[Exam Begins]

The day of the exam finally arrived.

The exam lasted two days, and on the first day we would be having the written exam.

This should be nothing to worry about. And hey, I breezed through it.

The problem was the actual battle-style exam on the second day.

The rules weren’t much different from the fighting tournament during the school festival.

That is, winning or losing wasn’t the determining factor of your grade, but what mattered was how you did in battle. So both winner and loser might get passing grade–although apparently there had been very rare cases where both get failing grade, on the contrary.

So, students were fully advised to give it their all regardless who their opponent was.

On the training ground that would be the venue for the exam.

“How nostalgic…”

I was reminded of Raul’s berserk incident.

It wasn’t a good memory, to say the least, but it had left a strong impression on me because it was the first problem I had faced after being reincarnated. Then again, it was because of that I had become close with Raul, so it wasn’t all bad.

Here, I would be having a rematch with Raul.

Though, because of the order from the lots-drawing, our turn wouldn’t come until last.

So, until it was our turn, we just watched the battles and support our friends.

“Hoaaaaaa!”

“Uwa?!”

The first match was between Andrei—member of the Knights of the Academy—and Otto, who belonged to the fire element class.

With the combination of his fire magic and vaunted speed, Otto toyed with Andrei. He was a bad opponent for a power type fighter like Andrei—or so it should be, but…

“Uraaa!”

“Urgh?!”

Facing incoming magic, his prided power exploded.

The wind pressure from his fist blew away Otto’s fire magic.

However, Otto didn’t give up and continued running around the stage while casting small magic trying to create an opening. Andrei, meanwhile, blocked his attacks but was unable to land a decisive blow either, and before long five minutes, which was the time limit, passed.

“Time’s up!”

After hearing the voice of the teacher acting as referee, the two let out a deep breath, and…

“I’ve expected no less from the Knights of the Academy. You’re really strong.”

“So are you. Your speed and magic are incredible.”

They gave each other a passionate hug and pat on the back for the good fight.

After that, Jarvis and Eureka finished their exams. In a different grade, Madeline took her exam a little further away from us, but she seemed to be doing well.

Everyone fought with their all, and the reactions from the grading teachers weren’t bad. The way things were, everyone should get passing grades.

About halfway through the exam, the matchup I had been waiting for finally came around.

“Next – Kleine Foslord VS Tayte Ehrenberg!”

Kleine and Tayte both belonged to the student council.

Even though it was an exam, this would be the first time for them to fight each other for real.

“Let’s give it our best.”

“Yes!”

Kleine and Tayte shook hands and prepared for battle.

“…Who do you think will win between them?”

“Please give us your honest opinion, Lord Barrett.”

As I was watching the two on stage, Jarvis and Eureka, who had finished their exams, came up to me.

“Who knows? I can’t tell, either.”

Now then… I wondered how their match would play out…
