Jiang Yining was afraid that Yu Sui would be persuaded by Tang Li as Yu Sui was silent. She said, “Suisui, don’t allow the others to tear our friendship apart. I’ll meet Teacher Meng this afternoon and reject that role. It’s true. You’re my best friend in college. I never thought that our friendship would be challenged by this opera.”

Yu Sui said, “Then you go on ahead and tell Teacher Meng that you don’t want the role anymore.”

“No.” Jiang Yining denied it. Then, she bit her lower lip. “Since you ask me to go and meet Teacher Meng, surely I’ll go now as long as you believe in me. I didn’t wrong you.”

Yu Sui sneered when she saw Jiang Yining being tolerant of her. “Will you tell Teacher Meng with teary eyes that I was the one who prohibited you from taking up that role later on so, you had no choice but to reject that role?”

“Suisui, why would you think like that?”

“Then, what should I be thinking about now?”

Wu Xuehan became nervous when she saw them arguing between themselves.

She wanted to help them but she did not know how to.

She only had managed to say, “Don’t fight anymore…” when Yu Sui grabbed Jiang Ying’s arm to meet the teacher.

Soon, Wu Xuehan and Tang Li were the only ones left in the hostel.

Tang Li wiped away the stain on her clothes. She seemed to be unaffected by the fight between Yu Sui and Jiang Yining.

She looked up when she felt that Wu Xuehan was watching her. “Why are you staring at me?”

Wu Xuehan looked at Tang Li’s smirk. Her ears became flushed. Then, she approached Tang Li. “Just that… I feel that you’re quite awesome a person all of a sudden.”

In the afternoon, the news about Jiang Yining was all over the college. She had hurt her knees.

“Xu Pan said that Yu Sui had accidentally bumped into Yining while they were at the staircase and that was why she fell down,” Wu Xuehan immediately told Tang Li the firsthand news she had received.

“Yining’s knees were seriously injured and there was a hole-like wound in her knees now. She might not be able to act in the opera anymore.”

That was not so. It was now impossible for Jiang Yining to act in the opera anymore.

It was gray outside when Tang Li got a call from Yuan Jiang.

Yuan Jiang was sitting next to the driver in the car. He took out his phone and called up Li Wenyan after Tang Li had gotten into the car. He updated Li Wenyan about the current situation. “We’ve gotten hold of the young lady and are heading to Garden Song Lin now.”

“Tell her to change into the dress that I’ve prepared for her before you reach Garden Song Lin. Be careful on your way. Don’t let her create any trouble.”

Li Wenyan wanted to speak to Tang Li as he was still worried. Yuan Jiang then handed Tang Li his phone.

Tang Li was hugging her backpack and taking a rest in the car with her eyes closed.

She took the phone from Yuan Jiang when she realized that Li Wenyan wanted to talk to her.

“The Xia family is no ordinary family. Be careful of how you speak and behave when you reach there,” Li Wenyan ordered her with a surprisingly calm voice. “If there’s any problem, just ask me or your aunt. Don’t make your own decisions or act rashly.”

It sounded like they were afraid of any unexpected events. They were worried that she would do something rude when she learned about the arranged marriage.

Tang Li smiled. “Alright.”

Li Wenyan hung up the phone when Ou Yangqian came out of her wardrobe with the coat.

“Is there something wrong? Has Assistant Jiang managed to fetch her?” She sat down in front of the vanity table as she spoke to Li Wenyan. “Ah Li is not so much older than Yuan’er. She might be rebellious. Don’t be too harsh on her.”

Li Wenyan held his phone in his hand and bit his lower lip.

He thought that it would be difficult to get Tang Li to the Xia family. Surprisingly, it had all gone smoothly.

Ou Yangqian then said, “The Xia family is quite a good family. Moreover, Madam Xia seems to adore Ah Li very much. Madam Xia might find her agreeable.”
