The Hunter That Returned From Hell

Chapter 92: Clay Man (2)

After few seconds of wait, something finally started to happen to the statue. The clay that was on the ground slowly started to fly and slowly started to settle in the place of the broken arm. At first the clay slowly rose up but as the time went by it became faster until there was no clay left on the ground. Kang-Ho was surprised by what he saw in just a few seconds the broken arm of the statue was back at the same place as it was earlier. It seemed like it had no problems even after being broken earlier, the statue even moved its arm a little to test if the arm was okay.

After the statue was done testing the arm, it bended over to pick up the spear that was still on the ground. After picking up the spear the statue moved its gaze towards Kang-Ho who was already fighting against the other statue. After locking its target in its eyes, the statue moves to attack him in high speed.

While Kang-Ho was fighting one statue the other statue charged towards him with spear on its hand. Kang-Ho made a quick decision to move away from the path of the spear but he failed to do so after the statue moved along with him. because of the swiftness of the statues Kang-ho was having trouble dodging their attacks. The statue’s attacks were precise and quick, and they were very fast to adapt to changes, these were the factors that made Kang-Ho feel that fighting humans was easier than these statues. Although humans were fast and quick thinkers most of them didn’t have quick reflexes, most of them needed time to adjust to any changes that occurred on the battle field.

Kang-Ho had to block their attack using his dagger, although Kang-Ho didn’t want to give so much pressure on his already damaged daggers he had no other choice but to use his dagger as that was the only option he had left. After Kang-Ho Blocked both the spears on its tracks he pushed one of the statues with full force towards the back. Kang-Ho was successful in pushing the statue back, ass Kang-ho pushed the statue it flew backward really fast. Although the statues were big and tall, they were not that heavy, so Kang-ho was able to push one of them far. After flying for some distance, the statue landed to on the ground, the statue rolled over 2-3 times before it could stabilize itself. Kang-Ho’s plan was to separate one of the statues to study the other statue and find out what the statue’s weak point was. Kang-Ho succeeded on one of his plans so he didn’t waste any time to commence the other part of his plan.

Kang-Ho attacked the heart of the statue with his dagger, to which the statue reacted really quickly almost as if it was ready to defend that area. Kang-Ho speculated that that was the are where he could find the statue’s weak point. So, Kang-Ho continued his attack on the heart non-stop. Kang-ho’s attack was so fast and precise that all the statue could do was defend for the time that Kang-Ho was attacking. At the end the statue couldn’t stand Kang-Ho’s continuous attacks, Kang-ho finally broke through his guard. When Kang-Ho’s attack landed on the statue’s chest, his hand went through the chest of the statue. But after inspecting the hole Kang-ho couldn’t find anything that could stop the statue from functioning.

Once again, the other statue reached Kang-Ho and tried to launch a sneak attack but Kang-ho was already prepared so he reacted to the attack swiftly. Kang-Ho guessed that if not inside the statue’s chest then it must be inside the statue’s head. So once more Kang-ho used the same tactic, Kang-Ho separated one of the statues from the other and started attacking the statue’s head this time around. Kang-Ho started his attack, while Kang-Ho was attacking the statue he had no idea what he was or should be looking form this was the first time he was facing off against these kinds of things.

Before this he had just read some storied about these things on forums at that time, he didn’t really pay much attention to those, on the forum these kinds of things were just listed as rumours so there was no valid reason for him to pay attention to that. By what Kang-Ho had seen so far, those people who knew the existence of Mass dungeon were trying to keep it under secret, trying to hoard all for themselves. So, everything that was pertaining to the mass dungeons was deemed rumours.

‘There must be something that was controlling its movement. I just have to find that thing.’ Kang-Ho thought.

Kang-Ho didn’t give up he continued his attack until one of his attack finally hit its target. This time ang-ho was not disappointed at the result as he finally found what he was looking for, when Kang-Ho’s dagger entered between the statue’s eyes it was stopped midway by something hard. Kang-Ho figured that was it, so he started attacking the same spot over and over again. And finally Kang-Ho heard a cracking sound and the statue slowly started loosing the light on it’s eyes. As the light disappeared from the statue’s eyes the clay also started to fall from the statue’s body, after some time the entire statue had turned to clay.

Kang-Ho finally saw what was inside the statue’s head, the thing that was inside the statue was similar to the monster core but a little bigger in size. Kang-Ho wanted to pick that up and study that but when he touched that thing, it became fine powder. It seemed like after being broken there was no use left of it.

Without wasting anymore time Kang-Ho moved towards the other statue. Like he did with the previous statue Kang-Ho started targeting the same area he did to the other statue. The core was located at the same spot where it was before. Kang-Ho started to call that stone core because of its similarities with the monster core and he didn’t know what else to call that thing.

Kang-Ho this time didn’t try to destroy the core instead Kang-Ho attacked the sides of the core to expose the core. Kang-ho wanted to extract the core and study it closely and find out how it was made.

‘If I can replicate this thing, I can make some of these things to protect my family even when I am not with them.’ Thought Kang-Ho as he saw the statues, he felt most of the time he was not there in his house so it would be a very good idea to have his house being protected by these kinds of things. Kang-Ho wanted to check if he could somehow recreate these statues.

After some time of hitting the clay head of the statue Kang-Ho finally managed to expose the core, after he was able to see the core completely Kang-Ho stored one of the daggers inside his ring and grabbed the core with that hand. Kang-Ho pulled the core out of the statue’s head without any trouble.
