Revenge to The Devil

When woke up in the morning, I looked at my red and swollen lips in the mirror and gave up the idea of going to school. I called Jonathan when going downstairs, telling him I wasn't going to school because of some matters. He said it's right and didn't even ask about what happened.

As I sat at the table waiting for breakfast, Emma said to me, "Do you know, miss? When you had breakfast at home before, Mr. Li would wait for you here no matter how early he got up. He didn't leave until you had finished your breakfast. Recently you haven't been eating at home, he goes to the company directly without any breakfast."

"Oh really?" I replied. While she was talking, Jonathan came downstairs. He had already put on his coat and seemed ready to go out. Seeing me sitting at the table, after a moment of hesitation, he took off the coat and sat opposite me.

What's more surprising, he said to me, "Why not go out to eat today?"

I licked my swelling lips. "No," I said.

His mouth twitched and revealed a hint of a smile. I hadn't seen him smile for a long time, so I almost forgot the sight of his gentle face. Suddenly seeing it, my heart was beating out of rhythm, and only went back to normal after a long time.

"Since you won't go to school, will you have lunch at home?" he asked me.

"Maybe," I said.

"I'm going to the office and will come back soon. You can wait for me for lunch," I heard him say before he left.

"Oh!" I replied.

No indifference, no love, and hatred existed, but we were like strangers when having a simple meal. As soon as he went out, I called Lisa to ask if she was free. She said she started work at eleven and asked me to wait for her at the clubhouse. She would come early.

Jonathan's new lover folded her arms, had a domineering attitude, and used dirty words. If I had the opportunity, I really wanted to let Jonathan see how 'pure' his new lover was. After sitting for a while, Lisa finally came, and I waved at her, saying, "Here!" His new love glanced at me and continued to scold the waiter.

Lisa sat down and looked over there. She said with an annoyed expression, "It is unbearable that this kind of woman is the boss' new lover."

"What mistake did the waitress make? How could she get so angry with her?" I asked Lisa. "She's in a bad mood!" Lisa replied, then leaned close to me, mysteriously, and said, "Your father hasn't been here since you made a mess that night in my clothes."

"My dad?" I said. I drank my lemon juice with my head down.

"You see, she's just a prostitute but she considers herself a queen," Lisa said. "We can't offend this kind of person. We could lose our jobs if she spoke ill of us in front of the boss," she added.

"Must you work here? Can't you go to other places?" I said.

"There's no place better than here! I have a classmate who dances at another night club, the guests have excessive requests. And she must take off her clothes when asked. You grew up in a bubble and don't know the dark side of society," Lisa told me.

Maybe, Jonathan protected me well, he would never force me to do anything I didn't want to do. I grew up taking his care for granted. Now thinking about it, I was cruel to a certain extent!

"Desiree?" Lisa noticed my lips and blinked her eyes at me with an evil smile: "What's wrong with your mouth? The new handsome boyfriend is very passionate!"

But I replied, "Sister Lisa, I think there is something wrong with Jonathan's spirit!"

Lisa almost fell off her chair. After sitting down, she said to me very seriously, "I'd rather believe that it is you who has a mental problem."

"Yesterday he kissed me for no reason, and he said that he would keep me by his side, even if I hate him! What does it mean?" I said.

"Ah!" she glared at me and said, "Is he trying to revive your relationship?"

"What!" I said.

He couldn't play tricks on me in that way. I just got over him. But recollecting his expression and eyes last night, I seriously doubt that it was possible. "Did Steven make him even more possessive?" I wondered.
