The Messenger of Death

Chapter 32: from a dragon

With wide eyes, Camron stared at the spearhead. Alex noticed where Camron's attention was and he also turned his attention to the spearhead.

'Woah.' Alex exclaimed in his mind.

He raised his hand and attempted to touch it. Seeing what he was about to do, Camron jolted a bit and was about to stop him from touching the spear. But he was too late.

Camron was expecting to hear a sizzling sound. The sound of Alex's fingers being scorched. Surprisingly to him, he heard nothing from both the red spearhead and from Alex. He watched as Alex ran his fingers on the spearhead. Everywhere he touched turned the spear back to its normal color.

"Is your bloodline ability a fire elemental type?" Camron who was still in shock asked.

"Yes, it is," Alex answered proudly.

['Hmph. Show off.'] Al muttered.

Camron snapped out of his shock then turned his attention to the pond. Upon seeing the pond he fell back into being shocked. The water in the pond had reduced drastically. Alex also took notice of the changes that had happened to the pond.

-Phwwwwht!

Alex whistled. 'It was that hot??' He thought.

**********

Reginald who had been keeping an eye on Alex personally was frightened by what he saw.

'This feels like the might of a class-3 bloodline. The heat from the flames.' A drop of sweat traveled down from his temple to his cheek. He glanced at the spearhead and swallowed.

'It seems like he is not an enemy. As there are no class-3 fire elemental bloodline bearers in the western continent. Camron was right. I better report this to the lord.'

He arched his body and was about to leave the vicinity, but he stopped halfway and glanced at the pond. Reginald sucked in a cold breath. Not long after, he disappeared from his position.

************

Camron turned his attention back to Alex and stared at him seriously.

"What is your bloodline class?" He finally asked the question that had been eating his mind away since their first encounter.

"Guess," Alex smirked.

"A class-3 bloodline?" He said almost immediately. Alex frowned at his answer.

"That's a disappointment." He uttered, feeling insulted.

"Really? Then what class is it?" He pushed on.

"The highest class. Class-1 primordial bloodline." He raised his head and pushed his chest out.

['Liar. Just tell him that we are an abomination.'] Al said. Alex chooses to ignore Al.

Camron looked at Alex weirdly. He doubted every word he just uttered.

"What? Why are looking at me like that? You don't believe me, do you?"

"I do not believe you," Camron confirmed.

"Why not?"

"Because the only people with a class-1 bloodline are the royal families."

"Well, that's bullshit. I am a class-1 bloodline bearer. What will I gain from lying to you? Believe what you want." Seeing Alex's stern and unchanging gaze, Camron started to believe his words.

"Are you from a royal family? From what realm? Should I call you your highness or your majesty?" He threw his questions at Alex.

"Hey, I didn't say that I was from any royal family. You made such assumptions on your own."

Camron kept quiet for a little while. Then he said;

"One last question, your bloodline, from what primordial beast is it?"

Alex cocked his head and grinned.

"From a dragon." His reply left Camron speechless. He didn't know what next to say.

'A dragon. Then he might be from the realm of Dragons.' Camron at the moment took two steps back, in reverence of Alex.

"No more questions now. I have asked and answered more questions than I have in my entire life, in the past few days. I want to go back to my training, don't distract or disturb me."

"Training, can I watch?"

"I said no more questions! Watch if you want to watch." Alex permitted.

['Are you still going to try and make some connection with space?'] Lex asked

['I just said no more question. And no, I'm not going to attempt anything that has to do with my spatial abilities. I think I should try using fire.']

['Just because you were lucky the first time doesn't mean that you will be again. And I clearly remember saying that I wouldn't teach you anything.'] Al snapped after hearing Alex's intentions.

['I never said that I wanted your Assistance. I am going to do this on my own.']

['And how exactly are you going to do that? Mr. Genius'] Al mocked.

Alex scoffed and a wicked grin appeared on his face.

['I already know how I triggered it; with anger. Or if I am to be specific, my emotions. The raging feel of blood rushing to my heart and brain, then I vented it out by waving the spear.']

He raised the spear and whirled it. "Let us find out if I am wrong or right."

-Whoosh!

Alex waved the spear and a line of flames emerged from the tip of the spear once more, but this time it was not as furious as the last one. He aimed for the sky this time, to avoid turning the pond into a desert.

-Whoosh! Whoosh!

Alex waved the spear several times and with every wave came a line of flames. He grinned like he had never. The feeling of triumph. The joy of not having to resort to his alters for help. As he shot flames into the sky he could feel his blood boil, the rush, he felt his strength increase exponentially; like his cultivation rank had increased.

['Hahaha, now I can fight those eight-ranks above me.'] He was filled with joy at the moment.

['Congratulations Alex.'] Lex said sincerely. While Al and Xander remained silent.

['What's wrong Al? No funny or insulting remarks?'] Alex took his chance and mocked Al. even after his mocking Al still didn't give him a reply.

'Go ahead and sulk.' Alex thought privately in his head.

Camron who had been watching from the side was sweating, due to the heat that came from the flames that Alex created.

'Even from that distance, I can feel the heat emanating from it. If my cultivation realm was weaker I might have gotten first-degree burns.' He watched Alex as he was whirling his spear skillfully. He flashed a smile.

'There's no need to look for a royal family to pledge my allegiance to when there is a shining star right in front of me. The heavens really love me.'

"Hahahahaha!" He couldn't stop himself from laughing.

Hearing Camron laugh like a mad man, Alex stopped spewing flames from his spear. He felt like Camron was mocking him.

"Why the f*ck are you laughing? Do I look funny to you?" He snapped at Camron.

"Huh, no. I wasn't laughing at you." He explained with a smile on his face. But Alex still doubted it.

"Well, you should be quiet. You ruined my concentration."

Alex kept his spear back in his ring and sat down on the ground. He felt that something was different. The grass that used to be moist was now black. They got burnt by the heat from the flames he had been throwing out. Nonetheless, he still sat down there.

['What are you doing now?'] Lex questioned.

['Even if it will take me another hour, I want to see if I would be able to trigger or find a way to use the lightning element.'] Alex grinned.

Lawrence's study…

-Rat-a-tat.

Lawrence who was sitting on his chair, raised his head as he heard a knock on his door. Reginald's voice came after.

"My lord. I have news concerning young master Camron's friend."

"Come in." Lawrence permitted.

Reginald stepped in and closed the door gently. He bowed to his employer.

"Tell me what the news is Reginald."

"My lord. The young boy Alex is not from this continent."

"And where or who did you get this confirmation from?" Lawrence questioned.

"I confirmed this when I saw him use a fire elemental ability. A very strong one. The pond at the outer garden might not look the same to you anymore my lord."

Lawrence arched an eyebrow. Not at the news about the pond not looking the same to him anymore, but the news that Alex was a fire elemental class-3 bloodline bearer.

'Families with a class-3 bloodline reside in the eastern continent. Why is that kid here?' He asked himself. He nodded his head.

"Very well, good job. You don't need to watch him personally anymore, just have someone else keep an eye on him. Now that we know that he is not connected to our enemies there's no need to be on our toes. But it still doesn't mean that we can trust him yet."

"As you wish my lord." Reginald bowed. He turned and quietly left the room.

**************

Alex had been in the same position for an hour now. Camron was already getting bored watching him, he sat down a few meters away from Alex and started to cultivate.

A little while later Alex opened his eyes. He slowly got up from the ground. He sighed and shook his head.

['Still nothing.'] Lex inquired.

['Mmmm.'] He sighed again.

-Growl!

Alex's stomach growled loudly. He placed a hand on his stomach.

"Throwing flames around made me hungry." He searched for Camron and saw him sitting at a corner with his eyes closed and his hands above and below his navel.

"Camron." He called out.

"You're done." Camron opened his eyes.

"Yeah, and I am hungry." He complained.

Camron looked up and narrowed his eyes due to the rays of light from the sun. He then looked down at his shadow and said;

"It is almost time for lunch, shall we head to the dining room?"
