As Maria was continuing her bombardment on the golem, not far from her location was a group of players making their way up the mountain.

"So, Kris, there's still no info on that girl?"

"Yes, boss...for some reason, after she arrived at the city she suddenly disappeared. Then after a week or so she reappeared in the Magic Tower briefly before being abducted by an NPC. Until now there's still no info about her whereabouts..."

"Damn...but, it's not like we can recruit her anymore. I hear that she's a part of the Fallen Angels guild."

"Yes, boss. From what I hear she's even the founder and the current guild leader is only a stand-in."

The two who were talking were Kris and Briar, the man who wanted to rope in Maria into his guild. On the two's shoulders was a guild insignia depicting a demonic hand grasping onto an orb.

This signified that the two were already in a guild. The name of their guild was Demon Hand and it was a guild that housed a number of beta testers. It was one of the leading guilds in the dark faction.

Currently, there were 5 powerful guilds in the dark faction due to them having many beta testers in their ranks. Briar's Demon Hand, the Fallen Angels, Dark World, Eclipse, and the Lunar Temple.

For some reason, these two had the misunderstanding that Maria was the one who created the Fallen Angels guild.

Maria was indeed a Fallen Angel, but she had no affiliation with that or any other guild. Other than seeing them that one time on the World Announcement, she had no idea who they were.

"Well, it doesn't matter now. Just one person isn't enough to change anything in this game. Let's just go help the newbies grind some levels and run the Enoch Mountain Summit Dungeon."

"Okay...but boss, I wonder...what're you doing here? Don't you have more important things to do?"

"Uhh, well, I thought I'd build up my image to the newbies. Every day there are more new players joining the game so if people know that I have a good image as a guild leader, then more people will flock to join our guild!"

"Y-yes...but shouldn't the guild master be at the frontlines leading the dungeon raids alongside our core members?"

"Don't worry about that. DarkBlade has it covered."

"Vice? Well, if you say so. Thanks for helping me out with today's dungeon run then."

"Let's just say I owed you from back then. Consider this as payment."

"Sure."

A newbie member of the guild walked up to the two leaders and hesitantly spoke up.

"G-guild Leader and Captain..."

"Yes?" Kris replied.

"Uhm...what's that in the air? It looks like a player, but I'm not so sure..."

"Huh?"

Kris and Briar immediately turned their attention to what the newbie was pointing at and saw the object of their previous conversation.

"It's that girl!"

"B-boss, look, she's using magic!"

"What?! I thought it was reported that she was a priestess?!"

"Remember boss...in Unitale, anyone could learn magic..."

"I know that, but this early?! Are you kidding me?!"

They looked up at the absurd scene of the girl throwing down fire balls in set intervals at whatever it was she was targeting from the air. The group slowly moved closer to Maria's location and saw that she was attacking a golem.

"She's soloing that?" Briar said in a hushed tone.

"Damn...she's not even using that axe of hers...is she planning to kill it with just spells?"

"It must be a higher ranked spell than [Fire] and [Flame Bomb]. Look at how much damage she's dealing."

It wasn't long before Maria finished off the golem with only her [Fire] spell and completed Paimon's last request and her main quest, A Mage's Path.

[80,000 exp acquired (x4 multiplier)]

[Objective completed: Follow Paimon's Instructions (10/10)]

[Quest completed: A Mage's Path

Rewards received: +1000 FAV with Paimon, Paimon's Magic Tome, +100 INT, +500,000 EXP, Spell Book: Ruin]

When Maria saw that her quest was completed she cheered happily in the air. She was just about to rush over to Paimon, but Lilah quickly appeared in front of her and a message window appeared.

[Acquired Golem Core x1, Iron Ore x10, Copper Ore x15, Earth Crystal x1, Spell Book: Earth Spike]

"Thanks Lilah!"

"It's a pleasure Master. I think we should head over to Paimon now."

"Yes~"

Once Maria arrived next to Paimon, the Arch Mage only looked back at her with a wide smile.

"Hehe~ I knew that you could do it. With this your training is complete."

*DING* [Paimon is rewarding you with the Sub-class, Magus. Accept YES/NO?]

[Warning: Choosing the Magus sub-class locks the special class in place and you cannot change it later.]

Maria didn't see any harm in becoming a Magus. She quickly pressed [YES] and a sub-class was added to her [Status].

"Hm, you sure didn't disappoint. I'll be heading back now." Paimon said with a satisfied nod.

"Okay~ see ya later Paipai~!"

"Yeah, sure..." Paimon smirked at her and quickly activated [Teleport] and disappeared.

"Alright...now let's—wait a minute...did...did Paipai just leave me here?" Maria said when she recalled Paimon's previous smirk.

"It would seem so Master..."

"That...that stupid jeeeerrrrrrkkkkk!!!" Maria screamed.

Her scream echoed in the mountains and the players below her couldn't help but stare incredulously at her.

From their perspective, what they saw was the girl finally destroying the golem single-handedly before rushing off to a different direction and began talking to herself in mid-air and then began cheering about something. After that she started screaming in anger and this caused them all to look weirdly at her.

The players couldn't see Paimon since the Arch Mage had casted [Invisibility] on himself.

"W-what an eccentric girl..."

"Boss...do you see her shoulder."

"Hm?"

"There's nothing there! She's not affiliated with any guild! Those Fallen Angels bastards were lying to us!"

"What?!"

When the two players focused their eyes on Maria's avatar, they noticed that she indeed did not have a guild insignia on her shoulder.

"This is our chance then! We can recruit her! Hurry Kris, call out to her!"

"S-sure... but...that girl disappeared again..."

"What?!"

"Look, she's gone..."

"Which direction did she head off to?"

"I'm not sure. She was just circling in the air for a while before flying into a cloud and disappearing."

"Dammit...let's hurry up and finish the dungeon run. I'll have the rest of the guild stay alert for her."

"Yes, boss!"

******

High up in the sky, Maria was currently busy running away from a flock of bird monsters that had suddenly attacked her.

When she had accidentally flown into a cloud, Maria was surprised to see a flock of monster birds called Iron Hawks inside of it.

The monsters were level 40, exactly double her level. Around 10 of the monsters from the flock aggroed onto Maria and began chasing her.

Maria wasn't stupid and she knew that if she were to try and attack these monsters, there wasn't going to be a good end for her.

"Ugh...just my luck! After Paipai abandons me, these stupid birds come and attack me!"

"M-Master, more flying, less talking!"

"Y-yeah!"

The two quickly fled like headless flies, running around in random directions. She wanted to try and use a [Fire] spell on the birds, but she was too flustered to successfully chant and activate the spell.

She tried a couple of times but the spell failed to activate.

"Why is magic so hard to use?!"

"F-first of all master, you can't be flustered and you MUST calmly chant the incantation! If you're all panicky like this, you'll fail to activate the magic no matter how many times you chant!"

"Agh! This is so stupid!"

"M-master...how about we call for help! Actually, we can even lead these monsters to some other players and use them as bait so we could run away!"

"W-what?! That's so mean!"

"It's better than us dying!"

Maria couldn't help but gawk at her fairy's cruel suggestion. When she looked down and saw multiple groups of players down on the grass field below her, she couldn't help but be tempted. She didn't want to die after all.

"Actually wait...let's slowly grind these monsters down! I have more skills than just my spells!"

"?"

Maria turned around and began flying backwards. It was much slower than flying normally, but she needed to do this in order to catch all the birds in her field of vision.

As the birds drew closer, Maria was able to see only 7 birds chasing after her. After flying for so long, the original 10 was reduced to only 7 since she had moved away from their aggro range.

She activated [Gehenna's Eye] and black flames immediately burst onto the monsters. The monsters all shrieked in pain before plummeting to the ground.

"Yes! We can do this Lilah! It's our turns to become the hunters! Let's gogogo!"

Maria pulled out her Calamity and dove down to attack the falling Iron Hawks. She sent her feathers to attack and chanted the [Fire] spell. This time around, she was able to activate it.

The monsters were plummeting too fast to the ground. Just flinging her spell was nowhere fast enough for it to reach the bird before exploding and dealing no damage to the monster, she had to think of something else or else the spell will just blow up in her face again.

She eyed her Calamity before a light bulb lit up in her head. She quickly tossed the flame into the air and swung her axe after taking aim. The axe smashed the flame into the closest Iron Hawk that was affected by Lilah's [Faerie Fire] and the spell blew up right as it made contact with the monster, dealing a large amount of damage.

-3,580

"Ohohoh! That's possible too?! That's so cool!"

Maria yelled in excitement and activated [Calamity Cleave] on the hapless bird and sent it smashing into the ground.

-475

BOOOM

-25,000

Falling from such a height was deadly and the monster was immediately crushed to death by the fall.

[Acquired 100,000 exp (x4 multiplier)]

The surrounding players who were happily hunting the monsters on the plains were startled at the large explosions that occurred mid-air and then on the ground. Maria continued to conjure [Fire] spells and bombard the birds who were struggling to get into the air again.

All of them sustained large damage from the fall and her [Gehenna's Eye] so they were struggling to flap their wings and take to the air.

If one of them managed to do so, Maria would just send a [Fire], [Angel's Rage], [Arc Swing], or a [Calamity Cleave] at it and smash it back down into the ground.

"Hahaha! Take this you stupid birds!"
