The Messenger of Death

Chapter 280: crisis in the capital city ii

was Seeing the wall of the light head towards them, Alex was prepared to counter the ominous attack, but before he could do anything, Camron beat him to it. He raised his fist forward intending to go against the light.

A wave of shadows rose from the shades around and defended everyone from the wall of light. Everything happened in a flash.

Everyone was surprised to see this happen, including Camron himself. He couldn't tell how he made that happen.

"What the…" Drake exclaimed.

"Camron, how did you do that?" Emma asked with a smile on her face. This is the first time that they were seeing Camron use his elemental ability.

For Alex, he was a bit wary of what Camron did because he still felt like Ogun had corrupted or influenced Camron's ability somehow.

['I can't stop being worried about him and now that he's using the darkness element, it's not helping this feeling.'] Alex frowned.

['I don't know why you think Ogun has done anything to Camron, but that isn't the issue at hand. We have already stopped Ogun from descending to this Plain realm. He is still trapped in the space where he was sealed. Focus on the opponents ahead of you, that wall of light is not good news.'] Xander advised.

['Yeah I know… the monk with the syndicate's tattoo on his forehead used his blood to inscribe the rune 'immeasurable radiance'.'] Alex uttered.

Still possessing developing memories of the Dragnel brothers, Alex was able to read and understand what Shi Li inscribed.

['I think I can do that too.'] Alex thought to himself.

Camron was still in shock, surprised that he was able to manifest the darkness, albeit through mediums, the shades. Creating darkness from nothingness is still a feat that is hard for him to accomplish.

"Come on, tell us how you did it?" Drake insisted, his curiosity was eating at him. Even forgetting that there were dangerous individuals ahead of them.

"I don't know. I was angry and I just… poured my anger out when I saw the wall of light heading for us." Camron explained.

"Young Master Camron is indeed a talented individual." One of the guards that his mother sent out with him commented.

"Thank you, I guess," Camron replied…

"A darkness elemental user? A rare talent has appeared in front of our eyes. Amitabha." Saram mentioned.

"That's something you don't see every day," Desire chipped in.

Their conversation snapped everyone out of the surprise they were in.

"Who are you guys?" Adrian asked again.

"Your wildest fairytales, what do you think?" Pam replied with a smirk on his face.

"Do you all have the syndicate's tattoo? Are you all from the syndicate?" Adrian asked to confirm before he starts making conclusions.

"Who cares about that?" Pam acted uninterested and had a nonchalant attitude when he was replying to Adrian's questions.

"Let me ask one more question, were you the ones that caused this destruction and massacre?"

"Who, me?" Pam looked around. "I didn't do this, this is all that mad monk – Shi Li's doing." Pam pointed at Shi Li.

"If I was to kill I wouldn't waste the precious meat of the people around, especially the children and the females' own." Pam began drooling. "The sweet taste of children's meat, ohh it has been so long."

"What!!?" Almost everyone there exclaimed.

"You bastard I will-" Adrian was just in the middle of threatening Pam when he saw a light similar to the one Shi Li shot at them. But this time the light was coming from his side.

And unlike that of Shi Li, the light was more like an orb and it forming in front of Alex.

In a second, the light orb shot towards Pam, aiming for his heart.

-Ding!!

One of the rings on the silver staff that the monk was holding flew out and turned into a disc before blocking the orb of light a few yards away from Pam. After blocking the light, the ring that turned into a disc returned back to the silver staff, changing back to its original form.

"An Etruscan runemaster, and at such a young age. Such talent, young friend, don't you know that it rude to interrupt people when they are having a conversation?" Saram smiled as he spoke to Alex.

"I am not the type to care for ethics, nor am I the type that talks too much."

Quickly, much faster than it took Alex to inscribe the first ball of light, he quickly inscribed another orb of light and shot it at Pam once again.

-Ding!!

Again, a ring from Saram's silver staff went out and blocked the orb of light. In the heat of this, Shi Li inscribed the same attack, the wall of light, and sent it towards Alex. "Amitabh, all sinners should perish!" Shi Li stated.

Before the wall of light could go far, Camron dispelled it again like he did the first time.

"Rude fuck, I will feast on your meat!" Pam became infuriated that Alex targeted him twice.

-Boom!

He stamped his foot on the ground and in the weight of his feet, sending huge rocks into the air. When these rocks were airborne Pam touched all of them lightly, secretly altering the weight of the rocks too and making them lighter than natural.

"Die for me and be my supper!" Pam hit every rock that he touched, shooting these rocks like bullets and sending them towards Alex.

While hitting the rocks, a second after contact with Pam, the weight of the rocks doubled and surpassed their original weight.

Almost immediately, Drake placed his hands on the ground and a huge wall grew from the floor and blocked these rocks.

-Boom!!

The loud sound of huge, abnormally weighed rocks bombarding the wall filled the ears of everyone and deafened everyone.

Still, within the commotion, Adrian vanished from his spot, traveling through sound, and appeared right in front of Pam. He had his sword out and slashed at him.

Pam skillfully dodged the unexpected attack by reducing his weight and making it comparable to that of a feather, floating away from the attack.

-Pwheew!

"Quite a fast food," Pam commented after whistling.

Adrian scoffed at him. "You annoy me."

"He annoys me too," Irimm mumbled too. "But you have to die." Irimm, just as fast as Adrian was when attacking Pam, charged at Adrian.

His fist was just a few inches away from blowing Adrian's head away when a ring of fire was thrown at him. Irimm retracted his hand and change his trajectory. When he landed, he looked in the direction from where the ring of fire came from.

It was from Katherine, being supported by filtered natural QI from Emma. With Emma's hand on Katherine's shoulder, that attack carried more power and purity in it.

Gustavo rushed to Adrian's side and took a battle stance beside him.

Pam focused on Drake, Shi Li on Camron. Desire took interest in Emma and Irimm at Katherine.

The female dwarf appeared in front of Adrian and Gustavo, with a mace twice the size of Adrian and Gustavo. "I'll take you lots." She threw saliva in front of them.

"Young friend, it seems like it going to be me against you," Saram said to Alex.

"I don't care really care if I go against this mosquito or that mosquito, either way, I will be the one to kill the mosquito." Alex mocked and retrieved his spear from his storage ring.

The guards that came along with Camron took the remaining 4.

"They are all disaster realm cultivators, except for this monk in front of me and the woman wrapped in tapes. They are already Nirvana realm cultivators" Alex revealed after probing their cultivation levels.

Alex raised a palm and waved. When he did this everything that had caught on fire, stopped burning. He turned every flame insight off.

"A young friend that is an Etruscan runemaster and also has a high affinity with the fire element," Saram said with pleasure.

"An unsightly monk with a wicked grin plastered on his face. What is your specialty, telekinesis?" Alex questioned.

"You can say that." Saram's smile widened.

"If it is telekinesis, I can also do that. Maybe even better than you."

Alex used his mind to forcefully pull the silver staff out of Saram's hands, but before it could travel far away from Saram, it stopped moving. Saram stretched his hand out and mentally dragged his spear back to him.

The spear was returning back to Saram, slowly but steadily. Alex frowned and Saram's face remained the same.

Seeing that he was losing the tug of war, Alex stretched his hand out too and stopped the staff right where it was, putting the staff in a stalemate.

"I admit, your telekinesis is just as strong as mine. This is a huge achievement for someone as young as you. But my telekinesis is supported by something else."

-Ding!!

The rings on the staff fell off, 24 of them, and morphed into throwing knives.

This shocked Alex because just a few seconds ago he could feel that he had a hold of everything on the staff, including the rings. Now even when he attempted to control them after they had morphed, it was as if he was putting his hand inside a grinder, metaphorically.
