The Messenger of Death

Chapter 229: the buddhist's sutra

"If the purity of the blood of someone that uses a bloodstone to purify their blood is compared with the purity of the blood of someone that uses the crude way to purify theirs, and they are of the same blood level. The blood of the person that used the crude way will be the victor, it will be the purest amongst the two."

Just hearing that alone had given Alex hope and happiness. He flashed an excited smile on his face.

He was happy that he could still increase his blood level without using the bloodstone. And this technique was even more effective than using a bloodstone.

So as long as this technique was going to help Alex level up from the first level of the Blood Awakening Stage, no matter how difficult it is, he was ready to do it. Although, he still had a bit of fear in him because of his own bloodline.

He was afraid that using this technique will still help that bloodline of his improve. This fear whipped the smile off his face.

Seeing Alex's expression, Mr. Guardian felt like he knew why he had such an expression on his face.

"I think I know why you can't use the bloodstone to purify your blood." He blurted out.

"Huh? Why?" Alex immediately thought that he had figured that he was an abomination.

"Because you have 3 class-1 bloodlines coursing through your veins. If you use a bloodstone the 3 bloodlines in you, might develop too fast, and at the same time.

Its development might be too heavy for your underdeveloped body, and that would get you killed by your own power." Mr. Guardian revealed.

Alex sighed in relief when he heard what Mr. Guardian had to say.

['I thought he figured it out on his own, but he hasn't.'] He thought. Alex didn't want people to find out that he was an abomination.

He decided to go with what Mr. Guardian said. "Yes," He sighed again.

"Fear not Alexander, this technique is specific and with it, you would be able to pick the bloodline that you want to purify first. Just by meeting a few conditions first." Mr. Guardian revealed.

"The technique that I am about to reveal to you was taken from the ancient Buddhist cultivators. What do you know about Buddhists?" Mr. Guardian asked.

['Buddha really traveled far in the universe, who would have thought that he was from earth? Or was he?'] Al rambled.

"Nothing significant, I have never been the religious type nor have I ever taken any interest in it." He answered truthfully.

"The Buddhist people are those that are trying to reach complete Buddhahood so that they could benefit from the sentient of beings by teaching and practicing the cessation of Dukkha."

Alex didn't know what 'Dukkha' meant, so when he heard it for the first time, he frowned. Before he could ask Mr. Guardian for clarification on what Dukkha was, Mr. Guardian beat him to it.

"Dukkha is an important concept in Buddhism and it can be translated as suffering, unhappiness, pain, or stress. It refers to the fundamental unhappiness and painfulness of mundane life." He explained.

"I think I understand now," Alex spoke up.

"The Buddhist people meditate and recite Sutras when they are faced with sentient of Dukka. They aim to reach nirvana – rebirth by transcending the predicaments created by human nature and feelings." He paused and began writing on the air.

Yellow neon-like lights appeared on the air, in a language that Alex didn't know how to read.

After writing on the air for a minute, Mr. Guardian was finally done writing. He had written a long sutra.

"This is the sutra you have to recite when you have met the first condition of this technique. And that condition is for you to get to a suitable environment that has some kind of relationship with the element of the blood you are trying to purify.

For example, if the blood you are trying to purify has an affinity with the fire element, then you go to a place with an active volcano and temper your blood with the heat of the volcano.

If it is a water affiliated element, then you go to the part of an ocean that has the most violent waves. Waves that could crush bones easily.

Just remember, you have to feel the Dukkha. You have to feel uncomfortable and it will be better if it is unbearable. Then you recite this sutra continuously and focus on the blood you want to purify."

"I can memorize this, but I do not know how to read this language," Alex mentioned.

Mr. Guardian pushed his hand forward and the thing that he wrote on the air shot at Alex's head.

When it hit him, Alex could suddenly read and understand the sutra. He didn't have any problem when it came to the sutra now.

"I can read it now." He smiled. "Thank you." He thanked him sincerely.

"I'm not done, yet. While using the sutra to purify your blood, you can also use the bloodstone. Imagine what would happen if you use the two to purify your blood. Just start with small pieces of bloodstones.

The main thing is that you have sovereignty over the purification process. That way you can always pick which blood you are purifying."

Alex's smile became wider after he heard that.

['Yes!!! Now the bloodstones wouldn't be useless to us.'] He rejoiced.

['I still think that it will be better if we sold them.'] Al's stingy side surfaced.

['It would be better if I could sell you for some loose change.'] Alex mocked.

['Believe that I will sell your virginity, you retard.'] Al said in response.

"Thank you very much, Mr. Guardian." Alex bowed.

"You are welcome, although it will be hard to accomplish, I would like to see you do so." Mr. Guardian said.

"I have answered your first question, and we still have 6 minutes left. Do you have another question?"

"Do you have something that I can use to store the Midas petal in? Something that can mask its aura and energy. If I just go ahead and eat the petal, with an unstable foundation, my cultivation might be affected later on in the future." Alex asked.

This time his intention wasn't to absorb the petal immediately he gets it, he didn't want what happened the last time to happen again.

"Yes, I do." Mr. Guardian waved his hand and a jade container appeared. "Use this. Normally, I wouldn't do this, but I want you to do something for me too." He revealed.

"What might that be?" Alex wondered.

"See the puppet beside you, it likes you and said that it wants you to be its owner." Mr. Guardian said.

"What!!?? This thing?" Alex pointed at it with his eyes wide open.

"Yes, that thing." Mr. Guardian smiled as he repeated what Alex said.

"If you become its owner, it can help you in your time of need. It is strong enough to take some hits from me before it hibernates to heal again. And that is saying a lot." He mentioned.

['For this puppet to be able to withstand the strength of a sovereign, it should be amazingly strong, right?'] Lex reasoned.

['Take that sh*t boy, I will add it to my army. The one I will use to take over a world.'] Al spoke in excitement.

['How sure are you that it will follow our every command and not want another person later?'] Xander blurted out.

"Wouldn't it leave me later in the future, I mean, it's leaving you now, right?" Alex questioned.

"I don't know, I never became its owner. It only followed me around because I was the one that found it. I don't know who made it or what it was made of, I just know it is something that many people would desire. Would you accept it?"

"Okay." Alex decided.

The puppet stretched its hands in front of Alex.

"What?" Alex looked at it weird.

"It is asking you to place your hand on its own." Mr. Guardian smiled as he interpreted to Alex.

Alex continued to look at it weirdly as he proceeded to place his hand right on its own. After he did that, nothing happened.

"Why did it ask me for this?"

"That I don't know, let's wait and see."

"This is-"

-Chuck!

The tip of the puppet's fingers penetrated Alex's palms

"Argh!!!" He cried out and tried to remove his palm, but he wasn't able to…

Suddenly, the puppet started to melt, and in a few seconds, it turned to a black, thick, and slimy liquid that covered the whole of Alex's right arm. Runic alphabets appeared on top of the black liquid.

"Woah, stop. Stop!!" Alex kept on saying as he used his left hand to try and scratch the liquid off, but it wasn't coming off.

Mr. Guardian just sat down there watching it happen, calmly.

When it was done covering his whole arm it dried up and then Alex felt like his right hand wasn't his. It was too heavy for him to lift.

-Boom!

His right hand fell to the ground and created a crater deep crater beside him. That was how heavy it was.

It looked like his whole right arm had been tattooed black. After some seconds, the black faded and his hand returned to normal. Even the weight on his hand dispersed.

When that happened he calmed down. "What the hell just happened?" He whispered.

"It has become something like a familiar to you. Now it cannot leave you unless you want it gone or you die, it's destruction will not affect you, as long as you have QI in you, it will forever be immortal. That is the contract that it initiated with you." Mr. Guardian explained.
