The Messenger of Death

Chapter 90: cauldron

"Uhh, Drake, I think it would be better if you slept on the couch. And maybe get something to help you with the pain." Camron suggested.

He waited for drake to say something. "I think he passed out." Adrian went closer and kicked his leg lightly. "Yup, he's out cold."

['Al, I think it would be better if you get started on the poison now.'] Alex said.

['Huh, why? Today, I do what I want to do, not what you want me to do.']

['I also think that you should do that. You know the saying, the earlier the better. Besides, you are the better alchemist amongst us, we can't have Alex doing this now, can we.'] Xander tried to coerce Al by praising him.

['Hey, don't put it like that. You make it sound like I'm a quack.'] Alex defended.

['Aren't you?'] Al insisted.

He stopped walking in the direction of his room. ['What would you guys do without me.?'] Al sighed and shook his head. ['I guess I will have to attend to you later.'] He was looking at his nether region when he said that. He turned back and walked further away from his room.

['Wait what!!?? You will do no such thing!'] Alex screamed at Al, but Al acted like he couldn't hear him.

'How does it feel to be ignored now, asshole?' Al thought to himself.

['Where are you going to now?'] Lex asked.

['To procure what we need to prepare the poison.']

['And rabbit, every second I use in doing this wouldn't be counted as part of the deal.']

['F*ck you!'] Alex cursed at him.

Al smiled and said; "Music to my ears."

He came to the living again and saw Adrian and Camron tending to Drake's injured stomach. Emma was busy trying to comfort Katherine who had relapsed into squatting and blushing at what happened between her and Al today.

"You are going out?" Camron asked him.

"Yeah, I'm heading out to go get something." He wasted no time in leaving the room after he said that…

When Al passed by the reception, he saw the receptionist whispering to herself. It looked like she was in a trance. When he listened closely to what she was whispering he heard her saying; "I have fallen, I am poop now. I am poop. I am poop."

['Is she drunk?'] Al thought.

['Who knows, she is just as unpredictable as you are.'] Xander answered.

Al stepped out of the inn and stood still. He had been in that same spot for a while.

['Why are you just standing there, is your brain glitching?'] Alex blurted out.

['We use the same brain genius, and if there's a glitch it would be you.']

['blah blah blah. Why are you standing here?']

"Because I don't know where exactly I am supposed to get what I need…"

Alex remained silent, he was fed up with bickering with Al.

['Hey rabbit, say something.'] Alex refused to speak to him.

['Just head to the library and ask Nana where we could get what we need.] Lex suggested.

"Yeah, that's a good idea." He moved from where he was and went for the library…

A while later Al was pushing the doors to the library open.

He walked to where Alex had seen Nana the first time he stepped into the library. "Hello!" He called out when he didn't see Nana where he expected to see her.

"Hello!!" His loud voice echoed in the library.

"Ouch!!"

Al cried out because someone had pinched him on his ribs. He looked down at his ribs and saw that there was no sign of anyone's hand there. Al looked up, searching for the perpetrator of his throbbing and possibly, bleeding ribs.

"You know if it was some else I would have done more than that for shouting in the library. Be grateful that all I did to you, was a pinch."

The familiar voice of Nana reached his ears. "I was searching for you, that's why I had to do that."

"Really, why are you looking for me?" She appeared before Al now.

The dark circles that were under Nana's eyes the first time Alex saw her, were non-existent now. She tidied herself up, only that she still left her hair rough and she was still in the white nightgown.

Al shamelessly checked her features out.

She cocked her head and said; "You seem to be a lot more sincere than you were the last time you came here. And your cultivation has increased, by quite a lot. You are full of surprises Alexander."

"You look a lot prettier than I remember," Al said with a smirk.

"And you look like you were run down by a bull, haha. Who did you offend? Do you want me to deal with them for you?" She walked closer to Al. when he was within her reach, she bent down a bit, so she could properly check his injuries.

"You don't need to take care of that, they are already dead."

"Stay still," Nana commanded. She used her hands to touch his ribs lightly. The lower she went the more cleavage showed while she was examining his ribs.

Al's eyes were on her chest. If she wasn't stronger than he was, he would have made a move on her.

['Quit looking mutt, before she finds out.'] Alex warned but Al didn't respond.

"Fractured ribs. Hmm, the rest of your injuries seem to be healing properly. Does this hurt?" She applied a little force on his abdomen.

Al was too busy enjoying the pleasant sight of Nana's cleavage that he didn't hear the question.

Nana noticed what he was staring at. She stood properly and used her hand to raise Al's chin. "I asked you a question." She said as she stared intensely into his eyes.

"Oh really, I was too occupied with the view that I didn't hear you say anything. What was the question?" There was a spark of lust in Al's eyes as he was staring at her eyes too.

"I asked if this hurt." She placed her hand on Al's chest.

He smirked and bit his lips. "That doesn't hurt at all." He took a step closer to Nana, and as he got closer he had to raise his chin higher because she was taller than he was.

"Not there." Nana's tone was risqué when she said that.

"Then where?" Al whispered.

"Down… here" Nana's tone got lower than it was.

The hand that she placed on Al's chest started to glide down his upper body. Her hands stopped right above his navel, then she straightened her index and middle finger out and hit the part that her hand stopped at.

"Argh!!!"

Al shouted in agony. As soon as his mouth was open, Nana threw a pill into his mouth and he involuntarily swallowed it.

"Gukk!!! Argh!! What the hell did you do to me and what did you just feed me?"

Nana walked further away and folded her hands on her chest as she flashes a smirk at Al.

"I treated one of the injuries in your body that were taking time to heal. A meridian there was been clothed by thick blood and I helped you clear it. Then the pill that I you ate was to boost your body's healing capabilities. I would have been more gentle about it if you hadn't been so naughty, Alexander."

She dropped her hands and the temperature in the library dropped. Al breathed out and the dew from his breath was thick.

"What's happening?" For someone that has the blood of a fire dragon flowing in him, he wasn't one to fear the cold but now, he felt very uneasy.

He threw a glance at Nana. ['The hell?'] Al took a step back and frowned. Nana's eyes looked like that of a predator, and at this moment her gaze was an intimidating one.

['Run'] Al said to himself. But he couldn't, he felt like if he turned his back at her then she would attack him.

"Kid, just because I make an exception for you doesn't mean that you are allowed to take it for granted. Watch what you think, look, or say, when you are in my library. Do you understand?"

Al nodded his head in response.

"Good, next time I wouldn't be so merciful." She finished and the temperature of the library returned to the way it was a few seconds ago.

['This woman is scary.'] Al uttered.

['Hahaha, serves you right, you pervert.'] Alex laughed at his alter.

He exhaled and calmed down.

"So, why were you looking for me?" Nana smiled like she didn't just threaten Al, not long ago.

"I wanted to ask where I could get a cauldron for alchemy." Al went straight to the point.

"What grade?" Nana asked.

"Grade? I don't know. But I want something with good quality but also a cheap price."

['Cheap bastard.'] Alex blurted out.

['It is called economics, rabbit. Something that you wouldn't understand.']

"I have several cauldrons. Would like to have a look at my collection, and maybe purchase one from me?" Nana flashed a toothy grin at him.

"Yes, but I don't want anything expensive."

"Don't worry, I will sell the grade you pick at the price lower than that in the market."

"Then please, show them to me." Al requested.
