The Messenger of Death

As usual, Alex's footsteps didn't make any sounds as he approached the only guard that was tasked with watching over this place.

Aja was busy, wallowing in his daydream, hoping that they could summon Ogun sooner. Suddenly his daydream was interrupted by an unfamiliar and rough hand that covered his mouth.

The hand made it impossible for him to call out to anyone for help. What shocked Aja the most was that the person came from behind, meaning that the person passed through the doors that he thought no one could open.

'Who could this be? Not even the Baba could get that open.' He thought as he tried to shrug Alex's hand off his mouth. Unfortunately for him, Alex's hand was like a vice that didn't budge no matter how hard he tried.

Alex was thinking of how to kill the guard that he restricted. If he spilled blood, there might be others close by that are sensitive to the smell of blood. Doing that might alert them.

['These people are really strong though. They can afford to leave a rank-1 nirvana realm cultivator here to guard nothing. Although I still haven't seen any of them use the darkness element.'] Just as Alex was done thinking about the combat ability of his enemy, he felt the hair behind his neck stand.

Immediately, he let go of the guard that he ambushed. Alex frowned as he saw a black gaseous substance envelope the guard. This black substance gave an eerie feeling to whoever was looking at it.

By the time the black gaseous substance finished enveloping the guard, he looked like a cloud in the shape of a man.

"Ogun damn you!!" The guard cursed loudly at Alex and charged at him. In an instance, the guard appeared before Alex.

Seeing this happen, unexpectedly, Alex was stunned for a few seconds. The speed at which the guard approached him, was more than what a rank-1 nirvana realm cultivator was capable of exhibiting. Aja was just as fast as Alex that was already at the second rank of the nirvana realm.

Shrugging his surprise away, Alex moved the side. Dodging the guard's spear that also seems to have been enveloped by the black gaseous substance.

As the spear passed by him, Alex could feel the gaseous substance trying to pull him closer to it. It was strong, unpredictable and that made it scarier than Alex thought. Immediately, Alex used his spear to hit Aja's dark spear away.

Jumping back a few yards, Alex put a little distance between him and Aja.

['Is this why they said that darkness elemental users were scary and strong?'] Alex thought.

Alex could still tell that Aja's cultivation level didn't increase, but the boost and QI coming from the black gaseous substance that enveloped him, was beyond Aja's ability.

['The energy felt so wicked and evil.'] Alex said.

"You shall be a sacrifice to my spear. I, Aja, son of Adewale have never been insulted like this. Come and die for me!!" Aja charged at Alex again

['Evil QI can be waded off by lightning too. Why don't you attempt it? His introduction might have already alerted the rest of the guards around.'] Lex suggested.

Without thinking much, Alex reacted and lightning traveled from his hand to his spear, and then he used the spear to block Aja's attack.

-Thum!!

Lightning sizzled and blew Aja's spear away. Everywhere that Alex's lightning touched, the black gaseous substance disappeared.

['Lightning rocks.'] Alex commented happily.

Aja was surprised to see that the person that attacked, controlled an element that was one of the banes of the power he possessed. What shocked him the most was the ferocity of the QI that was contained within the lightning.

He didn't know that Alex's lightning was as a result of his bloodline, a dragon's lightning.

"The loud bang came from over here!!" Alex heard a guard shout from a distance.

"Time to end this." Alex looked at Aja like prey and released his killing intent. "Since he had already alerted the guards, he didn't care about how he attacked again."

"What sort of demon are you?" Aja blurted out when he felt the magnitude of Alex's killing intent.

Suddenly, he disappeared from Aja's view. This time, Alex's speed had reached the stage that Aja couldn't follow.

"Quickly over here, this sneaky rat looks like he's capable!!" Just as Aja called to his companions, he felt a pain assault his brain. Aja looked down to his chest and saw a huge hole where his heart was meant to be.

"Puff!!" Aja wanted to speak but the only thing that exited his mouth was blood. 'When did he hit me?' That was the last thing that crossed his mind.

-Thud!!

Aja dropped to the ground.

"You might be fast, but I am faster," Alex whispered as he watched the rest of the guards approached him.

He inspected them and they were all rank-1 -nirvana realm cultivators, all 32 of them. ['What the… they have more nirvana realm cultivators than the academy does. If the rest face cultivators like this in spots that I sent them to, then they won't have a chance against them.'] He exclaimed.

Just like Aja did, they used the darkness element to cover their body and weapons, making their selves stronger.

-Ttzznn!!

The lightning around Alex got more violent and thicker as if they already knew that he was about to battle.

"Forget about their numbers, I don't have time waste here anymore."

Alex charged at them, and just like a flood, he overwhelmed them. His lightning, tore, sliced, and left burn marks on the wall of the building. Blood splashed on Alex and his weapon, making him look wicked.

His opponents didn't even have the chance to react before they died.

Alex continued his journey, weaving through halls and rooms, looking for people to kill and also, Camron to save. He killed as soon as he saw anyone living, not waiting for them to notice his presence.

After some time had passed, Alex had already killed hundreds of Ogun worshippers. He arrived in a place within the building that resembled a garden, which was weird because even the plants and grass were all black.

Walking into the weird garden, Alex noticed that the plants were suppressing his lightning. "This is a first, the violent QI in my lightning seems calm now." He muttered as he watched the size of his lightning reduce.

"This place keeps on getting weirder the deeper I go." His lightning being suppressed didn't worry him in particular, he still had Milo beside him and since they entered here and started battling, they haven't been able to stop Milo. After all, Milo is as strong as a rank-1 earth realm cultivator.

Suddenly, the little balls of lights that were illuminating the garden, disappeared. Turning the surroundings pitch black.

"Quickly, drown in him the darkness before he escapes." Alex heard a familiar voice order. It was Bola, the woman that was speaking to Aja.

The ground started to feel weird to Alex, it felt as if his legs were inside water, but his legs and trousers didn't get wet. This continued, climbing up his ankles, then his knees.

Alex made lightning surround his body, and the little sparks that came out gave him an idea of the situation that he was in at the moment.

Just Bola said, they literally wanted to drown him in the darkness. When his lightning flashed, he saw that he was in some kind of black water.

This water didn't disperse when it came in contact with his lightning. This was possible because of the nature of where he was.

Before the black water finished crossing Alex's neck, he activated his fire bloodline ability, setting his body on fire. This bloodline being the purest amongst his bloodline at this point, it was stronger and hotter than ever. His flames made the black water around him disperse immediately upon contact.

"Sure enough, the dragon fire is a lot more effective," Alex smirked coldly as he thought of how he wanted to kill his opponents.

He waved his spear and a long line of flames shot in the direction that he waved his spear at. The fire tore through the black water and went straight for a dozen people that were in the direction of his attack.

"Dodge!!!" One of them shouted and dived to the side, dodging Alex's attack.

The line of flames hit 7 of the Ogun's worshippers. Upon contact with the line of flames, they exploded and burned into ashes. The QI contained in that attack was explosive.

['Attacking like this is too slow, and I still can't use an AOE attack with the fire element.'] Alex thought. ['Xander, switch with me for a moment and help me think of a solution.']

Xander understood what Alex meant by asking for his help. He was hesitant but still switched with Alex. The first thing Xander did was to sigh.

The fire that was around Alex's body dispersed as soon as he switched with Xander.

['Al, you're up.'] Xander said and forcefully switched with Al.

"You fucking retard, using Xander like that-" Suddenly Al's fuming was interrupted by the still rising black water, it entered his mouth.

This made Al angrier. ['Fine, I'll take my anger out on them.']

He opened his palms in the black water and two balls of fire materialized above them. ['Sun's set: Fireflies!!'] Al thought angrily.

The balls of fire hovering above his palm started to break into little balls of flames that resembled fireflies. These little fireflies pushed the black water away from Al.

They spread all around the weird garden, covering the ceiling and black plants.

Seeing the little balls of fire that contained enough heat to melt them, the Ogun worshippers started to flee.

Al spat out the black water that was in his mouth, "Die, motherfucker."

-Boom!!!

The fireflies exploded, destroying and burning everything in their path. The Ogun worshippers that were there, all in a second, died without leaving a corpse behind.

The AOE that Al used was even more devastating than Xander's own…
