The Black Necromancer

372 Driving Out The Demons

Leon and the others convened in a meeting some time after the battle had ended. The A ranks had pulled back but the lower ranks still remained in the field to beat back the lower rank Demons. A few A ranks also remained to make sure that the Demons did not become opportunistic. The core A ranks returned to the forward base, though, as they needed to make some decisions on how to move forward.

When Leon stepped into the meeting room, all eyes fell on him without delay. They were still quite stunned and surprised from the power that his summons were able to display. Just one of them should be enough to match up against Leonidas. And that was a big deal!

Leonidas was the emperor of one of the behemoths of the Central Continent, so his strength was definitely at the peak. But just one of Leon's elite summons was enough to match up against him. Did that not mean that Leon had the strength to wash over several smaller kingdoms and claim their territory for himself?

Some people were a bit tense, as they were not sure of all of Leon's plans. He had already displayed his power, and his intention to make the entire Desolate Lands his own. If he claimed the Desolate Lands, then would he set his eyes on their places next?

Leon wanted to roll his eyes but he had no eyes to do so. Instead, the flames in his skull surged for a moment, snapping everyone to attention.

"Shall we begin?" Leon asked.

"Yes, let us start." Leonidas said. The powerful man had managed to return to his senses, which meant that his empowered state had come to an end. The deactivation of his empowered state revealed his injuries, which showed that he was not at his prime. In fact, by all means, he should not be present in this meeting, but the powerful physique of the Beastkin was emphasized once again as he was able to be present.

"The situation is like this..." Leonidas began to point out various aspects of the earlier battle, highlighting them while explaining how they would proceed. After a few minutes, he stepped back with a sigh and took his seat.

"As long as we continue to push forward, we can drive the Demons off the continent. If we want, we can even take it a step further and cleanse the island that High General Ashtar has built his base of operations." He said finally.

"It is something we can do as soon as possible. We can't let the Demons recover from this battle." From the side, Dion nodded in agreement.

"Good, then that is what we shall do."

Elena stared around her in wonder. The black mist that drifted around her was like a second skin of some sort when she waved her hands through it. It comforted her.

"Congratulations on reaching C rank. I am sure the master will be glad." Rakon said from the side with a smile. He had been present as she changed her class to make sure that nothing went wrong in the process, although the process was relatively safe.

"Thank you." Elena clenched her fist and the black mist was absorbed back into her body. "But I don't think Leon will be too happy." She gave a tight smile.

"And who said I wouldn't?" All of a sudden, Leon's voice appeared behind her.

"L-Leon?!" Elena jumped up and spun around. Already, black mist seeped from her pores as an instinctive reaction to flee came over Elena.

"Yes, it's just me. No need to be too scared." Leon chuckled as he walked in front of her. This time, he did not take his human form. He wanted to be his true self in front of Elena.

"I wasn't scared." Elena pouted and tucked a lock of her red hair behind her ear. She peeked up at Leon with her stunning blue eyes curiously. "I thought you were at the frontlines?"

"I just returned. I heard your Class Change was successful, so I came to congratulate you." Leon said as he walked closer.

"Oh?" Elena mumbled the word beneath her breath.

"Yes. Also, I want to take you out for a bit. You said you wanted to fight without holding back, right?" Leon chuckled.

"Fight?" Elena's head shot up at once. The idea of fighting was something that thrilled her deep down.

"Yes. But supervised, of course." Leon said. He proceeded to explain the current state of the war with the Demons to her before she could start complaining about having to fight while under supervision.

"Oh." Elena said when she got the gist of it.

"Yes. Even if they are on the run, this only gives them the chance to hit harder as they run. I won't be able to explain to your father why you died in the field if anything happens to you." Leon said. At this point, Rakon had already left the two of them alone.

"I can take care of myself." Elena said and turned her face to the side. "And besides, if you're worried about me, then say it. Don't act like you aren't." She said with a sulking tone.

"Ha! Fine, then. I'm worried about you. Does that make you happy?" Leon laughed and patted Elena's head.

"Don't pat my head!" Elena swatted his hand away and vanished in a puff of black mist.

Leon laughed and didn't chase after her. He could feel her presence appear beside Mica's at the back of the mansion. He could have stopped her if he wanted, but he didn't feel like pushing it too much. One step at a time.

Leon walked out of the room and found Rakon standing at the end of the hall dutifully. He approached the Royal White Millipede.

"How is Nedra? Is she doing fine?" He asked.

"Mother is doing well, my Lord. She has been busy with birthing new eggs to expand the millipede family." Rakon replied with a bow.

Leon paused mid stride. She had been what? More millipedes???

"I will go to see her now. I will come to find you later for updates on my father." Leon told the loyal leader of the White Millipedes and vanished with a flash of Light. Rakon nodded once before carrying on and leaving the mansion.

Meanwhile, Leon appeared at the entrance to the underground lair. He looked around and nodded at the millipede guards before walking in silently. He did not waste his time and followed Nedra's aura to find her.

While he could find out what she was doing quite easily, his mind had been occupied by other matters since they parted ways, and he had not bothered to check in on her. After all, there were times when they both needed their own privacy.

Leon followed Nedra's aura to an underground room that he recognized as the initial birthing chamber that was used by the former millipede queen that had usurped Nedra in her time of weakness.

The place was heavily guarded and there was a multitude of female White Millipedes moving about with haste in their steps. When they saw Leon, they paused and bowed to show their respect and adoration before continuing what they were doing. Although most of them had not met Leon since their birth, they all knew who their true master was.

Leon passed through a large archway that was decorated extravagantly. In fact, it looked more like the home of a true monarch than his mansion did.

"Nedra." Leon called out as he passed the archway. He saw another archway a short distance away with a pair of female White Millipede guards on either side of it. They were both Mid B rank, among the strongest of the White Millipedes at this time.

"Oh, Leon! You're here?!" Nedra's surprised voice came from the inside and Leon chuckled. She seemed happy and truly surprised to see him down in the nest.

"I came to visit my favorite Spirit Companion. Or is that no longer an option now that you can take care of yourself?" Leon asked with a laugh as he passed the second archway and came into a very large and spacious chamber.

A great number of large one and half meter tall eggs were spread all over the chamber. He had to pause for a moment after entering because he was not expecting it.

"Oh, I'm here!" Nedra called out to Leon from a lush, white bed. She cradled a small, white haired child in her arms as she called out to him.
