Necromancer Supreme System

Chapter 31: Maya Gains Her System

Maya noticed the change in the foggy Maya's tone, as she recalled the words her past self said to that woman. Before she could say anything, the foggy Maya said:

"I have to say you have a fierce competition with this girl. She was part of the demon clan when Rioneed fell in her love, and that caused the great war to erupt.

She isn't a foe to be taken lightly, she is now a human just like you, and I'm sure the demon clan has made sure she would awaken her system first."

Maya didn't totally understand her words as she asked:

"What do you mean by that?"

"I mean she is a traitor, a traitor who played with my beloved man to make him go astray of his route. She was the poison our enemies sent to destroy us. Rioneed failed to see this, and now we are in this crisis because of her, because he loved her.

Demon clan won't let the advantage they paid a lot to get go away like this. Their spy would gain the upper hand here, and so her system would be activated first.

You need to know you were the first wife of Rioneed, and so you have great responsibility in standing against that traitor and never let her enjoy her victory.

You need to embrace me, to accept me, to let me in you so I can help you be victorious. As she had her own cheat trick, I also have prepared mine."

Maya understood the meaning of her words now, and yet she couldn't understand from where all this hatred came from.

"So you also have a trick like her, is this a competition over my man?" Maya asked.

"Yes, as the position of the first lady must be yours. This position is very important in destroying the demon's plans for Rioneed," the foggy Maya said, "now do you believe me or not?"

Maya was hesitant so she said:

"I want to see the end of that memory."

The foggy Maya stood there silently watching her for a long minute, then she said:

"Fine, but you won't be able to hear any word said in it."

"Why?" Maya asked.

"Because it's too early for you to hear those words."

The foggy Maya's response was immediate, so Maya felt she couldn't get more out of her if she stressed more. So, she nodded and in return the foggy Maya took her at once inside the memory.

As the last time, she could only see the faces of her, Ibro, and Oya. As for the others, she couldn't see anything through the fog that clouded their faces.

She stood there motionless watching the heated debate that was going on. the quarrel she witnessed its beginning hadn't ended yet, however she couldn't hear a single word from them.

When she tried to focus on their lips, she found to her surprise she couldn't. something was there cutting the lips movements and interrupted her observation.

The foggy Maya didn't give her a chance to know anything that she wasn't allowed to know. It seemed she took this seriously, very seriously than anything else.

Maya didn't understand but she noticed the heat cooled off gradually as Oya and Maya stopped talking and pointing to each other with their fists. Ibro was the only one speaking right now, and he spoke for over two minutes alone.

He seemed to give them a final speech or explain something very important. However when he stopped talking, something began to happen. smoke began to rise from the land around him.

This smoke was like no other smoke Maya had seen before. It began to become thicker with every passing second until it covered Ibro's whole body.

For another minute, that smoke kept whirling around Ibro, clouding him from any eye, and then it began to fade away. The smoke vanished slower than it appeared, however what he did to Ibro was so weird.

"What the hell is that?!"

The memory ended by the reveal of the complete form of Ibro, who wasn't the old self anymore. Ibro was now a big skeleton with thick grayish thick bones, riding over a bony horse that was nearly double his size. He wielded a great sword and a big shield.

"Do you know him?" the foggy Maya asked with doubt.

"Yes, he is the alpha death knight of Ibro. I met him a lot," Maya replied as she was yet confused about the presence of the alpha death knight in her old self's memory.

"You said he was with Ibro?" the foggy Maya asked again. Maya sensed something was off here, so she asked back:

"Why do you care about him? isn't this a necromancer curse my Ibro used like your Rioneed did?"

The foggy Maya shook her head as she replied:

"No, you don't get it. this isn't a curse, it was something Rioneed found out with coincidence. This is a way to preserve part of his soul, like we all did. we have our systems, and he had his system and the alpha knight.

It wasn't supposed for the two to meet until after the battle royal, and that means the battle royal has already happened."

The last words of her seemed like she was speaking to herself. For Maya she didn't understand what she was referring to, but at least she knew that alpha death knight was Rioneed, her own boyfriend and lover's past self.

Wait a second, if he was really your Rioneed, then why didn't he tell Ibro about this?" Maya asked.

"That's simply because he couldn't. if he revealed this truth to Ibro before time, Ibro might not believe him. He needed to be with Ibro not away from him."

The words of foggy Maya weren't as usual clear, but Maya didn't press the matter. She knew even if she asked further she wouldn't get a satisfying answer.

"Fine, let's do this. What do you need me to do?"

After all this talk, Maya had some grasp over the current situation. What made her somehow trust the foggy Maya was the presence of the alpha death knight.

"You don't need anything, just stand there and let me enter your body and mind. In minutes you will pass out for a couple of hours then you will regain your consciousness with your system," the foggy Maya said.

"That's pretty much for just a system. Ok let's do it," Maya said as she looked directly towards her foggy self. Foggy Maya didn't need to hold back after she got the consent of her reincarnation, so she moved to enter Maya's body from the eyes, nose, ears, and mouth.

The process didn't last for minutes, during which Maya was like someone who was sucking all the fog in the world into her lungs. After that, she felt her mind become fuzzy and she felt dizzy.

She couldn't even move a step before her body lost its balance as she fell on the ground motionless losing her consciousness and entering into deep sleep.
