The Messenger of Death

Chapter 303: duna's death

Seeing their comrade die so easily, the rest of Duna's subordinates had no confidence in staying there anymore. They began running in different directions.

However, just like their comrade, a ball of fire shot towards them and turned them into charred meat.

Duna, being fearful for his life also started running. When Alex saw this he snorted and chased after him. Compared to Alex's speed, Duna was like a rabbit trying to run away from a tiger. In seconds, Alex caught up to him.

-Pow!

Alex used his spear to Duna's kneecap, demobilizing one of his legs. Duna crashed on the ground, he didn't have the time to process the pain from the kneecap that was broken when he heard the creaking sound of another bone being crushed. Now both of his kneecaps have been destroyed.

"Gah!!" Duna screamed out in agony, albeit the pain that he was going through, he still attempted to escape. He began using his hands to crawl and drag himself away.

"Pathetic," Alex watched as Duna did this. Since he started killing Duna's people, he had already begun relieving himself from his anger.

As Duna was making a pathetic escape, he suddenly felt a hot hand grab the back of his neck and himself being lifted from the ground.

"Ahhh!!" Duna cried out as he felt the skin on the back of his neck burning.

"You'll be coming with me," Alex uttered coldly as he began running towards a populated area in the academy.

Roughly 10 minutes had gone by the time Alex arrived at the middle of a popular market square in the academy. The place was bustling with people touring and purchasing whatever they felt like buying.

Immediately Alex reached here, he threw Duna to the ground.

-Boom!

The sudden loud sound of Duna hitting the ground scared but ultimately caught the attention of the majority around. They all stared at the crippled Duna that was thrown to the ground. Their attention is exactly what Alex wanted.

"That's a black badge student of the academy, A Nirvana realm cultivator, what the hell happened to him?" A person amongst the crowd pointed out.

Alex then used the bottom of his spear to hit the ground. The loud sound of metal hitting the floor brought the attention of people to Alex too. Now some of them figured out that it was a fight between two black Badge students of the academy. At this point, Alex had already stopped using his bloodline ability and the flames covering him had disappeared.

"Ahh!! Help me, he's trying to kill me." Duna yelled at the top of his lungs.

He pushed his hand forward subsequently sending 7 crescent-shaped blades made of water at Alex, hoping that it will be enough to slow Alex down, just until the law enforcers of the academy arrives and stopped Alex from killing him.

Alex watched Duna attack him, but he made no attempt to dodge or any effort to block the water blades. He couldn't sense any danger from Duna's attack and he was confident that it couldn't harm him. This confidence came from the fact that he was aware of how much his body had transformed.

Due to the methods that he used to upgrade his bloodlines, and Nana's training, Alex's body had reached a new level of sturdiness. For a Nirvana realm cultivator, Alex's body had surpassed the sturdiness of this level.

Contrary to Duna's expectations, his water blades did nothing to Alex. When they struck his body, it was as if the blades were thrown at a metal wall.

"Heavens!! How on earth did he not get sliced apart by those water blades?" A spectator was appalled.

Duna was shocked to see that his attacks did nothing to Alex. He even thought that he had imagined his water blades. The only thing that made him believe that his attacks did hit Alex was the fact that Alex's clothes were wet and had torn marks from being hit by the water blades.

Alex snorted at Duna's attempt to save himself, knowing fully well that he was trying to buy time for himself. Alex appeared beside Duna.

More accurately, he ran towards Duna, but to the eyes of those that couldn't keep up with his speed, it looked as if he just appeared beside him.

-Poof!!

Alex stamped on Duna's chest, causing his ribs to break and subsequently making him vomit a few mouthfuls of blood.

"Heavens!!" Some people watching screamed out in shock. "He's a monster!!"

Some of them could even swear that they saw Duna vomiting pieces of his bone too.

This scene was too brutal for some to watch comfortably, and for some it was just the right amount of blood for them to consider it entertaining, after all, many of them here are cultivators. They have seen their fair share of bloody battles.

"I give up, I'm sorry!" Duna cried out. Tears spilled out of his eyes as he stared at Alex.

"Well, I guess I could forgive you." Alex removed his leg that was on top of Duna.

Hearing this, Duna felt relief wash over him. 'I would get my revenge, just wait!' Duna thought to himself.

"But you still need to die," Alex added and stamped on Duna's head.

-Boom!

His head exploded and blood, brain matter, his teeth, and other components of his head painted the floor.

Immediately Alex did this, the law enforcers of the academy arrived.

Alex had a smirk on his face, feeling relieved of the anger that had been eating at him.

['See, I told you that a little blood will make you feel better, Hahaha!!'] Al stated.

['Did you though?'] Alex wondered.

['Of course, I did, doubting the fact that I told you so is the best proof there is.']

['Indeed,'] Alex chuckled.

['Now that these pricks are, time to go to jail, hahaha!'] Al's laughter only got louder.

['You make it sound like you have a weird fetish for cells.'] Xander uttered, a little bit repulsed by Al.

['It's all in your mind Xander, Hahaha!'] Al replied.

"This is in violation of the laws of the academy. You shall be arrested and put to trial. Your cultivation will be sealed and if you show any sign of resisting we will kill you on the spot.

About nine law enforcers appeared. Their faces were covered by black wooden masks. They all pointed their weapons at Alex, ready to attack him if he showed any form of resistance.

One of them walked forward, slowly approaching Alex. "Drop your weapon!" The law enforcer ordered.

Alex sighed as shook his head at the law enforcer. Alex returned his weapon to his storage ring. "I asked you to drop your weapon, retracting it into your ring can also be seen as a form of resistance. Drop your weapon!" The law enforcer announced.

"Tell me something I don't already know," Alex whispered as he slowly started removing the storage ring that he was wearing.

He then threw it at the paranoid law enforcer. The law enforcer caught it before he finally approached Alex with caution. The law enforcer placed a talisman on Alex's chest and neck, sealing his cultivation and also paralyzing him.

['Now this is a new one.'] Alex thought, not feeling worried in the slightest.

['Hey, if I was them, I would also be scared of Nirvana realm cultivator.'] Al said.

The law enforcers took Alex away, along with Duna's headless corpse.

Alex was thrown into the same cell he and his teammates were thrown into the last time they were here.

"Await your judgment." The law enforcer said right before he closed the cell.

"I already know my options, I demand the right to choose my punishment," Alex replied.

The law enforcer paused, hesitating. He couldn't make such a decision, only his superiors could even though he knew that Alex had the right to choose from amongst 3 options of how he would be punished.

"Wait a moment." The law enforcer while locking Alex's cell.

"Nana's going to be so pissed when she finds out that I got imprisoned again. Even if I do have a good reason for it this time." Alex blurted out.

['That's why we need to finish this as fast as we can. Let's hope that we get the petal before she comes back. And if things get too heated for us to handle, you can just crush the talisman that she gave to us, and then she comes to our rescue. Easy as that.'] Al interjected.

Silence then filled the cell.

['I'll have to apologize to the team and Camron after this.'] Alex thought, feeling a bit sad again.

['Save me the drama Alex, you don't need to do anything of the sort. What's wrong with being selfish?'] Al was getting fed up with Alex's concern over what Camron said.

['There's nothing wrong with being selfish, who's more important than yourself?'] Xander chipped in.

['I guess you guys are right.'] Alex thought.

"Okay, my superiors said that they will give you the opportunity to choose your punishment." The voice of the law enforcer snapped Alex out of his thought.

He opened the cell and brought Alex out. "Come with me." The law enforcer said and they left with Alex walking behind…
