The Legend of Harry Potter Schoolmaster

Chapter 24 Protecting the Teacher of Magical Creatures

On Sunday morning, Jon didn't get up early as usual.

He didn't leave the dorm until about nine o'clock, when most of the freshmen at Hogwarts had gotten out of bed.

Went to the dining room to have some breakfast, and overheard from the Slytherin table Draco Malfoy bragging about how he taught a Gryffindor:

"I didn't pull out my wand because I guessed that stupid Weasley couldn't hurt me. It didn't, and guess what? He knocked himself down with a spell and spit out a lot of slugs, Ha ha ha ha……"

Except for Gryffindor, the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaw students looked at him with a look of disgust, but Malfoy didn't notice it.

Jon didn't stay too long in the dining room, and after breakfast he went back to the Hufflepuff common room and picked up a glass cage with two South African red spider mites.

Walking out of the castle, a ghost floated past him, making him hurriedly avoid it.

"Good morning, Jon!" the ghost greeted him kindly.

"Hello, monk!" Jon bowed respectfully to the ghost of the fat monk, and the fat monk returned the salute.

"I want to go to Professor Sprout's office..."

"So you're looking for Pomona. Her office is in a low log cabin next to Greenhouse No. 1... Come on, I remember she stays in the office every Sunday!" The fat monk smiled said.

"Thank you, monk."

Friar Fat is arguably the friendliest ghost of all the academies. In less than a week, Jon has asked him the way three times, and he has patiently and carefully pointed the way to himself each time.

...

Professor Sprout was not in her office, and Jon looked around in several greenhouses and found her in the third greenhouse.

With a pair of pink fluff earmuffs on her head, she was trying to pluck a greenish-purple seedling in the greenhouse.

Jon stepped back quickly, then covered his ears.

Professor Sprout quickly dealt with the seedling and walked out of the greenhouse with dragonskin gloves.

"Jon?" Professor Sprout exclaimed in surprise as he took off his earmuffs.

"It's the Mandrake, isn't it Professor?" Jon smiled. "I just plugged my ears!"

"Very wise, otherwise you may be in a coma for hours." Professor Sprout gave him a thumbs up with a smile: "If it was in class, I would definitely give Hufflepuff extra points. ……is there anything?"

"That... Professor... is my pet, and it seems to be a little bit bad recently!" Jon said as he took out the glass cage for the spider.

"Pets?" Professor Sprout shook his head: "I'm sorry...but I'm a teacher who studies herbal medicine...you should ask Keitelborn, the teacher in the Conservation of Magical Creatures class, about this. professor."

"But, professor, I'm a freshman...we don't have classes taught by Ketelburn..." Jon said hesitantly.

"So, you don't know Professor Kettleburn, do you?" Professor Sprout patted Jon on the shoulder. "Come on, I'll take you to Sylvanos now."

...

Professor Pomona Sprout was arguably the kindest and best teacher at Hogwarts, especially for Hufflepuff students.

If it was another teacher, it would be impossible to take a first-year freshman for such a trivial matter.

Following in Professor Sprout's footsteps, he came to the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

Hagrid's hut is out of sight, so it should be on the other side of the Forbidden Forest.

A thatched cottage sat here, and Professor Sprout raised her wand and knocked gently on the door.

"What's the matter?" An old voice came from inside the house.

"Silvanos, it's me...I have a student who needs your help!" Professor Sprout shouted.

"Pomona... Good morning, Pomona..." A white-haired old man limped out of the hut.

Jon suddenly realizes why Hogwarts will be replaced by Hagrid as the teacher of Protection of Magical Creatures in another year... This Professor Kettleburn is indeed very old, and his beard and hair are already flowers. White; moreover, one of his hands and one foot are wooden prostheses.

"Is that you?" Professor Kettleburn glanced up and down at Jon. "Why does he look a little shy?"

"Professor, I'm a first-year Hufflepuff!" Jon replied quickly.

"A freshman... Hufflepuff..." Professor Kettleburn's eyes softened suddenly: "Once upon a time, I was also a freshman at Hufflepuff... It has been more than 80 years since then. past..."

"Silvanos, something is wrong with Jon's pet, and I want you to help him check it out!" Professor Sprout offered to help Jon explain the purpose of his trip.

"Okay...that's no problem!" Professor Kettleburn's eyes moved to the glass cage that Jon was holding in his arms.

"Two spiders, very ordinary spiders, you actually treat them as pets... I think you will become good friends with Hagrid..." Professor Kettleburn murmured:

"Be careful, Pomona, there's a Grindylow in the tank behind you, don't let him go!"

"And Mr. Hart, don't kick the teapot at your feet, there's a bird snake in there..."

"They are healthy and have almost no problems!" Professor Kettleburn made a direct judgment.

"But why do they keep knocking on the cage, hoping to escape... It's been like this since last night, they've never been so disobedient before." Jon had organized the language long ago, calmly said.

"This is indeed a problem..." Professor Kettleburn frowned: "Ordinary spiders are so excited, this is something I have never seen!"

"Could it be... fear?" Jon asked quietly.

"Fear?" Professor Kettleborn bent down and looked at it more carefully: "It does look a bit like..."

"But it's impossible!" he said firmly.

"Why?" This time it was Professor Sprout who asked.

"There is only one extremely evil magical creature that scares spiders...but that evil creature has been extinct in Britain for almost 400 years, and the Ministry of Magic has strictly prohibited it from entering the British Isles, so it cannot be in Hogg Around Watts!" As he spoke, Professor Kettleburn returned the cage to Jon.

"Maybe you didn't feed them enough, Mr. Hart...I'll give you some tranquilizers, give them a try!"
