[EXES] Chapter 1 – Inexplicable Time Travel

     “Oww.”

Su Mu lay on the pillow. His whole body hurt like being run over by a car, especially his poor chrysanthemum.

Su Mu’s parents are military psychics, so he grew up in the army since childhood. Military training is exceptionally rigorous. Su Mu has been injured a lot, even as a child, but he suffered no ordinary injury this time. As a straight man, he felt the psychological damage was more severe than the physical damage.

The turbulent life in the apocalypse created Su Mu’s habit of sleeping very lightly. A little movement could wake him, so someone who could kidnap him in his sleep without knowing it must not be weak.

Su Mu propped himself up, went into the bathroom to shower, and came out casually wrapped in a towel. He lowered his eyes to check the bruises on his chest, which were particularly eye-catching. A look of disgust flashed in Su Mu’s eyes. He opened the closet beside him to find a piece of clothing to put on. However, to his surprise, the clothes in the closet fit him perfectly, as if they were tailor-made.

Due to physical problems, Su Mu was still pale and thin after living in the army for over 20 years. As for the people who survived until now, there are very few men with a frame as small as his, so it is generally tricky for Su Mu to find clothes that fit well. Each piece was modified by himself to wear.

Su Mu changed into the clothes and carefully surveyed the room. It was neat and clean and fully furnished.

Being able to live in such a good house in the post-apocalyptic world, one can tell at a glance that the person who kidnapped him is either rich or noble or is an influential person with supernatural powers.

But that didn’t affect his dislike for that man.

Su Mu never liked to sit and wait for death. He didn’t know where the captor went. Anyway, he just wanted to escape for now. Replenish your energy, and come back to take revenge when you have enough strength; Su Mu’s eyes darken at the thought. He is the kind of person who holds grudges well.

Su Mu didn’t know who the man was yesterday, but the most urgent thing was to escape. If the man wasn’t there, it would be easier for him to escape.

He has an eighth-level invisibility ability, and it is difficult for even someone with the same level of invisibility to capture his breath and location. While opening the door he stopped immediately, and his heart sank.

His body was empty. He mobilized his abilities as usual, but there was no response. Su Mu didn’t know whether he had been fed an inhibitor or had his abilities disabled, but the lack of powers was highly disadvantageous.

With a military background it goes without saying that he is skilled even without his abilities. Still, because of his size, he was disadvantaged, and many people were better than him.

It was child’s play to escape if he had his powers – but like this…

Su Mu’s palm holding the doorknob was covered with sweat, and he hesitated for a long time before opening the door.

On the other side of the door was a large, neatly furnished living room void of people. Is it possible that the person guarding the house is outside? He swallowed hard and warily opened the front door leading outside with his delicate brows knitted warily.

No one was behind that door either… just some pedestrians passing by one after another, their faces rosy. At the same time, they were dressed in clean clothes.

    Is this the first district?

Except for the dignitaries and high-level power users in the first district, ordinary people in the doomsdays can’t have such good living conditions.

Is there really no one guarding it?

Su Mu’s vigilance is still undiminished. Maybe to that person, he was not important at all, just trying to play something fresh and new. But being reminded of what happened last night, Su Mu’s expression turned ugly.

He raised his eyes, and seeing the blue and pure sky above his head, he froze immediately. The sky has become obscured in the last days, blocking the already weak sunlight. Hence, people’s skin is generally fair, and most ordinary people even have a sickly paleness.

He had only seen such illustrations of the sky in some books about environmental protection, and Su Mu never expected to see it with his own eyes one day. He remembered from the records that as early as three hundred years ago, the day when the end of the world broke out, the sky turned grey and could never be restored again.

Su Mu’s eyelids twitched, and he finally realized something was wrong. As if to verify his thoughts, he took a deep breath and mobilized the abilities in his body, but there was still nothing.

The air in the last days contains a harmful substance, making it difficult for ordinary people to breathe. If they inhale too much, it will shorten their lifespan. However, people with supernatural powers can automatically filter the toxic substances in the air. He obviously couldn’t use his abilities now, but the air in his lungs was fresher than usual, with a faint scent of grass.

Su Mu felt a little overwhelmed when at this moment, a small car stopped in front of him, startling him to subconsciously taking back a step. That’s when he saw a middle-aged man dressed in gold and silver leaving the car.

His gold and silver jewellery dazzled Su Mu, guessing this person should be influential. Out of politeness, he greeted him with a slight nod before going his way.

Unexpectedly, his hand was grabbed by that person, and the middle-aged man said with a smirk, “Oh, baby, what new tricks are you playing again? Look at your serious look. I am really fascinated.”

Saying so, that paw restlessly followed Su Mu’s arm and wanted to slide towards the soft waist, thought in the next second, the whole person was lifted by a strong force and smashed hard to the edge of the flower bed not far away.

“Ouch, ouch, it hurts to death.” His shoulder hit the sharp corner of the flower bed hard, the man’s face turned pale from the pain, and cold sweat dripped down his face.

The pedestrians around saw this scene and gathered together to gossip, but no one dared to come forward to stop it. Several passers-by took out their mobile phones and hesitated whether to call the police.

Su Mu glanced at the man coldly, turned around and left.

“Stop!!” The middle-aged man bared his teeth in pain, and when he looked up, he saw Su Mu was about to leave, so he quickly stopped him.

Su Mu ignored him and did not stop at all.

“Damn it, bitch!” Seeing Su Mu ignoring him, the man scrambled to his feet, endured the pain and said in a nasty voice, “If you take my money, you won’t recognize anyone, will you? Believe it or not! I will just cut off your mother’s medical expenses and drive her out of the hospital!”

There was a sudden sharp pain in his heart as if he had been stabbed hard by something, and the pain quickly dyed Su Mu’s face white.
“No! Don’t!” A voice kept shouting in his heart. The intense sorrow and despair in his tone affected Su Mu deeply.

Su Mu’s eyes were red, but he didn’t know it. He held his chest to endure the pain, turned around and looked at the man, “What did you say?”
What’s the matter with that voice? Also, when did his mother get sick? Does he need someone else to pay for those medical expenses?

When the man saw him turn around, he thought Su Mu was scared, and he smiled recklessly, all the wrinkles on his face piled up, “Come and help me, take good care of me tonight, I’ll let you go, or don’t blame me…”

His voice stopped abruptly, his eyes fixed on Su Mu’s raised fist, and his whole body trembled nervously. He remembered that Su Mu had used such a pair of flawless hands to throw him away just now.

When did this person become so powerful?

When he thought Su Mu would beat him up, the young man suddenly asked: “What’s my name?” The middle-aged man looked confused, “???”

Su Mu’s eyes on the man were impassive, but he clenched his fist so hard that it made a crunching sound.
“Don’t… don’t hit me!!” The man took a few steps back, covering his painful shoulder, face turning pale, “Su Mu! Your name is Su Mu!”

Su Mu hooked his fingers at him, “Come here, I won’t hit you.”

“…” The man hesitated for a while; his shoulder hurt so much that he just wanted to check his wound quickly. Still, when he saw Su Mu’s slightly impatient look, he immediately gave up and moved obediently past. He stopped two steps away before Su Mu and dared not approach even if he was killed.

Despite Su Mu’s apathetic and frightening eyes, as if he had been indifferent to life and death after the vicissitudes of life, he still had that exquisite and pleasant appearance. But the aura was different; there was a faint chilling intent between his brows.

This feeling is like standing in front of a different person.

That man has no unique ability to get to where he is today. Naturally, he relies on his extraordinary eyesight to observe words and expressions. He relies on his instincts to ascertain something is wrong with Su Mu and listens to the other party with his tail between his legs.

Su Mu looked at him coldly, “Where is my mother?”

The man replied tremblingly, “She’s in the VIP ward of XX Hospital. We went there together yesterday.”
He looked up at Su Mu as he said this, trying to catch something on his face, like why the other had suddenly changed, not even remembering his name or what he had just done yesterday.

Su Mu said softly, “Take me to the hospital.”

“Yes, yes.” Facing Su Mu’s calm eyes, the man was so frightened that he quickly bowed his head and responded, not daring to look at him casually.
