The Messenger of Death

"Your highness!!??" All of them in the carriage chorused apart from Camron and the person in question, Alex.

They shifted their gaze from Alex to Camron and did this for quite a while.

Alex had a little smile on his face, not confirming or denying the title.

Camron also had the same smile on his face, not adding anything else to his comment.

"Are you really royalty?" Drake gulped the saliva in his mouth as he asked Alex.

Alex didn't answer, he turned his head and looked outside the window.

"Come on, say something." Drake pressed on, but Alex ignored him.

['Sorry guys, I wasn't the one that said I was royalty. I'm just playing along for the benefits that come with the lie.'] Alex thought.

['We might not be royalty, but we do have it takes to become one.'] Lex interjected.

"Wait, if you are royalty, doesn't that mean that you possess a bloodline?" Adrian thought it loud.

"That's true, your bloodline class should at least be a class-2" Emma added. "Legendary bloodline." She gasped after she uttered those words.

"No wonder you could battle cultivators above your rank, you have a legendary bloodline, gifted with the battle ability to skip 3 ranks," Adrian said.

"But class-2 legendary bloodline family do not exist on the lower plain realm. The ones that do exist here have class-2 bloodlines that are too impure to be considered a legendary bloodline.

Nonetheless, the bloodline is still capable of suppressing the class-3 bloodline." Gustavo thought out loud.

"Who cares!? That's still a bloodline that surpasses Duna's own!!" Drake interjected.

"Wait, if you are royalty, and we have already pledged our allegiance to you, doesn't that makes us part of your royal family?" Emma reasoned.

Her statement earned a chuckle from Alex. "Yeah it does… but you don't get any land, fief, or titles yet. You will have to wait until I conquer and create my own kingdom." Alex stated causally, but to the ears of teammates, it wasn't so.

"Conquer? And where do you plan on conquering first?" Even Camron was curious about this.

"I'll probably wait till I get to the Ordain plain realm first. And also, I need to create a legion of talented individuals." He placed his hand underneath his chin as he thought.

['Surprisingly, Al's thought of becoming king doesn't feel so languid anymore.'] He thought.

['Don't speak my name so causally boy.'] Al warned but Alex ignored him.

['Its good that you're having other desires apart from revenge, this way, you'll have more than one goal that will drive you towards greatness.'] Lex uttered.

['It doesn't feel like a drive for me yet, but I did promise he-who-shall-not-be-named that I was going to help him achieve that. My words should weigh a lot, therefore, I cannot go back on my words so easily.'] Alex sighed.

'A prince with high ambitions.' Adrian thought, bright-eyed and in awe of Alex's ambition. 'I didn't make the wrong choice by pledging my allegiance to him.' 

"A legion of talented individuals… make me a commander of this legion. Can I pledge my allegiance to you too?" Drake asked.

"Shut up Drake! It's a legion for talented people, why would trash like you be made their commander. Shit, I doubt if you would even make it into the cannon fodder team." Katherine interrupted.

Her words cut through Drake's heart. He froze in the spot where he was, in depression. It even looked as if dark clouds were about to form above his head.

The only person in their team that didn't have much of a reaction to what Alex said was Gustavo.

He didn't believe that conquering places in the Ordain plain realm will be easy for the bearer of a bloodline that was barely a class-2 legendary bloodline, or so he thought.

'Although he is talented, talent is not all that is needed to achieve that.' Gustavo thought.

"Alright, that's enough about me, lets make plans on how to deal with the Kawataro family," Alex said.

Strangely, after finding out that Alex is royalty, they felt as if the threat from the Kawataro family had reduced substantially. They were with a prince that bears a bloodline capable of suppressing the Kawataro bloodline. This thought made them feel braver and more confident about this.

"How about we start by destroying their mines? They possess 3 illegal gold mines. The law in the Western continent states that all gold and silver mines found, must be offered to the government.

The group or person that finds the mine will earn and be in control of 20% of what the government extracts from within the mine.

This is their approach to controlling the influx of gold in the market. Although others cannot duplicate gold coins, for they are unique and have their own anti-forgery watermark, it still doesn't make gold worthless to people.

Too much of it can reduce the value of gold…" Gustavo began.

The rest of the Seraphim team members looked at him with shock on their faces.

"Where the hell do you get your information from?" Drake questioned.

"We that like to know have our ways," Gustavo answered with a proud smile.

"And how credible is this information?" Alex asked.

"So credible that I have the locations of the mines and a little map of the terrains of the mines." He answered, still with a proud smile on his face.

"If it is accurate, then I might have underrated your uses and would have to reevaluate you," Alex muttered.

''See, I told you that I wasn't useless.' He thought as he looked at Alex.

"Hmmm, rather than destroying the mines, why don't we just bring the government's attention to it. That way, as the people that reported the existence of the mines, we have the glory of being the beneficiaries of the 20% gold mined from the mines." Camron uttered mischievously with a sinister smile on his face.

His suggestion had the rest of his teammates smiling.

"Yes, that would be better!!" Katherine chipped in as she giggled.

Drake, who had been in depression raised his head. The thought and imagination of that happening to them removed every trace of depression in Drake.

"Hell yeah!!" He shouted.

-Bam!!

Katherine immediately gave Drake an uppercut, forcing his teeth to bite his tongue. "You loud and foolish worm! Are you trying to burst my eardrums?"

"Eeee!!! Myy tonngguuee!!" Drake held his jaw in his hands as he cried out.

"Shut up or I'll punch you again." Katherine threatened.

Tears formed from the sides of Drake's eyes as he looked at Katherine. "What did I ever do to you?" He asked in a muffled voice.

Suddenly, Katherine was ridden with guilt after seeing his expression. 'I didn't have to hit him that hard, right? She was unsure of her actions. "Look elsewhere if you don't want your eyes to be poked." She threatened again.

Drake immediately looked elsewhere.

Alex watched the two of them with a smile on his face, making him look a lot more good-looking than usual.

['I like this atmosphere.'] He thought. ['Just you guys, and my friends.'] Alex added.

['It is kind of nice.'] Lex said.

Alex shifted his gaze from the couple and brought it upon Camron.

Suddenly, an eerie feeling crawl up his spine. This feeling was similar to the one that he got when he was fighting against the Ogun worshipers that could use the darkness element.

The difference was that this one felt a lot more threatening than theirs. Alex could feel his negative emotions being absorbed from his heart.

['What's going on?'] He thought frantically.

Alex looked At Camron and felt as if he was the one causing him to feel like this.

Camron was also oblivious to what he was doing, his mind was in a daze.

He couldn't tell that he had been absorbing the negative feelings around and using them to make himself stronger.

"Camron!" Alex called out but received no response from Camron.

"Camron!" He called out again, but this time he did so alongside a tap on Camron's lap.

"Huh, yeah?" Camron snapped out of his daze and looked at Alex. As soon as he answered, Alex, stopped feeling as if the negativity in him was being drawn away.

"Are you alright?" Alex asked.

"Uhh, yeah. I'm good, just need to rest for a little while."

"Alright, you do that." Alex looked at him weirdly as he replied.

['He doesn't know of what he did.'] Alex thought. ['The feeling I got from him is similar to the feeling that I got from the other darkness elemental users that worshiped Ogun. His was stronger and it felt more threatening.']

['Camron is also a darkness elemental user, albeit a pure one, unlike the Ogun worshipers that had to engrave Ogun's mark on their bones.'] Xander pointed out.

['Yeah, we shouldn't forget that he is also a darkness elemental user. Maybe coming in contact with the element has unlocked some abilities that he still doesn't know of, or can he control at will.'] Lex interjected.

['That's what making me worried, Ogun might have corrupted him.']

['Alex, I doubt that Camron has been corrupted by Ogun, you're just overreacting'] Lex uttered.

['Maybe I am… the ability to absorb negative emotions. No wonder I said something cheesy like liking the atmosphere.']

['Nah fam, that's all on you, virgin.'] Al commented…
