The Duchess of the Attic

51. Operational meetings

"Well, why don't we go for a long walk at night?

"How many years? It was over ten years ago, wasn't it?

"Don't be serious there."

"'Cause I'm worried about my body moving like it used to."

"Princess, I don't think we should touch each other's age?

"So is that."

Opal grinned and shook Claude's hand.

This time we can go together.

Thinking so, Opal's mood was exhilarating, forgetting the situation.

I remember when we were just kids, we both got out of the Count's consulate many times at night.

It was meant to be a secret just for the two of us back then, but they kept it tight on Trevor.

But now, Connally had no confidence.

Because Claude should be getting ready properly downstairs.

Thus majestic - despite being in enemy territory - he picked me up at the same time as he used to.

Sitting across the window frame, Claude showed the directions with the other hand, holding Opal's hand.

"Tell him here, he moves down to that tree. You can do that, right?

"Of course. I've always thought that tree would be easy to get down."

"Well, go ahead"

Normally, maybe we should ask a man to pull his hand, but Claude knows Opal wants to go first.

Opal grinned happily and dared to get over the window frame.

Skirt's gonna turn.

"I'm wearing pants underneath, so it's okay."

If I gave Claude the same whisper back, I could hear him whispering.

Turning around for a moment, Claude is laughing.

Opal stood his index finger to quiet with one hand, cleverly balancing.

Apparently, he remembered his childhood.

Come to think of it, it's been almost twenty years now, and even Opal has gone crazy about what we're doing when we're in a position to be dukes and duchesses with each other even more.

Still laughing, somehow conveying the wall, it seems easy to climb - moving to the tree that seems easy to descend, then it goes down easily.

Claude seemed to think he could help at any time, but he didn't have to, and we both made it to the ground safely.

"This way."

Holding the hand offered to Claude, Opal silently followed behind him.

But stay away from the mansion for a while before turning around.

"What's wrong?

"There's no chaser."

"Shit! Didn't you get enough performances? - Stay!

Opal kicked Claude's leg, moaning deliberately that he had failed.

Enough of being a princess who can only help her as a child.

Opal blurted and walked in line to Claude wondering how many duke territory people were pretending to be anti-kings.

"- Ma'am! Master Opal!

"Naja!"

When I got out of the mansion grounds and into the hunting woods and into the cabin, which was a little further, Naja hugged me with momentum.

Opal also holds back the joy naja.

"Naja... I'm so glad you're okay"

"That's me too. I'm worried and worried about what happens when I'm separated from my wife... I tried to get back a few times, but the soldier who was after me said, 'If I don't be quiet, your wife's gonna be in trouble'. I thought they were threatening me, so I stepped on my feet full of strength."

Naja had checked her entire body a little further away to make sure Opal was safe, but at the end she glimpsed a man in a rebel uniform.

The man, who smiles bitterly, was a soldier who held Naja in his quarters.

Opal, who knows how strong Naja's chi is, laughed, but Naja swells her cheeks.

"It's not every laugh."

"I'm sorry, Naja. But it was about Julian among the rebels who knew how much I cherished Naja. So I guess Julian pulled us apart, but I thought it would be better for me to get away with it."

"Well, Julian will be pissed off at Mr. Connally if he finds out we got away with it!

"Yeah, right. That feels good."

Meaningly, Opal said, Claude erupted.

Then Claude attracts Opal to take it away from Naja.

"Well, is it time for me to have my wife back? It's been a long time since I've seen you again."

"Of course!

To Claude's words, Naja nodded with a glow on her face.

But Opal looks up at Claude like a stare.

"You have a lot to explain."

"Is it too late for tomorrow?

"You'll be cleaning up tomorrow, won't you? We have plenty of time until morning. So before you do that, please."

- Okay, I got it.

Opal smiled as Claude accepted, as he gave up.

And turn back to Naja.

"Naja, I don't have much time until morning, so will you take a rest now?

"Wow, I get it..."

Seeing Opal's contradiction of words and Claude's desperate expression, Naja walked out of the room laughing.

Is this shed built for the family or does it look like there are several rooms?

Opal, we're this way.

"... lovely"

"Right?

There were several soldiers on the spot - nodding lightly at the soldiers who would sleep in the miscellaneous fish there, then Claude and Opal headed to a different door from Naja's.

It looks like a storage there, but there's a ladder in the back.

Obviously to the attic - I guess it goes up to a place that can't even be called a room.

When Opal climbed the ladder first with a tickling laugh, it was still the attic that was being stored there.

However, it is properly cleaned, with some duvets and cushions that do not have beds but look comfortable to sleep in.

It's like a secret base.

"Oh. So, how many times...? Anyway, let's start an ops meeting."

"Copy that!"

To Claude's words, which truly remain childhood and say as they continue to do, Opal gave a tribute to the appearance imitation.

Then we both laughed at each other, suppressing our voices.
