The Messenger of Death

Chapter 272: welcome home

"Alright guys, let's focus on what's important now. Before we report to the locations of the mines to the government authorities, we have to reconfirm the locations." Alex stated.

"I have nothing against that." Gustavo shrugged his shoulders at what Alex said. "But I do have faith in the accuracy of the information that I have."

"After confirming the spots, before we report anything to the authorities, we have to make sure that the spies from the Kawataro family do not hear anything about the report.

In other words, either we use a safe and unreliable channel to report the case or we eliminate the spies. The latter would be preferred." Alex mentioned.

While Alex was speaking he looked at Gustavo. "When we get to the capital city, I will try to probe into that water and find out about them. But I'm not making any promises, sometimes, information like that has to be bought and I'm not sure if I can afford it." He said.

"Money is the least of our problems. I don't care much for it." Alex intoned as sent Gustavo a look of disdain.

Although he wasn't the type that loved money, he'd rather not let others take advantage of him.

Gustavo understood this from the look of disdain that he was receiving from Alex. "I wasn't… well I was just stating the truth." He said in his defense.

"Moving on. After dealing with the mines or before the mines are dealt with, we need to create a distraction.

Or at least cause more loss for them. We attack their businesses disguised as the members of the criminal syndicate. The one that they have a hand in making.

After causing a little internal strife, we can think of what next to do." Alex finished.

"Okay, there's no need to go that far anymore. We might have been talking about ways to help me take revenge on the Kawataro family and appreciate that, but the truth is that you guys don't really have to do this for me. This was a nice way to relieve the stress in me." Camron spoke.

"What do you mean by that, Cam!? We want to do this, as your teammates, we are supposed to do this." Katherine frowned.

"Yeah, I know, but the risk involved in this is high. It's dangerous." Camron argued.

"What could be worse than almost going head to head against god or sovereign, that's according to Alex," Drake interjected.

"Hell, we've even gone against a celestial… Lilith, don't tell me that Duna's pussy ass family is scarier than Lilith!" Katherine added.

"You guys do know that they have cultivators watching and guardian their properties, right?" Camron questioned.

"Yeah, I am very much aware of that, and you guys are too, right?" Alex questioned.

"Most certainly," Adrian answered.

"I am," Emma said too.

"Not knowing would be stupid of us." Gustavo shrugged his shoulders as replied.

"This is a matter for me and my family to solve. The Kawataro family wants and needs the help of my father to able to achieve their goal. That was why they kidnapped me in the first place.

Unfortunately, they didn't plan on holding me hostage in the first place."

"First of all, your father's help wasn't the only reason why you were taken. The element you control was also one of the reasons.

To summon Ogun, they needed to sacrifice 5 people that some affinity with the darkness element. You are one of them… fortunately for you, they saved the best for last." Alex mentioned.

"Ohh!! I didn't know… but still-" Alex interrupted.

"Still, that gives us every incentive to take revenge-" Camron interrupted.

"This is not your decision to make, it is min-" Alex interrupted once more.

"It is also not a decision you can make, that ship already sailed the moment we became brothers. If we do get revenge, if not for you, then for us. As I said, I plan on making a legion of talented individuals.

You guys are more or less part of that legion already. I have to send a message to everyone else, not to come to mess with me or my people. So whether you like it or not, we are going to do this." Alex argued.

"Whatever it is, I want in on it, your highness." Drake chipped.

"Don't call me that in public places."

"Hahaha, I'll try not to. But I'm not making promises."

"Katherine is he calls me that in public, please mess with his jaw. Or maybe punch his throat, that seems to work most of the time." Alex requested.

"With pleasure." Katherine smiled as she cracked her knuckles.

"C'mon, I was just messing around. You didn't have to give her that go-ahead."

Camron released a sigh and shook his. "I just hope that everyone would back off before things get out of hand. They might even have an earth realm cultivator amongst their ranks of guards."

"Don't worry about that, we also have an earth realm cultivator by our side," Alex responded.

"Who!?" Camron raised his brows, he doubted what Alex said.

"Milo."

"Who's Milo?"

"This is Milo." Alex raised his right hand and black liquid began pouring out of his fingers. The liquid quickly transformed into a little Persian cat.

Camron's jaw became heavy as they slacked and fell to the ground.

"What is that?" He asked in fear of what he just saw.

"As I said, this is Milo. You can think of him as my pet or protector beast."

"Meow." Milo rubbed his head on Alex's legs.

"This pet or protector beast… its strength is comparable to an earth realm cultivator's?" He asked as he stared at Milo.

"Yeah, Milo is that strong. Maybe even stronger. I don't know yet, it's hard to tell yet as I'm still checking and exploring his abilities."

"Can I touch him?" He stretched his right hand forward.

"Carry him." Alex tossed Milo at Camron. Milo landed on his laps gently and stared at him.

"Is he actually a living creature?"

"What do you think?"

"He seems real, but just a few moments ago, he was just… liquid," Camron said and pinched Milo's cheeks.

It didn't take long for the Seraphim team to arrive at the walls of the capital city. The first place that they went to was the Avanti Manor.

Arriving in front of the gates of the manor, Camron and the rest of them alighted the carriage.

Camron smiled upon the sight of his home. He pushed that gates open and they all proceeded into the Manor.

"The security of the manor is really lax compared to before," Alex muttered as he walked in.

After taking a few steps in, several butlers of the Avanti family appeared in front of them.

"Master Camron." They uttered in unison, and the surprise in their voices could be discerned.

"Welcome back home, the Master has been worried sick about you." One of them said and bowed. The rest of the butlers followed suit and bowed too.

"What about my mother?" Camron asked.

"Lady Ivy didn't take the news of your abduction too well. She has been feeling under the weather since the news reached us. With your arrival, her recovery is sure now."

"Announce my arrival to my father and mother. I have missed them too."

"As you wish," They all bowed once more before they disappeared from Camron's view.

"I can't get used to seeing that. It's still kind of creepy to me." Drake muttered.

"It feels creepy to me too." Gustavo concurred. This was his first time in the Avanti Manor and he was busy taking in the beauty of the entrance.

Before Camron reached the front porch of the main building, his mother, Lady Ivy ran out of the building with a sleeping gown.

Her hair wasn't exactly presentable and she had bags under her eyes. Lady Ivy looked as if she had lost some weight.

Her maids were right behind her, running after her with several robes in their hands. Everyone but Camron and Alex covered their eyes.

"Cam!!" She called out to her son.

"Mom," Camron whispered gently as he ran to his mother's embrace.

Not long after the two of them hugged. One of the maids placed a blue robe over her shoulders.

"Camron, my baby…" Lady Ivy sobbed as she hugged her son tighter. "Are you hurt anywhere?" Lady Ivy was shaking because of how hard she was crying.

"No, mom. Alex made it just in time and saved me from the claws of my abductors." Camron sobbed a little when he felt his mother shake.

His heart ached that he caused this much sadness and pain to her. Camron's hatred for the Kawataro family amplified to the maximum at this moment.

He wanted to do more than making them lose some wealth, he felt the urge to destroy the clan.

"Alexander did that?" She asked.

"Yeah, he did mom, with the help of the rest of my teammates."

Lady Ivy released Camron and walked to where Alex was. Unexpectedly, Lady Ivy hugged Alex.

"Thank you, Alexander, for saving my son. Thank you." She expressed her gratitude.

Alex's ears turned red. He began scratching his cheeks and feeling shy. "It wasn't much Lady Ivy, it was something to do. And it was a team effort too."

"You are really his big brother." Lady Ivy commented.

"Mom," Camron came to his mother's side as she still had Alex in her embrace. "I'm older than he is."

Camron's comment made Alex and Lady Ivy chuckle…
