Revenge to The Devil

Chapter 48: Perfect Timing

My room was filled with beautiful orange light from the sunlight that shone through the lace curtains from outside. He stared at my eyes silently. My bedroom had a girlish scent and it was so warm, as I heard the rain pouring down outside.

Leaning against my pillow, he came closer and closer to me, his fingers moving down along my shoulders. At that moment, my phone rang. It was dangerous that his intoxicating eyes almost revived my slumbered self.

When I wanted to sit up and answer the phone, he pushed me back into bed with a little effort on his hands. "Can I answer the call?" I asked. Few people knew my cell phone number. In general, only Steven would call me. I guessed that he probably wanted to ask me about my injury.

He reached out to get my cell phone, glancing at the number, he threw it at me with an awful expression. I glanced at the call, as expected, it was Steven.

"How is your face?" he asked.

"Much better after the ointment," I said.

He was silent for a moment and said, "I have a few words to say to you. Do you have time now?"

I looked at Jonathan, who stood by the window looking outside.

"Is it anything important?" I asked.

"Yes, I'm downstairs. Would you come down if it's convenient?" he replied.

I looked out of the window. Steven's car stopped downstairs. He leaned against the door and looked at my window. I seemed to feel his sadness in his voice and actions.

"Well, I'll go down now," I said.

I was about to go downstairs, I heard Jonathan said, "No way!"

"It's none of your business, you're not my boyfriend!" I shouted. His face was pale as if he were trying to control his temper. "Do you love him?" he asked.

I looked at him coldly and said, "Do you think you deserve to be loved?"

As I ran through the corridor, my mind was filled with his sarcastic smile. Before I got into Steven's car, eventually, I couldn't control myself to look at my window. I almost saw his lonely figure and his regretful eyes.

I showed the most brilliant smile to him and said to him in my heart silently: "I love you. I will not leave you, one day if you go to hell, I will accompany you! Even if we were not born at the same time, we can die together!"

It seemed to me that Jonathan was still standing by the window, looking down, waiting for me to return, holding an umbrella and walking with me in the rain. It often rained. But that rainy day wouldn't come back.

Steven asked me, "What are you thinking?"

"Nothing!" I said. I was thinking about the conversation between two women at the next table. One of the women said, "There is some news about my neighborhood."

"What is it?" the other one replied.

"That woman is too cruel. She pretended not to know that her husband is having an affair after they made love, he fell asleep and she stabbed him in the back with a knife," she told her.

"Really? "Perhaps the deeper the love is, the stronger the hatred can be!" her friend said.

After listening to the conversation, weird thoughts went through my mind. If I gave him my body, would he be exhausted afterward and go into a slumber? I started planning my revenge and wondered whether my plan would work. Maybe I could get rid of Jonathan after all.

"Desiree?" it was Steven speaking to me.

"Ah? I'm sorry! What did you say?" I replied in a daze.

"I just asked you, Mr. Li has been very kind to you over the years?"

Memories reemerged from many years ago, there were many problems. Drinking the coffee, I told him the details of our lives together. I couldn't remember exactly how old I was, but I knew that I was very young.
