Primordial Dimensions

Chapter 333 - Support MVP

The first wave of beasts was a group of 10 silverhorn coyotes. Their combat prowess was barely comparable to superior peak-awakened beasts and the group of four had defeated them within a minute.

Cosmo had used a spatial portal to allow Umbra to emerge in the center of their group, where he had been able to wreak havoc.

Meanwhile, Shane used his bow to shoot at the silverhorn coyotes that were the farthest away and Princess Ilya conjured darkness spears to do the same.

After the first batch of 10 silverhorn coyotes had been taken care of, fresh waves consisting of 20, 30, and 40 silverhorn coyotes followed suit.

Every single time the last silverhorn coyote had been killed a new wave appeared. Yet, instead of making use of this mechanism to rest after every wave before killing the last silverhorn coyote, Shane, his tamed beasts, and Princess Ilya rushed through all four waves in less than 20 minutes.

Umbra and Cosmo's teamwork had been flawless and Shane began to wonder whether they were practicing some special moves to increase their coordination inside the Hidden Paradise.

To this, Shane received a reaffirmed answer that was filled with complaints about him not spending any time with Umbra and Cosmo..

This was certainly true, and Shane could only feel bad about this.

'Maybe I should stop cultivating for months at once and spend more time with others too? Even without cultivating, there are many things I can do while being with Umbra and Cosmo…'

He scratched the back of his head and didn't even notice the notification he and Ilya had received.

[Task <Kill> has been successfully accomplished in [18M:35S]. Threshold reached. Choice to continue with the 5th wave has been unveiled!

Remark: Rejecting to continue won't have any negative consequences. The standard reward will be distributed]

When Ilya called him, Shane was pulled out of his thoughts, and only then did he finally read the notification.

"Let's continue. During the next wave, I can enter close combat too. My physical strength alone should be enough to get rid of the silverhorn coyotes!"

Ilya just nodded her head, glad to have brought Shane to the dungeon. His strength was many times higher than she had expected.

Even though her own pace was extremely fast with her mana purity reaching 93% at a rapid speed, Shane had the advantage of being strong and having two tamed beasts next to him.

Princess Ilya was also aware of the fact that Shane didn't have an occupation yet! This meant that he was trying to obtain a high-quality occupation or a rare one!

As they readied themselves for the 5th wave, Cosmo warned Shane about more than a hundred mana fluctuations that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere. They had been more than 300 meters away, and behind a corner that prevented Shane from seeing them.

They were the same silverhorn coyotes as before, the only difference was that their size seemed to have increased, while their muscles had become bulkier.

The silverhorn coyotes might have been the exact same race, but Shane could instantly tell that their quality had increased by one, if not two ranks.

Under normal circumstances, one would feel oppressed and nervous due to a sudden increase in the opponents' strength and number, however, that was not the case for Shane and Ilya.

From the beginning, they hadn't utilized their complete strength, and not a single skill had been put to effect as well.

The only effects they had used were that of their passive skills, the equipment they possessed, and their affinities.

Shane was not involved in the latter, but his tamed beasts were.

Nevertheless, by exerting the [Slaughterer's Path] technique, his [Light steps] movement technique, and the [Mana membrane(Lesser)] skill, Shane's strength had increased drastically.

Cosmo had manifested two different sets of spatial portals, one for Umbra and one for Shane to transport them to different locations of the battlefield.

Shane wouldn't be able to overcome the number of opponents at once.

Thus, he emerged behind the silverhorn coyotes, while Umbra's appearance right in the center of their large group distracted them.

After they had emerged inside the fray and started to fight, Cosmo ran around, trying to find a better position to observe the entire battle.

He may not like to fight and was not strong enough to face the silverhorn coyotes head on, but Cosmo was confident of playing a significant role in defeating their enemies.

By manifesting several spatial portals, he forced the fleeing silverhorn coyotes to appear right in front of Umbra's gigantic mouth that crunched them to death.

Ilya had begun to use her most basic skills that required nothing but her affinity and mana to be utilized before her attention was drawn to the backend of the battlefield.

Shane's entire being was thirsting for blood, and the bloodlust-killing-intent he released was thick and tightly enveloped around his entire body.

With the Sword of Blood, Mydra in his hands he sliced and thrusted into the silverhorn coyotes that had underestimated his strength.

He hadn't utilized even a trace of mana from the Hidden Paradise yet, and Shane didn't plan to do so while venturing through the first few floors of the fluare tower dungeon either.

Who knew how much mana he would have to use during the more difficult floors, after all!

It was important to pay attention to his mana consumption, and that he didn't use too many skills that had a restricted usage per day!

From the outside, it might not look like he was able to think level-headedly, but other than Shane and his tamed beasts, nobody knew that his control over his thirst for blood had reached an extremely high degree.

Only a few months ago, he hadn't been able to summon his thirst for blood and killing intent that easily, but now, it was possible for him to release and retract it, even if nobody were to die at the end of the day!

This may seem interesting, but for Shane, it was just another tool that reinforced his strength.

Shane twisted his body to an uncomfortable degree in order to evade the silverhorn coyotes' silver horns that were more than half a meter long.

The silverhorn coyote could quickly lunge out with their head, stabbing their opponent with the horn and return to the position they had been standing a moment earlier, which allowed them to play safe.

Unfortunately, this only worked if their numerical advantage or strength was at par, if not higher than their opponent.

Because this was not the case, Shane could deflect the silverhorns with his longsword before using the tiny opening he had created to slash out with Mydra, inflicting a deep gash into the silverhorn coyote in front of him.

It was difficult to kill the silverhorn coyotes with one swift blow because there were simply too many of them attacking Shane at once.

However, this didn't prevent him from inflicting severe injuries that were deep enough to kill his opponents over time.

In less than 10 minutes, Umbra had killed more than 40 silverhorn coyotes without having sustained a single serious injury, while both Shane and Ilya had killed the remaining beasts.

Cosmo's task as a means to support everyone had been well utilized, and he had prevented Umbra and the others from receiving serious injuries by manifesting spatial portals around him.

This could be considered to be the most difficult job, and one could see how exhausted Cosmo was as he laid down on the ground before stretching his tiny body.

The fifth wave's difficulty had already increased drastically, and Shane began to wonder how many more waves they would have to face when a notification popped up in front of him.
