The Messenger of Death

Chapter 327: what kymani wants

[Come on! Don't tell me that you believe that the expert on that island is Mr. Guardian?'] Al chuckled at Alex's thought.

['I don't want to believe that it is Mr. Guardian, but what if it is?'] Lex chipped in.

['Come on guys, think about it! it can't be him, maybe it's some knock-off expert that's residing on that island, but it shouldn't be Mr. Guardian, he wouldn't alert people or make them know of the whereabouts of the Midas petals. And the no-fly zone placed above the sea has been there for a long time. If not, why would the prisoners remain here and know nothing about the island for a long time?'] Al finished.

['Your argument is viable, but what if it isn't? You can't claim to know Mr. Guardian that well to say what he would do and wouldn't do, after all, he did let us take the Midas petal when we aren't seed carriers and said that it was fate's doing. What if it is the same for the prisoners too?'] Lex argued.

['That's… Your point can also be taken into consideration.'] Al muttered.

['Enough of the argument guys. Whether it is Mr. Guardian that's there or not doesn't really matter. What matters is that we get to the Midas petal before anyone else.'] Xander interrupted their debate.

['Exactly, so, what do we do? Are we going to make way towards that island and check it out first, or wait for the system to figure a way out for us?'] Alex asked.

['I say that we go to the island first. Since the direction's already been generalized, we might be able to figure it out on our own.'] Al mentioned.

['I agree with that too.'] Lex concurred.

['I also agree with that… but according to Kymani, we need a Heaven realm cultivator if we want to pass the sea safely.'] Alex pointed out.

['In our case, we have the blood of 3 dragons, what monster is foolish enough to want to approach us?'] Al said.

['What if there is a foolish monster that ignores the suppression and attacks us because it's stronger than us? A baby tiger is a tiger but not a tiger that everyone would be wary of. We don't have the claws and fangs to use yet.'] Alex spoke wisely.

['Damn, since when did you become this good at thinking?'] Al muttered, surprised that Alex could think of that before him. ['Okay, we've got two options. We can either eat the rest of the Midas petal with us, increasing our cultivation base, or we use energy crystals to help Kymani break through to the Heaven cultivation realm.'] Al stated.

['But here are the repercussions. If we take the rest of the Midas petal now, we might even make it to the Heaven realm, and even if we don't, we can make it to the Sky cultivation realm. We have Milo who is always a realm above ours and with the boost from our bloodlines, we should be safe if we encounter any problem on the sea. The only downside about this is the instruction that Nana gave about eating the rest of the petals without her permission.

And the repercussion for increasing Kymani's strength is that she might attack or betray us after helping her increase her cultivation prowess. So guys, which one do you think is more life-threatening?'] Al finished.

['I think we can all agree that the second option is the safest… Nana might actually kill us if we disobey. Why don't we leave the Midas petal for when we are actually about to die.'] Alex said quickly.

['No doubt there, rabbit.'] Al concurred with his answer.

['I wouldn't have picked the first too.'] Lex mentioned.

['We're all in this together.'] Xander said.

In truth, the first option was the safest pick at the moment, but deep down, they were all afraid of what Nana was going to do to them if they disobeyed her and that fear surpassed the one they had for Kymani who might betray them. And the reason why they didn't fear her betrayal is that there were ways they could take to avoid that, after all, they had some knowledge about Runes.

['Xander, ask her of what she wants and let's get this over with.'] Al suggested.

['Was just about to do that.'] Xander replied.

"What exactly do you want from me?" Xander questioned as he stared into Kymani's eyes coldly, and folded his arms in front of his chest as he leaned back on the chair.

Kymani took in a deep breath before replying to Xander. "If you had deduced a few things from the narration I just gave a few seconds ago, you would be aware that cultivation materials are scarce over at this part of the forest. And I said previously, I would give anything in exchange for the cultivation materials…" She started and spoke to Xander respectfully.

"Now I know that almost everyone in this forest is a criminal one way or another and giving us a chance to escape this prison might be against your principles, so think about it this way, you are not helping us escape, but sending us to a higher plain where we would have to behave properly," Kymani uttered.

"I don't care about that," Xander revealed. "Just tell me what it is exactly that you want from me, stop beating around the bush, or I might just lose interest in all of this," Xander said.

['What she wants is quite obvious.'] Alex mentioned.

['But it would better if she says it on her own.'] Al said.

"Okay, okay. I would be very grateful if you give me some cultivation pills or a miraculous fruit that can help increase my cultivation realm, just enough to help me get to the Heaven cultivation realm… even if it's just 120 blue LD-ECs it would suffice." Kymani had to speak to Xander respectfully because she thought that there was an expert here with him, one that she couldn't dare to offend. So if she wants anything from him, she couldn't try to intimidate him anymore. A pleading approach was her only option at the moment.

But this attitude of hers was just dependent on her own thoughts and deduction from the way Xander had been acting and how he found out about the direction of the island. Xander and the rest couldn't understand why she was been so respectful.

['Did I put something in that wine that I'm not aware of, or is that the effect of mixing healing pills with this particular wine?'] Al wondered after seeing the way Kymani spoke to them respectfully.

['Maybe…'] Alex uttered.

"I can give the energy crystals to you, but only on two conditions," Xander replied calmly, making Kymani's eyes light up in joy.

'I knew that this kid wasn't normal. From his expression, I can see that blue, low-density energy crystals aren't of much use to him. His family must be very rich, and strong.' She thought. "What are the conditions?" Kymani asked hesitantly.

"The first condition is that from the moment you break through to the Heaven cultivation realm, you are to act as my bodyguard until you cross over to the Ordain plain realm."

From what Xander just said, Kymani could tell that he wanted to follow them to the island, and also, he had no plans of crossing over to the Ordain plain realm. This confused her, who didn't want to crossover to a higher plain realm? She nodded her head in response to the first condition, signifying that she had no qualms with it.

"The second is that you sign a contract with me, stating that under no circumstances will you ever betray me. The contract won't be harmful to you too." Xander mentioned.

The mentioning of a contract brought a frown upon Kymani's face. "And how exactly will the contract make sure that I don't betray you? Who is going to oversee it?" She questioned.

"Don't worry about that, the Laws of the universe will oversee the contract," Xander stated.

Xander brought out the glass-like knife in his storage ring and used his telekinesis to make it float in front of him. This shocked Kymani, even someone with her cultivation wouldn't necessarily be able to do what Xander is doing at the moment.

"Are you an alchemist?" She asked as her curiosity began getting the best of her. Someone with Xander's talent is very rare to come across.

Xander ignored her question and closed his eyes. He began simulating the runes needed to make the contract in his mind. After a while, Xander began inscribing on the air, blue lines of runic alphabets filled Kymani's sight.

Kymani quickly stood up from her seat and stared at Xander with more reverence, she gulped down her saliva, and so did the rest of the women that were watching Xander inscribe. "He's an Etruscan runemaster!" Kymani exclaimed.

Xander is the youngest Etruscan runemaster that she had come across, and also, the speed at which he was inscribing was the fastest that she had ever seen. Even Argus that had been watching Xander couldn't hide his shock, even after he had told himself not to be surprised by anything he sees from Alexander.

"Just where did this boy come from?" He muttered.
