The Messenger of Death

Chapter 232: a visitor

Roughly 13 hours had gone by before Alex was able to return to the Sword Heaven. He returned the same way he left. Bobby and Klein made sure that there wasn't a hair out of place on his head.

When they entered the sword-like mountain, Bobby and Klein kept on checking Alex out to see if there was anything that was out of place.

"Where's my master?" Alex asked.

"Let me go and look for her." Klein offered.

As he stood in one of the main halls of the Sword Heaven, he was being watched and eyed by many people. People that respected him because of his master, people that are jealous of his status.

People that are gunning for him because of his looks. Those were the feelings of most of the people that were looking at him.

Alex ignored the eyes and stares that many of them made at him, even the winks that he got from the ladies that passed by him.

['I need to tell Nana about my intentions to purify my blood.'] He thought.

['Which bloodline should we purify first?'] Lex questioned.

He out of all of them wasn't eager to purify the bloodline that he could control, because; he knew that out of all of the bloodlines that they possessed, the spatial ability was going to be the hardest to purify and he hasn't even touched the threshold of his spatial ability.

['Isn't that obvious? We have to purify the fire bloodline first.'] Al answered.

['The lightning bloodline.'] Alex answered simultaneously as Al was giving his response.

['What do you mean the lightning bloodline? Do you even know how to use it properly, you find it hard to conjure little sparks.'] Al argued.

['I wasn't thinking about only myself, I was thinking for all of us. I would have said the spatial bloodline, but that would be very hard to do.

This is our first time attempting something like this so we can't just attempt the hardest of them all.

Although I can't use the lightning bloodline, it is the strongest ability we have after the spatial one and if we can upgrade it then our strength as a whole will increase.'] Alex explained why he chose the lightning bloodline.

['Are you trying to say that Xander will be in control most of the time?'] Al asked.

['No, that's not what I was trying to say or imply.'] Alex sighed.

['Think of it this way, if Xander encounters another opponent that can knock him out again, and then he gets knocked out when battling. If you Take over, will you have the ability to face that opponent that he couldn't take care of?'] Al started.

['I don't think-']

['Exactly!!! That wouldn't be a good thing. But if we purify the fire bloodline you and I can both use it, if one of us is down, the other can take over. The only difference between us is the control of the element. I am better than you when it comes to controlling flames.'] Al interrupted.

Alex kept quiet, because, what Al said was true. He didn't have anything to say against that.

['The two of you shouldn't be arguing about this, if possible before we head back to the lower plain realm, we have to make Nana take us to places that are conducive for the purification of each of the Dragnel bloodlines that we possess.'] Xander interjected.

['True that. I didn't ask that question to cause any argument, I just wanted us to make a decision.'] Lex chipped in.

['Alright, we'll start with the fire bloodline.'] Alex agreed with Al's decision.

['That's a good rabbit.'] Al whispered.

"Young master," Klein called.

"Yeah?" Alex responded.

"Your master is in a meeting with the sect master and other high-ranking members of the sect, would you like to join them there?" Klein reported.

['A meeting? that should be boring.'] He thought.

['I have a better idea, switch with me, I want to spar with other swordsmen.'] Xander requested.

['Alright.'] Alex agreed.

-Switch.

Alex and Xander switched and Xander is now in control.

"No, I don't want to join their meeting. What I want is to have another sparring session with you. Last time, I learned a lot, if I can't learn anything from you again, I will spar with Bobby instead." Xander stated with a calm expression.

Upon hearing what he wanted to do, Bobby and Klein were conflicted again, they swore to their selves that if Alexander was going to come to the Sword Heaven again after they have left, they will not be the ones to guide or protect him.

Their expressions changed for the worse, they didn't know what they did to deserve this. If they spar and Xander gets hurt, Nana would be able to tell.

They were not far from each other.

"Spar with me, my master wouldn't do anything to you guys since I am the one that is requesting for it," Xander reassured.

"I am afraid I can't do that, young master." Klein refused.

"She can hear our conversation, tell them, Nana," Xander called…

"You are getting sharper, stubborn boy." Nana's voice reached their ears.

"Anyone that wants to spar with him can do as they please. I won't spoil my disciple." Nana permitted.

"As you wish, Mistress Ice." Those that heard her speak replied and bowed as if she was in front of them.

A small smile appeared on Xander's face. "Thank you, Nana." He whispered lightly but she was able to hear what he said.

"Don't thank me, I'll be watching your spar from where I am." She stated. "I still haven't forgiven you for choosing to leave me behind." She added.

['What!? What did we do wrong?'] Al questioned. He was shocked to hear that he had offended her.

['She is a woman that is unpredictable and filled with wonders'] Xander commented. He wasn't really concerned that she was angry, after all, he wasn't the one that was going to bear the punishment.

['Wonders indeed.'] Alex sighed because he knew that he's the one that is going to be in control when she decides to punish him.

"Bobby, I sparred with Klein last time. I want to spar with you this time." Xander informed with a little smile on his face.

"As you wish, young master," Bobby replied and bowed respectfully. "Let's head to an open space so that we can spar comfortably there." He offered to Xander.

"That would be better…"

Not long later, Xander was in the general training ground of the Sword Heaven. A lot of people that were curious about what was happening gathered on the training grounds. They were there to spectate. "Are you ready, Alexander?"

Xander looked at him and nodded his head, this time Klein was the one to oversee the match and act as the referee for this match.

"Begin!" He announced.

Immediately those words hit Xander's ears, he took the initiative to attack first. Xander removed one of his swords and threw it at bobby as fast as he could.

-Ding!

Bobby hit the sword that was heading for him and sent it back at the person that threw the sword at him.

Before Xander's sword could return to him, he tapped into the Sword Dao in him and then removed the second twin twilight sword from his storage ring and charged at Bobby. He caught his other sword on his way to his opponent.

-Ding!

Xander slashed his sword at him. Bobby blocked the attack with a stunned expression. He was stunned because the strength and Dao behind Xander's attack were different from the one he was capable of exhibiting when he was fighting against Klein.

Bobby frowned and used his sword to push Xander back. After putting a little distance between them, he took the chance to attack Xander.

Upon seeing that his opponent was about to come for him, Xander's lips twitched a little bit. He was expecting this and he already had a counter in mind, one that could help him win the match quickly.

He got ready for his opponent's attack.

-Boom!!

Suddenly, the space between Xander and Bobby exploded. As if someone had crashed there. The explosion threw Xander and Bobby further away, creating a cloud of dust in the arena.

"It is true, an insect is in possession of an important artifact of my clan." A calm, deep voice came out from the cloud of dust.

When Xander heard this, he felt an ominous feeling that made the hairs on his back stand.

['I have a bad feeling,'] Alex uttered.

['Beginning of a disaster, incoming.'] Al commented.

The first thing that came to Xander's mind was for him to flee the area, but then, he recalled that Nana was watching him so he calmed down and stayed where he was. The fear that he had initially, had disappeared.

Without making any sounds, or even moving the cloud of dust as he moved, the person that crashed on the arena appeared in front of Xander like a ghost.

-Puff!!

-Chink!!

Xander couldn't tell that something had happened until after it did. The person appeared in front of him and tried to grab his neck, but Nana appeared before that happened.

She froze that arm that was coming for Xander, and then she broke it off the person's shoulder…
