The Messenger of Death

Alex did as Nana said and braced himself. He prepared himself for the pain that would assault him as soon as he exited the excepto.

Nana flashed a small smile when she saw Alex tighten his fist. 'He didn't even ask me to protect him.' She thought.

"When we are done here, once we return to the lower plain realm. I will teach you something, martial skills exclusively from my clan." She mentioned just a second before they exited the excepto.

-Whoop!!

Alex felt that same force that had been trying to pull him back to the lower plain realm, tug at him one last time, just right until he left the excepto.

Nana had stopped using her QI to shield him at the last second.

-Thud!!!

As soon as they came out, Alex crashed and rolled the floor. He couldn't control his movement because of one of the forces that were pulling at him, when he exited the excepto, it was like he was shot out of there.

Where they exited from, was a grassy hill with lush greenery. There were schools of birds flying, peacefully in the sky.

"Barf!!" immediately after Alex stopped rolling, and he stood up, he started to vomit. He hasn't eaten in days so all he could bring out of his stomach was liquid.

"Argh!" He exclaimed.

His eyes were opened wide as he tried to breathe in. "I think one of my ribs shifted." He placed his hand on his waist and touched the left side of his chest. "Argh!!" He cried out in pain.

-Whoosh!

Nana arrived beside him, unhurt. "You did better than I expected. Many would have already passed out after that." She looked at Alex as he was wincing in pain.

"The excepto of the lower plain realm was trying to keep you from reaching here, but the one in the ordain plain realm decided that you are you worthy enough to be here, so it continued to pull at you until the last minute. If you weren't meant to be here, it wouldn't have a tug of war with the force from the lower plain realm." Nana explained.

"Here," She handed him a healing pill. "While you take the pill, try to cultivate with the QI here." She suggested.

Alex quickly threw the pill in his mouth, He then sat down and folded his legs then closed his eyes. He brought his palms adjacent to his navel and placed one above, then another one below. He took a deep breath before he proceeded to start absorbing the QI that was around him.

At that moment, Alex forgot about the pain that he was feeling. The QI that he was sensing around him, surprised him. Alex thought that the QI that Emma had transferred into him was the purest and densest QI there was, but this one that he was about to take into his body is denser and purer than the one that he got for her.

"The QI here is pure and dense." He muttered.

"To you, this QI is pure and dense, but to me, the QI here is filled with impurities and it is lacking in many ways," Nana commented.

Alex frowned as he tried to search for impurities in the QI that he had gathered, but he couldn't see any of that there.

"Don't try searching for it, you wouldn't find it. You are not strong enough to sense the impurities." Nana stated.

"Alright. Will anything bad happen to me if I absorb this QI that has impurities?" He asked.

"No, nothing wrong is going to happen to you if you absorb it, it's the right one for you at this moment." She answered.

"Okay." Alex proceeded to let the gathered QI enter his body and head for his core. A minute after he started this, Alex noticed that the crack on the barrier in him had started to increase.

Quickly, a smile replaced the frown that was on his face. Alex was happy that he was about to break through to the next rank.

-Break!

Not long after, Alex broke through to the third rank of the disaster realm.

A rush of exorbitant energy filled him as he could feel his energy increasing.

He wanted to stop and celebrate his breakthrough, but he noticed that the barrier between the third rank and the fourth rank had started to crack too.

Alex absorbed more QI and charged at the barrier. He was eager to get stronger.

"I know that you are eager to get stronger, but if you don't solidify your foundation, your cultivation is likely to drop whenever you go above your limits. So I suggest that you don't break through to the fourth rank and wait till you have solidified the foundations of your cultivation in this realm." Nana warned.

After paying attention to what Nana was saying, Alex recalled what happened to him before, after he had survived the battle that he had with the berserkers that they encountered in the Agelong forest, when he woke up he realized that his cultivation had dropped.

Now he was starting to wonder if the drop was caused because his foundation wasn't solid enough or because he used that bloodline ability of his.

"Besides, you won't be staying in the ordain plain realm for a long time. If you get used to the QI here, you wouldn't be able to use the QI in the lower plain realm to cultivate, and if that happens you wouldn't be able to progress smoothly in your cultivation." Nana added.

['Should I still make the breakthrough?'] Alex asked his alternate personalities.

['No, this should be enough, there's no point in progressing now only for our cultivation to drop later on.'] Xander advised against it.

['Exactly, besides, Nana just said that using the QI here might make our cultivation in the lower plain realm, difficult.'] Lex concurred with Xander.

['Listen to the woman and don't anything stupid.'] Al blurted out.

"Okay." Alex opened his eyes and stopped cultivating before he stood up.

"What do we do now?" He asked.

Since he had opened his eyes, he hadn't taken a look at his master. Suddenly, an alluring fragrance assaulted his nose, it was the scent of a female. Alex turned and looked in the direction in which the fragrance was coming from.

He saw his master standing in front of him with a smile on her face. Nana didn't look like the usual Nana that he had come to know. Her hair had suddenly fixed itself up.

Before, her brown hair was always disheveled, and rough, but now it was silky, radiant, and full of life. She had the hair at the sides of her head braided and let the rest of her hair fall freely to her shoulders.

Her white nightgown had change into a white long gown that wasn't see-through. There were a few strips of blue on the hem of her gown. Although she looked different from what Alex was used to seeing, there was still a bit of the old her in the new one that Alex was seeing.

There was no jewelry on her, not a single one.

Alex could tell that the person he was looking at was Nana, but he didn't want to believe that it was her. This version of his master that he was seeing, is many times more gorgeous than the one that he had been seeing before now.

"Nana?" He uttered with a confused expression on his face. He brought his sight down to her legs and saw that she had blue, flat sandals that matched with her gown. This was the most surprising thing that he had seen today.

"You have shoes on?" Alex whispered. 

Nana chuckled upon seeing his expression. "What? You've never seen a woman as pretty as me?" She twirled in front of Alex.

"It's not that I haven't seen women as pretty as you, I just didn't think… I mean, I didn't know that… when did you change into…" Alex paused to choose his words wisely, he didn't want to say anything that might make Nana punish him.

Nana smirked and waited for him to think.

"I didn't expect this from you. Is this why you dressed me up?" He questioned.

"Not really. As I have already told you, I don't care if you look refined or not. Just as long as you are happy with it then I'm not going to be disturbed by it. I'm very sure that you thought that I go everywhere with my nightgown and barefooted." She giggled.

"Well, I haven't seen you in anything else apart from the nightgown." Alex mentioned in his defense.

"That's the only look that I use in the lower plain realm, I don't have to dress properly there. But here, I have to, my clan's influence extends to this plain realm." Nana reveled. "Come on, I'm going to take you to where my clan's branch is, here in the ordain plain realm." Nana said and grabbed Alex's…
