The Messenger of Death

Lex wanted to run out of the vicinity of the shelves but decided against it because Nana had started to walk towards him.

He held his spear in his hands and pointed it at Nana. He decided to take the gamble and attack her till he sees an opening that he can use and escape the library.

"Oh, I like your courage, Alexander." She waved her hand and every book that she made to levitate shot at Lex. He was now surrounded by thousands of books. They came from every corner and angle.

-Whoosh.

Lex activated his bloodline ability and his fighting prowess was the same as that of a rank-1 disaster realm cultivator.

He could now feel and see everything that was within a certain radius. Including Nana's actions.

-Vnnn!!!

Every book that was within the territory of his ability, passed through spatial holes and they appeared in random directions.

-Boom!!

There were books all over the entrance of the library.

['Why didn't you send her away too? That would have been easier.'] Al asked.

['Because I can't, she's heavy. Sending objects through spatial holes is much easier. But trying to open a spatial hole around her, even when she's within the reach of my ability is like trying put my hand inside the eye of a needle.'] Lex mentioned.

['I don't understand what you mean by that'] Al said.

Nana's eyes were wide open. For a second there, she felt like her whole body was about to move even as she did not attempt to do so herself. And all the books that were within a certain area disappeared.

Previously, she thought that Lex couldn't do what he had been doing if the targets were above a certain number. Now she knows that his ability has a territory and she wanted to explore its limits.

The confusion on Nana's face changed into an excited smile and she started to giggle.

"Give it your all, kid." She took a step forward and the next thing she too had started to levitate.

Every book insight joined her.

"Play with me, Alexander." She stated, lightly.

['This b*tch, she still has the audacity to say such. Switch with me Lex, I will burn every book in this library.'] Al demanded.

['No, that wouldn't be of any use. If you haven't noticed, nothing has happened to the books that crashed on the walls. Either the covers of these books are incredibly hard or she did something to them. Either way, I don't think your flames will do anything but make everywhere hot.'] Lex rejected his demand.

['Besides, we don't know what her cultivation realm, but I reckon that it's a realm that we can't compete with.'] He added.

['Attack her, Lex. Just try not to go overboard and lose yourself in the process.'] Xander suggested.

"I'll try," Lex whispered as he started to blush again.

Nana pushed her hands out and thousands of books shot at Lex.

-Vnn!! Vnnn!! Vnn!!!

-Boom!!

Every book that reached the territory of Lex's spatial territory vanished as soon as they entered. He didn't even have time to attack Nana. The books kept on attacking non-stop.

This had been going on for a while. Lex was getting weaker as time passed, the speed at which he changed the course of the books reduced. Before, when they came into his territory they disappeared as soon as they were in. Now it took him up to 2 seconds to complete this feat.

"You are getting slower, Alexander." Nana noticed, she paused her attack. "Do you want a 30 seconds break so you can catch your-"

'Just what I've been waiting for.' A crazed smile crawled up Lex's face.

-Vnn!

He jabbed the tip on his spear, behind him and it passed through the air then materialized right in front of Nana.

When she saw only the blade of the spear materialize in front of her and aiming for her neck, she stopped talking then raised a finger on her right hand and pointed at the tip of the blade.

The spear touched her finger and what she didn't expect, happened. She felt it pierce the tip of her finger. Within the frame of a second, she removed her finger and dodged the spear instead.

'This weapon, what is it?' At the level of cultivation, Nana was, she didn't have to fear the weapon that those in this lower plain realm, use. She thought that Lex's spear was just like every other weapon, but the little drop of her blood on the tip of Lex's spear told her otherwise.

Lex's shy countenance had gone and was replaced by the bloodlusting side of him.

"Hehehe." He gave a short laugh and returned his spear to his side.

'He can do that too. This ability, it's like he's manipulating space. I thought that those that could do this were only those in folklores.' Nana thought to herself.

Lex didn't waste much time before he jabbed his spear at her again, from he stood.

-Vnn.

Nana used the side of her left palm to hit the spear away as it approached her. She quickly grabbed the pole of the spear before Lex could drag it back.

Now a part of the spear was in the hands of Nana and the other was in Lex's hand. If there was a spectator for their fight, to their eyes it would look like Nana was holding one part of a broken spear and the other part, in Lex's hand.

She pulled the spear and it forcefully left Lex's grip. It passed through the spatial hole completely.

Nana tightened her grip on the spear. She couldn't tell what it was exactly, but she knew that the spear was incredible.

"Where did you get this weapon?" She frowned. "Who are you, Alexander?"

Lex stayed silent. He put hands behind him and brought out the black Knife that Al brought out before Drake came into his suite.

He charged at her with the knife hidden in the sleeve of his orange uniform.

"Oh, direct combat? I'm liking you more and more with each passing minute. Come, let's end this with our hands." Nana let go of every book she made levitate with her telekinesis, and dropped to the ground.

'That speed isn't what a rank-3 nascent realm cultivator should be capable of.' Lex just kept giving Nana surprises.

-Whoop!!

Lex threw the blade at a random place. If Nana didn't know what he could do, she would have dropped her guard and think that he had bad accuracy.

She dropped to the ground and charge at Lex with the same speed he was using to charge at her.

-Vnnn!

Before the blade he threw landed on the shelf that was in its part, it vanished and appeared at Nana's 3 o'clock.

-Ding!

She used the spear in her hand to hit the blade away.

-Vnnn!

The blade came back, approaching her from her 6 o'clock this time.

-Ding!!!

She hit it harder this time.

-Vnnn!

The blade came back faster this time, due to the level of force that she used to hit.

"You can even use your ability like this." She chuckled. "But this wouldn't be enough."

-Ding!!!

She hit it again, directing it at Lex.

Lex removed one of the twin twilight swords from the ring and posed like he was going to use it to block the knife. But as soon as it reached him, he opened a spatial hole and it was heading back to Nana.

He tossed the sword in his hand up, then jumped and kicked it hard. Sending it flying at her.

"Using two weapons wouldn't make a difference too," Nana said. She was enjoying the fight with Lex.

-Ding.

She hit the knife away and moved to the side at the last second before the sword could hit her. She knew that if she dodged too early, Lex would be able to change its course.

Now Nana was constantly dodging and hitting the weapons that kept on coming back to her from random angles, like they had a homing system and she was the target they were being drawn too.

Lex then brought out the bow in his ring. The bow was a compound type of bow.

Nana noticed that Lex had a new weapon in his hand. She could see the bow, but there was no arrow. She watched as Lex pulled the string with all seriousness and aimed at her.

Due to all the strange things that Lex had shown Nana, she couldn't underestimate whatever he did or else she might get hurt.

-Twang!!

He let go of the string. Nana was at alert, waiting to see an arrow appear out of thin air. But after dodging and parrying the sword and knife for a while, nothing new approached her. She was confused now.

Lex did the same thing again, he pulled the bowstring and let go.

-Twang!!

Nana still stayed on alert when she heard that sound again.

Lex started to run circles around Nana, paving his way and hiding behind shelves. He repeated this for a while.

She had started to get fed up with his strategy, she threw his spear back at him when he hid behind a shelf.

While Lex was behind the shelf, he removed the other twilight twin sword and threw it at the wall in the distance. He did so, just so he could catch Nana when she least expects it.

When he stepped out, he saw the spear approaching him and he smiled.

-Vnn!!

Both the spear and the second twilight sword vanished. Now 4 weapons were heading for Nana. He pulled the string of the bow again.

-Twang!

The sound that the bow had been making was irritating to Nana now.

And it was the right distraction that Lex needed. He had been doing this just so he could direct her attention away from when he added another weapon.

"Do something new kid." She said after she maneuvered her way through 3 of the weapons in the air.

Just as she landed on the floor, the last weapon appeared behind her. Nana wasn't expecting it but with her battle experience, and level of cultivation she was able to notice it at the last second.

-Whoosh.

She jumped and twisted her body, despite that, her cloth was still cut by the sword.

When she got her bearing and saw the tear on the stomach area of her nightgown, she got furious.

"Sneaky kid!"

Suddenly she vanished and appeared in front of Lex. She raised her pinky finger and used it to touch his forehead.

Lex saw her but he couldn't do anything, he had been restrained again.

She pushed his head back.

-Thud!

Lex dropped to the ground, as he passed out…
