The Messenger of Death

Chapter 268: the world of black and white ii

"Correct yourself." Alex raised a hand and opened his palm.

The eyes continued to look down on Alex, not putting his existence in its gaze.

Alex slowly started to close his palm, starting from his pinky finger. As his fingers covered his palm, the space where the giant eyes in the sky were, began to compress and squeeze.

But right before Alex's index finger could fall, he found it hard to keep the rest of his fingers on top of his palm. It was as if something was trying to force his hand open.

Suddenly, Alex started to hear a voice speak, madly in his ears. He couldn't understand the language, but he could discern the intentions behind the language.

'A mortal soils my return, with such puny powers. If you do not wish to die a gruesome death, complete the ritual for me.' This voice came with some kind of compelling resonance. If an ordinary cultivator listened to this voice, the person would have lost his mind.

To Alex, this voice acted as a suppression over his surging and raging innate bloodline. His mind started to clear bit by bit. But as this happened, his powers reduced.

Alex scoffed. "If you are a true god, why do you need us mortals to help you? Crossing dimensions isn't hard for a celestial, why is a sovereign struggling to cross over." Alex made a wild guess.

He wanted to gauge Ogun's prowess, just in case things go bad and Nana is needed. If Ogun is still a celestial, then inviting Nana over wouldn't be a problem. But if he was a sovereign then he would have to find his way out on his own.

Following his question, Alex saw his fingers slowly rising from his palm. He frowned and looked up at the eyes. As his fingers were rising, the space where the eyes were, was returning to the way it was, a few seconds ago.

'A mortal here, knows about us sovereigns?' The surprise in the voice could be heard as he spoke. 'This is yet another surprise, I doubt that celestials know about sovereigns. You know and yet your insolence knows no bounds? If I wished to end your life, I could use a word to do so.' Ogun responded.

"If you could end my life, you would have done so even before I stopped the ritual." Alex sneered at the eyes that exuded pure arrogance and pride.

'Hahaha!!! I dislike you, perish!' Ogun whispered a spell after that.

-Puff!!

Alex vomited a mouth full of blood and his knees fell to the ground.

Ogun wasn't joking when he said that he could end Alex's life with a word if he pleased, he was doing just that.

Alex's heart that had been beating slowly, felt as if his heart was in the hands of another, and that person was crushing it.

-Puff!!

More blood spilled out of his mouth and he started to feel his consciousness fade. Shock and regret were all Alex was feeling at the moment. He has had many near-death experiences, but this was the first that he saw no way out for himself.

'I can't die now. I don't want to die.' He thought.

'I really don't want to die now.'

The suppression that Alex's bloodline was causing, faded into thin air and those that were still alive and conscious remained there. His heart had stopped beating, but he still hasn't died, Alex just couldn't move his body.

'Shit, I just had to talk to a sovereign like that.'

"All hail Ogun!!!"

"Praise Ogun!!" The Ogun worshippers began shouting in jubilation.

"Kill the last sacrifice and prepare to welcome your lord," Ogun commanded.

"As you command, my lord!!" The leader of the Ogun worshippers replied. They quickly brought another tusk that had been engraved with Ogun's mark.

Alex could hear the person's footsteps as he got closer to Camron. He forced his mouth open and struggled to speak.

"If…" His voice sounded raspy and weak. "If you take another step closer, I will end you." Alex threatened.

"Kill that son of a bitch first, just not with the tusk. He tried to stop us from bringing Ogun over, he has to die!!!" The leader commanded.

"Yes, Baba!!" The man holding the tusk replied and began making his way towards Alex.

"Son of a bitch eh?"

Like a trigger, Alex's bloodline surged out of his control. In a second, the air became so thick that nothing could move, not one soul within the artificial independent space could move nor breathe. Alex's heart resumed beating and he had stopped vomiting blood.

His skin turned pale, and his black hair began growing until its length was proportional to his waist.

Alex's red pupils suddenly divided into 3. In each eyeball, he had 3 pupils that formed a reuleaux triangle. The pupils were red and the part where they intersected, was black. The circles of runes that were above his eyes, inscribed their selves on his face, giving Alex several runic tattoos.

In a moment, Alex was standing erect. But he didn't move any of his muscles, it was as if the world moved as if the world adjusted its position to Alex's comfort.

His 6 pupils shifted and gazed into the eyes of Ogun.

'Impossible, how are you still alive? Is this the tenacity of a cockroach?' He mocked. 'Know your place, mortal.' Ogun uttered.

Alex wave his left hand, and everything there, beside Camron, began to fade with the wind, it was as if he was erasing them from existence.

'Impossible!!' This time, there was a bit of reverence in Ogun's tone as he spoke. 'What sort of power is this!!? What type of fundamentals have you grasped!!? To what extent, to what level!!?' He said in anger and fear.

'How are you able to erase souls!!?' Ogun couldn't understand how Alex was able to do what he was doing. At the moment, he couldn't even discern that this was a bloodline ability of Alex.

'Mortal, let us a make a deal. Come work for me, in the future, after I have conquered worlds, I shall make you my right-hand man. What do you say? Kill that mortal behind and help me return.' Ogun said excitedly.

Alex could hear what Ogun was saying, but he couldn't respond. At present, he wasn't even in control of his actions. His mind was alive, but his thoughts were dead.

Alex raised his hand once again and opened his palm.

'You dare to ignore me, mortal. Your death shall be unpleasant-'

Before Ogun could finish speaking, Alex's palm closed and the space where Ogun's eyes were, compressed until the eyes were no more.

The independent artificial space that he was in, was created by Ogun, and since it has lost connection with the power that was sustaining it, the space started to crumble. In no time, Alex and Camron returned to the desert.

It was already night as the sun had retreated. Alex looked around the desert like a curious child. When he looked behind and saw the unconscious Camron, still breathing. His killing intent surged out.

He stretched his right hand out with the intention of killing Camron, but before his right hand could go any further, his left hand intercepted and broke his wrist.

Alex looked at his own hand in a daze, wondering why he would break his own wrist. Suddenly some of the runic tattoos on his face moved towards his broken wrist, and in seconds it was healed.

He then stretched his right hand again, still with the intention to end Camron, but this time he found it hard to move his hand.

Unexpectedly, his hand slapped his face and pulled at the skin of his face. As if he was trying to remove his own face. The skin crawler was forcefully removed due to the strength behind the pull and fell to the ground.

Alex didn't let that stop him from pulling at his face, he resumed the action. After struggling for a while, the runic tattoos on Alex's face began fading into thin air.

As it faded, his pupils started merging, and soon they returned to the brown chestnut eyes that he had possessed since he was a kid.

He fell to the floor beside Camron and began breathing heavily. The rate at which his heart was beating still hasn't returned to normal, so he had to breathe as hard as he could to provide enough oxygen for his heart.

Alex started sweating, profusely. Soaking his cloth and the sand beneath him.

After what felt like hours, but in truth it was only minutes, Alex's heartbeat returned to normal.

['What the fuck.'] He thought as he recalled everything that just happened.

That was his doing, not the actions of an alter ego, but himself.

The only difference was, that part of him reacted and acted solely out of desire. He was thinking but his body didn't respond to his thoughts, instead, it responded to his desires.

"I almost killed Camron." He whispered, still unable to believe everything that had transpired…
