Chapter 84: The Blood Elf Monarch - I

[You have successfully completed the Sub Quest – Eliminate the Chimeras]

[You obtained 100 Skill Points as a reward]

[You Obtained Dr. Regulus' Notes as a reward]

"That more or less confirms they are dead right?" Zeke said out loud, panting heavily as he sat on the ground. All his [Conjures] got released and, Erio's [Conjured] sword also vanished in the process. The [System's Notifications] didn't end there however.

[Alert!]

[Due to the effects of: "The One Who Cheats Death", the player cannot level up.]

"Ahh yes. The tradeoff in using that skill." Zeke is aware that he cannot level up anymore. But, actually seeing the system notify him about this makes him a bit irritated. He wanted to level up some more but, due to the consequences of using the skill, this won't be happening anytime soon.

Zeke didn't ponder on this for too long. He summoned his [Winged Monkeys] again and, made them collect all the materials left by the dead elven soldiers.

Zeke did a huge amount of damage to the capital and, he knew that he couldn't simply leave things as they are. Of course, Zeke has zero clue about the war that has already begun. But he soon will, if he successfully defeats Gallio.

"Man, those things sure cornered me real good." Zeke said, looking at the loot of the Chimera which dropped. Unfortunately, no tongues of fire came out and so, Zeke couldn't perform the [Conjure Summon] on the enemies he just faced. However, something interesting did come from the fight. As Zeke continued collecting the loot, he grabbed onto a Gold - Titled item. An Egg.

[Item Name: Morphing Egg]

[Type: Egg]

[Information: These are eggs which existed during the earlier years of Mythos. These eggs can contain any of the monsters that have existed on Mythos. However, other creatures can also be born from the eggs. All of this depends on how the egg is taken care of.]

"Yaeger would probably cook you." Zeke said to the egg, deciding to place it in the inventory for the moment.

There are, of course, more items found by Zeke. And as he collected these, he thought of the strategy he just used against his enemies. The [Chimeras] are no small fry monsters. They are high grade predators which have the potential to be invincible. But facing an opponent as level-headed, versatile, and quick witted as Zeke made things a bit more complicated for the creatures.

After he finished with what he is doing, Zeke went to the list of quests and finally viewed the one which he failed to open earlier on.

[Optional Quest: Find out who interfered with the transport]

[Reward: Chrono's Broken Stopwatch]

[Bonus Reward: Random Max Leveled Skill]

[Bonus Reward Conditions: Kill those who interfered]

"This sounds dangerous for an optional quest." Zeke thought of the rewards and, having a bonus reward is definitely not something which would come from a normal quest.

"I'll definitely die for good if it's a god level being." Zeke continued, thinking of his current state. With enough time and preparation, Zeke knows that he can reach that level. But since the effects of [The One Who Cheats Death] are still in effect, Zeke knows that he should be careful for now.

"You never fail to amaze me." Glade said over the communication bracelet.

"Shut up and update me already." Zeke said over the channel. Glade didn't mind being talked down to. No matter how Zeke treats him, it is still the human who will do the dirty task for him. All Glade needs to do is to intervene as much as he can in order to make the conditions favorable to Zeke.

"Okay so here's the deal, you just destroyed the capital all by yourself. Things are looking really bleak for you right now. Once Gallio learns of this, there won't be any place for you to hide to. He'll hunt you down like the predator he is." Glade explained.

"Can you delay it?" Zeke replied, wanting to sort things out before facing Gallio.

"That's actually a problem. The eldest of the Windsprite is already within Gallio's custody. I'm not concerned for he in particular but, if you choose to wait too long, Gallio will dissect that woman, take her parts, and finally have a host which could handle his whole power." Glade explained.

Zeke thought of these and all the other variables he could mix in. Then, quickly came to a conclusion as he always does.

"Give me two." Zeke said.

"Two days?" Glade replied thinking that two days is enough to make decent preparations.

"No. Two hours. Delay him for that long and I'll definitely bring that monster down." Zeke replied, a statement which Glade found to be quite exhilarating.

"I do hope that you're not saying that to impress me. Otherwise you're as good as dead." Glade replied but, Zeke didn't say anything more. Instead, the human placed his strongest [Conjures] around him and, went to sleep.

Meanwhile, Glade prepared to make his report. In a few more minutes, Gallio himself will learn of what happened and, if Glade does not report by then, the Blood Elf Monarch will suspect him of being a traitor.

"He's probably begging the operation by now." Glade said, not sounding worried at all. With what he just witnessed; Glade is sure of one thing. Zeke has a high chance of winning against Gallio.

Within the same time of Zeke defeating the two Chimeras, Gallio has already come back to his main laboratory, bringing Sylvia with her. Again, he felt resistance coming from Hark but, the human didn't have enough strength to take over the body.

With all the modifications done by Gallio, Hark no longer exists as a person but as a kind of specter. One which still exists with him; yet not a noticeable entity. Intrigued by the sudden attempts of Hark to take over, the king lay the specimen on a laboratory table while he proceeded to a nearby mirror inside the lab.

"You're quite energetic today." Gallio said, talking to Hark by facing the mirror. Of course, there isn't any response. But the king didn't plan to stop just there. He went on to provoking Hark, trying to get the human to respond again.

"That woman is going to be torn open any second now. I hope you realize that." Gallio continued, smiling menacingly. Then, something unexpected happened, the whole of his left arm moved on its own, punching him in the face before becoming completely submissive again.

Gallio staggered a bit, feeling the force from the blow. But more than the shock he felt, Gallio roared in laughter.

"HAHAHAHA!" The king became entertained by Hark's display of will, conviction, and strength.

"That's more like it Hark. Remember, the only reason why I'm owning this body is because you are weaker than me. This whole thing is yours to begin with and, the only reason why I control it is because you are weak." Gallio continued.

Gallio quickly got bored of talking with the human. Hence, he proceeded with what he needed to do. Gallio began by locking Sylvia into place and, to ensure that she won't wake up anytime soon, the king injected a serum into the elf's bloodstream. The effect is quite simple, for q whole day the injected person will not wake up. This is a somewhat natural serum, meaning there won't be any significant changes to Sylvia's body itself as Gallio wants the specimen to be in its top shape.

"Shall we begin my wife?" Gallio continued, holding up a scalpel on one hand and, a bunch of tube looking objects with pointed ends on the other. But right before he proceeded, Glade finally made the report.

"My King." Glade began.

"This better be important Glade." Gallio replied, holding down his equipment.

"It is my King. Something unexpected happened in the capital." Glade's plan is simple. He will draw out the conversation by cutting the report piece by piece. As a master of words, Glade knows how make people go round and round over the same topic. This is a bit more difficult to perform with Gallio but, nevertheless, Glade knows that he can manage.

"I'm listening." Was Gallio's short response.

"My King, I find this hard to believe myself but…"

"But what?"

"All our forces from the capital have been wiped out." There was a moment of silence. Gallio had trouble registering what Glade just said.

Although the amin forces have already been deployed, Gallio knew that the next wave of troops are no pushovers. Especially the ones locate within the capital.

"Didn't I tell you to summon [Chimeras] on all the locations?" Gallio continued, holding back his temper.

"You did my king. And, I even summoned two in the capital just to make sure but, even these have been defeated somehow."

"Defeated? Did I hear that right Glade?" Gallio responded, knowing that [Chimeras] are not beings which could be taken down by any measly warrior.

"Yes my King. Even with their consistent mutation and evolution, our [Chimeras] have been killed." Glade could feel the air getting denser around him. He knows that, even without the King beside him…Gallio is already getting heated up.

"How many enemies." Gallio replied, thinking how such an impossible feat had been done to his forces and to the Chimeras.

"One."

"Glade, you know damn well how I don't enjoy childish jokes."

"Yes my King. This isn't any joke. A single person wiped out all our forces."

At this, Gallio's blood began to boil. His anger ceased and is replaced by a more dominant emotion…excitement. And why is this you ask? Well it is quite simple….

If there is a being who can destroy all his forces and, two Chimeras at the same time, then there is no doubting it. That is the perfect host for the Blood Elf Monarch.

"Send me the coordinates. I'll handle him myself."
