Yomigaeri no Maou

Episode 15: Father's Home

My father came back about two weeks after that.

Around noon, when the sun also rose high, my father, returning in a carriage coming from the neighbouring town, wore no sword or armor, a light outfit no different from those villager townspeople there, not very much, but invisible, to an armed swordsman at all times.

Calm and quiet atmosphere, thick books with a number in their luggage, plus I guess I've been reading before, wearing the magic gear for vision correction that I always wear when reading letters, and I look more convincing when people say I'm a scholar than a knight.

Several books from the carriage on the entrance to the village and his father, who came down with a large bag, slowly waved when he found Lulu, who had come to pick him up.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

"Hey... Long time no see, Lulu. How you doin '?

That tone, soft and gentle, which does not betray his appearance, looked the same as before, and I felt nostalgic, even though it did not mean that Lulu hadn't seen him in years.

"Oh, I was fine... long time no see. Can you stay here long this time?

My father's, Patrick's work is in the king's capital, in the royal palace, so yes, I don't get a vacation. That's why it was a question.

If it's true, maybe we should have a whole family and live in the King's Capital, but my mother likes this village, and my father doesn't want to take my mother or Lulu to the King's Capital.

It seems that my mother used to live in the King's Capital, but she came to the village to marry her father, and she seems to be here ever since.

We don't know because we don't both like the central, or we don't try to tell them if there's any other reason, but because of such circumstances, Lulu couldn't make it to the big city.

"Right, this time too... I don't think I'll be able to stay that long. It's not even as short as going home right away. So I have about time to do some archery on Lulu and Rusty."

That's what Patrick said and laughed.

Always, when Patrick returns, Lulu and Rusty get an archery on.

Few people in this village have any knowledge of swordsmanship at all, but only Patrick is practicing swordsmanship at a level that is accurately taught to people.

For this reason, when he returns to the village this way, few children in the village ask him to teach them.

While in the village, Patrick is free because he is on a complete vacation and has no other work to do.

Nevertheless, as a knight, he can't let that arm fade, and the training in swordsmanship goes on without a day's rest, so it seems that the child who watched it started begging him to teach.

Patrick taught me to leave the village as it were, and there were a few who became adventurers, and Rusty is trying to keep up with it.

"I think Rusty's on fire this time. Probably, 'cause I'm desperate to hang in there... just tell me not to be too pushy"

"Hmm? Did something happen to her?

"I'll talk about that later...... because I have a lot more to talk about"

"Right... Speaking of which, what about the media?

"I'm cooking lunch with Iris at home right now. I didn't know when the carriage was coming, so I was here earlier."

When I said that, Patrick nodded, saying, Hmm.

"Iris. I heard in the letter that you're going to adopt us? It didn't say anything about the details, but why the hell would I do that again..."

It must be a letter from my mother.

It's something I write about in the village and what's happening to my family and send them regularly.

A substitute that will take at least a week to reach Wang Capital, but this time it seems to have arrived early for the price.

However, he did not seem to have had time to write about the details.

"I say you can use the small room in person... my mother"

Have you ever thought about Lulu's tone, and Patrick will look like he's out there too?

However, it doesn't seem to be the opposite, and I asked Lulu a question.

"The media says it's impotent again too...... well, that's fine. Is that okay with Lulu?

I suppose you're asking far away whether the sudden stranger becomes a family and confused.

From Patrick, I'm a little kid.

It was a natural concern.

However, it is completely out of focus.

Iris is a daughter who has been following me like a family for a long time, and even for Lulu herself, she has built up a figure thick personality in her previous life enough to live fine that she would be a stranger.

So it was a perfectly fine story.

"As far as I'm concerned, I don't mind at all. Illis is polite and a good boy..."

Patrick seemed to feel something other than simple approval for the way Lulu said it, rubbing his jaw and glowing his glasses.

"Ho... is that her?

The words were mixed with some teasing colors.

It's a guy called Parent-Child Skin Ship.

But Lulu's age to be confused by that kind of thing has passed a long time ago, and that's why he won't be able to help but get in the same tone as he did.

"She's not going to be my sister or my sister..."

Not only that, but to be honest, she is a dear daughter of a friend.

Psychological hurdles would be too high for her.

But Patrick argued with a clear argument.

"Kingdom law doesn't prohibit you from marrying siblings whose blood isn't connected. In that case, it's a formality to do it to an adopted child in another house."

That is true.

It was at home, it was also well described in the Kingdom Code.

But that's not the problem.

That's why Lulu said.

"It's not a matter of law..."

That's how Patrick finally understood Lulu, who didn't end up giving anything like the color of love.

"Hmm... that looks unlikely, doesn't it? You feel as if you are your true sister..."

He cut out the conversation by saying strangely sharp things like that.

Then Lulu receives several books from Patrick and walks out toward Kadisnora's mansion.

Patrick followed and arrived at the mansion some time later.

◆ ◇ ◆ ◇ ◆

When we reach the mansion, my mother and Ilis, plus a servant, greet Patrick.

Patrick greeted each and every one of them and embraced them.

That's also true about servants.

I don't know if it's because he's a junior nobleman or because he's Patrick, but Patrick has a pretty inseparable personality and behaves casually towards villagers and servants alike.

I don't even care if it's a name or a call.

If you make a mistake, you may be questioned about your way as an aristocrat. Its character, but the villagers are careful to call it in public, or when there are other villagers or travelers, it is well tailored, so there are few worries about that.

There are some parts of the village where such care is insufficient with regard to the children, but there are no great human beings coming to the village in the first place, so there has been no such thing as a problem so far.

Then Patrick packed his baggage and kept it in his room, giving Lulu some of the books he brought.

This is how Patrick always books his souvenirs when he returns from the king's capital.

I remember asking how I could bring it so expensive, because I have some friends who are essential to the book collection, and I often buy books so they are in my hands at a discount.

Not many of them were slightly out of date or had page droppings due to that relationship, but I still had no problem as a lululu because I could get enough information.

We all chat around the lunch my mother and Ilis made.

Patrick has a lot to talk about and talks about the Wang Capital, but Lulu felt a lack of information because the contents of it were crushed so that those about Lulu's age could see it, and the stories that stuck too much to him were more difficult to do than he had ever done as a normal child given his age.

To make up for that, I wanted to have an interaction with the Grans, but the idea would still have been a success, I thought after a long conversation with my father.

The contents of my father's talk were interesting, but he still seemed to have quite a different perspective than the adventurer, and the atmosphere of Wang Du would be conveyed, but he wouldn't tell me much about his relationship with other countries or anything like that.

Even if you do occasionally, it's often hearsay or a general story, and I guess it's more about asking people than I've seen myself, or the knowledge I've purchased in books.

The only thing that doesn't give me the details is that Lulu may have no choice but to look seven, but I was still a little sorry to hear it whenever.

Unlike adventurers, yes, there will be times when we will never cross the border, and there will be times when we will not be able to talk more confidentially than being knights who swear allegiance to the kingdom.

All in all, my father could say that he was someone with the opposite temperament to the casual and absurd part of the adventurer.

As he was eating, such Patrick heard from the media about adopting Iris again, and he nodded in two replies.

I guess I had a conversation with Iris and figured out what her temperament was and decided it wasn't a problem.

I was going to write and submit the paperwork when I returned to Wang Du.

We also talked about when adventurers came to the village.

In it, Lulu went to the ruins and Patrick was exposed by the media, but he doesn't get so angry, he just ends up telling me not to force it.

And the story appears in the most important.

Lulu cut out quietly.

"So... father. I need to talk to you."

To that attitude that changed, Patrick also had something to think about, turning a smile that was flamboyant into a serious look and staring at Lulu.

"What is it?

"Me, when I'm fourteen, I want to be an adventurer... so I wonder if you'll forgive me"

Without fixing anything, Patrick smiles when he sees Lulu, who said it straight.

"... Fine. Even though we are junior, noble, it's not like we don't have a lot of problems... that's just what we need to talk about even adopting children from relatives. Because we're still young, there's a chance your brother can do it. Just...... lulu"

I thought I admitted it lightly, and Lulu's guess wasn't so bad that I didn't know what the hell he was trying to say to Patrick, who cut the word and tried to say something.

Lulu nods slowly and waits for the word.

"Ah."

"Adventurers aren't as easy a job as you say they are. So let's give you a challenge."

"Challenges, or..."

What kind of things are put to the challenge.

I knew that somehow.

While my father is so serene, his essence is a harsh knight.

Such is the challenge he puts forth.

Needless to say.

says Patrick.

"Yes... you must be recognized by me, with the arms of the sword, by the fourteenth birthday. You can't seem to do that, because even if you become an adventurer, you're just gonna die soon... okay?

That said, Patrick's eyes were shimmering and his expression dwelt on a strong will that was different from the gentle smile he had just had.

It was there that the many warriors who had challenged Lulu, once the Demon King, felt no less temperament than what they had.

So Lulu answers.

Because I know now and always that I can't say no.

"Oh...... ok. By my fourteenth birthday, I'll be the swordsman my father will recognize."

Patrick laughed again at Lulu, who was persecuted by Patrick but said so with an unmistakable look.

But that smile was still, not calm... it didn't differ from what it was then when the warrior found a good enemy.

"That's my son. Come on, if that's what you decide, you'll start special training tomorrow. I believe you'll be strong."

That said, my father returned to his usual expression.

Can Lulu be good enough to beat Patrick?

Patrick is strong.

This country is the strongest, not by any means, but its arms are origami.

Because his vocation is none other than that of the Royal Knights, the most prestigious in the kingdom, its swordsmanship guide.

Speaking of the strongest of the kingdoms of Leonard, it would normally be the head of the Royal Knights, or the chief of court sorcery.

But in swordsmanship, there is probably no one out to Patrick's right in the kingdom.

In swordsmanship, he does not allow anyone to follow him.

He's strong enough to say that.

Realizing that he couldn't even be an adventurer most of the time, Lulu cleaned up his meal that way, then took a training wooden knife and headed to the mansion's garden.

From now on, every day is a special training.

If you don't, it's another dream of your dreams, like beating Patrick.

Think so.
