The Messenger of Death

Chapter 298: anticipated news

A few weeks had gone by again and Al was still in control and Alex was still okay with it. He didn't express any sort of discomfort or make serious complaints.

Deep down, this made Al happy. This meant a lot to him, but he didn't show this or say anything about it, Al just continued to be himself peacefully. Although, he did ease down on the flirting…

Because of Al's attitude, the rest of the Seraphim team members avoided Al when Camron wasn't there with them.

He either pranked them or made things look sexual unnecessary, and that made them uncomfortable to an extent. They weren't wary of him, they just weren't used to this side of Alex.

Sitting on the edge of a cliff that had a wide view of a busy side of the academy was Al. He had one of his legs dangling at the edge of the cliff as he watched the crowd unfamiliar walk around the school.

Al peaceful chewed on a meat jerky.

['Well, I guess it's time to get to work.'] Al thought.

['Finally!!'] Alex said in relief. ['So what's the plan?'] He asked.

['The plan? The plan is quite simple. I'm just going to look for a quiet place to kill Duna…']

['What!? That's it?'] Alex refused to believe what Al said.

"Yeah," Al muttered as he continued to chew on his jerky, enjoying the meaty favor that came along the dry meat.

['If that's all you could come up with we could have completed the assassination a week ago!']

"Yeah, but I was feeling way too tired to work. Looking this good takes a lot of work rabbit." Al ran his free hand over his now short hair. The length of his hair was barely half the length of his pinky finger.

['What freaking work!? You used the skin crawler to reduce the length of my hair. And for your information, I look just like you!']

"And yet I look better than you do." Al tilted his head and smiled at his reply.

Lex chuckled at Al's comment. ['You just wanted to extend the time so that you can remain in control.'] He revealed.

"When you put it like that, it sounds right," Al smirked.

['I give up on you Al.'] Alex mentioned.

['So you're just going to walk towards him and slice his throat open?'] Xander questioned.

"Yup, although I'm not going to use my face."

['I could have just used this time to focus on searching for the Midas petal. Even I could have come up with something this basic, are you even taking this seriously?'] Alex pointed out.

While Alex was ranting, Al kept his focus on a particular person and watched as he maneuvered through the crowd arrogantly.

The person that Al was focusing on was no other than Duna. He had 3 of his lackeys with him. The direction that they were heading towards was the same direction where the entrance to the snow-covered mountain.

Al propped himself up to his feet. "Whatever, I'm getting started." Finishing his jerky, Al leaped off the cliff…

About 20 minutes had gone by and Duna had no clue that he was being followed. He and his lackeys walked into the forest that was closest to the snow-covered mountain. Almost approaching the restricted part of the forest.

Surprisingly, the monsters in the forest avoided their group, or more accurately, they couldn't sense or smell Duna and his followers.

['Did the monsters here suddenly turn blind, deaf and stupid!?'] Alex wondered.

He has a little beef with the monsters in this forest because of the way Nana used them to train him.

['We can't tell, either that or they have something that makes them invisible to the monsters.'] Lex answered.

['I don't think the monsters are deaf though, they just can't see or smell Duna and his followers. Look over there.'] Al pointed at a giant fly that was as big as an elephant, with full, dark-blue on its body was flying around the vicinity.

['The fly reacted to the sounds that Duna and his follower's footsteps made, but it can't seem to locate them.'] Al added.

Due to the fact that Al had hidden his presence and made no sound even when walking and breathing, he was also invisible to the monsters here.

"Took you long enough." A voice familiar to the ears of Al echoed.

"Had to make sure that we weren't being followed," Duna answered.

"Who would want to tail you? Not everyone knows about the hate we have for Alexander. And even if you were being followed, I would have eliminated the rat the moment you arrived." The voice said.

This voice belongs to another target of Al's, Vincent.

['Oh, these two are here to rub minds together just for us. Sneaking around just to meet up with Vincent and plan my death, well at least they were wise enough not to let anyone else find out that they were meeting here.'] A wicked smile found its way to Al's lips.

His bloodlust was boiling in him and his killing intent at bay. Al made sure that an ounce of his intents didn't leak out of him.

['Since they're both here, with Milo's assistance, why don't we just kill them here?'] Alex suggested.

['That's doable, but first, I want to know what they have in store for us.'] Al resisted the urge to chuckle.

Seeing that he was being conspired against gave him joy…

"So, Teacher Vincent, what plan do you have in mind for that pesky fool and his nosy teammates?" Duna asked impatiently.

"The plan is quite easy to carry out. All you need to do is to officially challenge Alexander to a deathmatch.

If you challenge him and he agrees, after making it public that both sides have agreed to face the consequences, the next part will be the easiest." Vincent began.

['Challenging me to a death match? Well that will a be a very foolish thing to do, my cultivation realm is higher than Duna's.'] Al thought.

"Challenge him to a death match? In case you haven't figured it out, he's stronger than me now." Duna stared blankly at Vincent as he folded his arms over his chest.

['Same thing I said.'] Al smirked.

"I am aware of that, but it is not an issue. The deathmatch is going to be slightly different from a traditional deathmatch.

Make sure to include this in the conditions of accepting the challenge. The two of you must agree to have your cultivations sealed." Vincent finished.

['Haha, even with my cultivation sealed I could beat this fucktard with my eyes closed.'] Al stated.

['Either way, he's at a disadvantage.'] Lex chipped in.

['Hell yeah he is.'] Alex added.

"Although I very much hate to admit this, he's still quite a formidable opponent without his cultivation." Duna pointed out.

['Pussy!'] Al mocked.

"I am also aware of that, that's why the seal that's going to be placed on you will be fake. Fake in the sense that its effects on your cultivation will disperse a few minutes after being used." Vincent smirked as he explained his plan to Duna.

This piece of the plan brought a wicked smile to Duna's face. He wasn't expecting something like this. At this moment, Duna could already imagine the surprise and agony on Alex's face when kills him.

['Ohh, that's playing dirty, if I hadn't gone after this dumbass we might have been in for quite a surprise.'] Al seriously held back the urge to laugh out loud.

['Even we didn't know about this and agreed to the challenge, with the power of our bloodlines it should be easy to break the seal.'] Xander pointed.

Because every seal that had been placed on them could be broken easily with their bloodline power, Xander was confident that it would be no different with the seal that Vincent was planning to use.

"This will only work if he agrees to the challenge," Vincent added.

['You bet I will.'] Al answered in his mind.

"Leave that to me, I'll think of a way to make him accept the challenge," Duna replied.

"Good, once he has agreed to the deathmatch come and look for me quickly. I will be there one to oversee the match and make sure that nothing wrong happens."

Duna nodded and turned, leaving the area.

['There are two ways to do this now, either I just kill the fucktard here or wait for the deathmatch.'] Al mentioned as he watched Duna leave the area.

['Wait for the deathmatch.'] Alex said immediately.

['Why do I feel like going against what you want?'] Al wondered.

['Stupid mutt! That's it, switch back with me!'] Alex demanded for the first time since they switched.

['Hey, c'mon it's just a feeling. I didn't say that I was going-']

*System has located the source of energy!

This snapped Al's attention away from Alex. They had been waiting months for this and finally, the system has delivered.

Al quickly and silently left the area.

"System, a guide please." He said hurriedly, not carrying if any of the monsters in the forest notices him.
