64. An Unexpected Gift

Translator: Sissy That Walk

The examination papers were very basic for Qi Le An. He completed all of them quickly and walked out of the office. What came to his sight when he walked out was Chen Shan and the principal having a cigarette together.

Qi Le An was shocked. This was a school! Even if the school was not officially started, he couldn’t believe his manager was having a cigarette with the principal at school!

‘Chen Ge, you are truly amazing. How did you do that!’ Qi Le An exclaimed in his heart.

Qi Le An was not worried about the exam results at all, he knew he had nailed it. Chen Shan felt the same way after he glanced over the test papers. Chen Shan happily said goodbye to the principal and invited him to dinner at his parents’ before leaving with Qi Le An.

Chen Shan took Qi Le An to the mall after they left the school, he bought several new outfits for Qi Le An and treated him a fancy lunch. Qi Le An felt so spoiled, he appreciated it even more after he had spent his entire winter holiday studying and worrying about Wei Chang Feng.

Director Chen and his team were such experts in promoting their movies. Qi Le An and Chen Shan could see the banners of Better Days in the mall. Qi Le An had even heard the girls in the next room talking about how much they wanted to see the new movie when they were having lunch. He couldn’t help but smile.

Seeing this, Chen Shan sighed, “No wonder all the actors are dying to work with Director Chen, everyone is looking forward to watching his movie regardless of age and sex.”

Qi Le An had a good night’s rest that night. The next day, he received a call from the principal, saying that Qi Le An had passed the exams, he was admitted to the school and he could officially attend school the day next.

Although the outcome was expected, Qi Le An, still couldn’t help but feel excited. His first reaction was to share the news with Wei Chang Feng, but after hesitating for a moment, he called Chen Shan first.

Chen Shan was still sleeping when he picked up the phone, but he perked up immediately after he heard the great news.

“Good job, An, I knew you could do it!”

Qi Le An then called Yin Yan.

When Yin Yan heard the news that Qi Le An passed the exam, he was really happy. He also shared some great news with Qi Le An that the company was officially in talks with “The Disguiser”.

After the two phone calls, Qi Le An texted Wei Chang Feng that he was admitted to the school.

“Hi, Wei Sama, are you feeling better today? I have passed the exam for the International Department of NO.1 High School and I’m going back to school tomorrow.”

Qi Le An was so nervous after he sent the message.

The more Qi Le An thought about it, the more he felt like he had made a wrong move. He wasn’t exactly sure whether Wei Chang Feng was gay or not and how exactly Wei Chang Feng felt about him before he fabricated that dream.

And now Wei Chang Feng was avoiding him.

Qi Le An felt like he was more sophisticated in this life, but he was still an innocent little boy when it came to romantic feelings.

Clearly Wei Chang Feng needed time and space to think about this, Qi Le An totally understood that. But he couldn’t bear the thought of losing Wei Chang Feng. ‘What if Wei Chang Feng forgets about me? What if he is seduced by someone else?’

Qi Le An decided to pretend innocent.

Innocent and pitiful. ‘You are the one who dreamed about me, I don’t know anything about it, I still see you as my Wei Sama. I will still keep contacting you.’

Qi Le An felt so down for he didn’t received a reply from Wei Chang Feng.

Chen Shan slept until noon, he drove to Qi Le An’s house after he enjoyed a yummy brunch.

Qi Le An’s census register was transferred to Gale Studio from Glory now, therefore, his registration procedures for admission were hassle-free. Kids were not able to enroll into schools without census register in China.

Kids must receive nine-year compulsory education as well. That was the law. Even Glory was obliged to provide education for their trainees, all of the trainees at Glory were registered on paper. Chen Shan started to look into the paperwork of transferring census register as soon as Qi Le An mentioned he was interested in going back to school.

The International Department adopted small class size teaching system, there were about thirty students in each class, and five classes in total. The principal arranged Qi Le An in Class 5, Grade 1 because Class 5 was located in the end of the hallway, and the principal thought Qi Le An would appreciate the privacy.

This was the first day the students went back to school, happy laughters and cheerful voices rang on campus. Even though Qi Le An was actually in his twenties, he was excited to feel the atmosphere.

Chen Shan, on the other hand, looked rather unimpressed. He didn’t want to recall his high school days at all.

After meeting the teachers, Qi Le An received his textbooks and uniform. The international department’s tuition fees were expensive, and the facilities were excellent, the uniforms looked fashionable, Qi Le An looked forward to his first semester.

The teachers of the international department were very friendly and professional, they didn’t treat Qi Le An differently because he was a celebrity. To Qi Le An’s surprise, the head teacher in his class was his tutor in his winter holiday!

Chen Shan brought Qi Le An to the mall after they got everything, he bought a set of stationery for the boy.

“I’m really becoming Chen Mama,” Chen Shan said that while holding Qi Le An’s stuff, “I’m your manager, your driver, your assistant.”

Qi Le An smiled and said, “Thank you Chen Mama, you are the best!”

Chen Shan was amused by Qi Le An’s cheeky smile.

When they left the mall, the two of them were photographed by some reporter who was luring around. However, Qi Le An was in such a good mood that he didn’t even mind. Instead, he went forward and handed the reporter a red packet generously, “I’m going to school tomorrow. Please show mercy to me.”

Qi Le An figured he was seen buying school supplies, so the news of him going back to school was probably impossible to hide. He might as well be honest with the reporters and make his school life easier.

The reporter took the red packet and let him alone happily. Qi Le An was humble and he had been on good terms with the reporters. The reporters were misled by Uncle at one point, they wrote some hurtful articles about Qi Le An. After the truth was revealed, everyone felt so guilty towards such a good kid.

The reporters immediately assured Qi Le An that they wouldn’t reveal which school he was going when Qi Le An made overtures to them, they said they would do their best to protect his privacy.

With that Chen Shan drove Qi Le An home.

“You need to be school by eight o’clock tomorrow. Wait, do I have to pick you up and drive you to schoo every day?” Chen Shan had just realized that.

“I can get a cab I suppose.” Qi Le An said this half-jokingly.

Chen Shan rolled his eyes and said, “We can talk about that later, I’ll drive you tomorrow, it’s your first day. Are you excited?”

Qi Le An nodded.

“All righty then…I’ll pick you up at noon for lunch as well. I’m going to find a driver and a housekeeper for you, it that okay? “Chen Shan slumped on the sofa and asked.

Of course Qi Le An had no objections. He felt sorry for asking Chen Shan to drive him around, so he really appreciated Chen Shan’s suggestion. He was back at school now, and he couldn’t eat takeaway all the time, so he could really use a housekeeper and enjoy home cooked food as well.

Seeing that Qi Le An agreed, Chen Shan nodded, “That’s perfect. Good night then, I’ll pick you up tomorrow at half past seven. Haha, you need to wear your school uniform every day, haha! I don’t have to worry about your fashion any more.”

Chen Shan showed a genuine smile thinking about that.

Qi Le An was a good-looking boy, Chen Shan liked to buy clothes for him. But at one point he got tired of it because the newspaper would always get so critical of the starlet’s fashion. It became a chore for him to style Qi Le An every single day. Chen Shan now just felt relieved Qi Le An had to wear school uniforms every day.

Not long after Chen Shan left, Qi Le An suddenly received a message saying he had got a package. He couldn’t recall he had bought anything. He couldn’t help but check the delivery number and found that it was sent from City B in the morning.

Qi Le An’s heart started pounding on seeing ‘City B’, that was where Wei Chang Feng was at.

He darted downstairs to get the package.

He couldn’t wait to open the small package when he got back home. It was an exquisite pencil case filled with pens and pencils.

There was a card inside as well. Qi Le An had immediately recognized the handwriting: You can do it, An.

It was from Wei Chang Feng!

Not only did he see the message, but he had sent him a present!

It was a simple card, but Qi Le An knew that Wei Chang Feng must be sincere when he was writing it!

He placed the pencil case in his bag, and stared at his bag with a goofy smile.

A thousand miles away, Wei Chang Feng who was still resting in bed had got a new message saying his package was delivered and signed.

Wei Xin’an who was thumbing through a book by his side couldn’t help but say, “Stop playing with your phone.”

Wei Chang Feng smiled warmly, “It’s just a text message.”

Wei Xin’an raised her head and, “Just a text message? I remember you getting a text message this morning and insisting on going out to the post office. If it weren’t for mom, I’m afraid you would have been all over the news right now!”

Wei Chang Feng smiled apologetically.

He was discharged from hospital a few days ago, his parents were shocked when they saw him in a wheelchair. They scolded him for hiding this from them. And they had extended their stay to look after Wei Chang Feng, they wished they could convince Wei Chang Feng to go abroad with them.

Their family house finally became lively for the first time in almost ten years.
