When Ji Liunian saw that Xu Zhiyin had not returned after a long time, he went out to look for her.

From far, he saw Xu Zhiyin and Chuxia by the fountain. He watched them for a while and just as he was about to walk over toward them, he saw both of them getting into a fight.

Chuxia grabbed Xu Zhiyin’s arms and pushed Xu Zhiyin who was wearing a long dress, into the fountain.

Pitter patter, the water drenched Xu Zhiyin’s face. Xu Zhiyin was caught off guard and choked after swallowing two gulps of water. She got up and reprimanded. “Are you crazy?”

The sudden push had scared her out of her wits.

Chuxia stood by the fountain without a bit of shame and uneasiness. “This is a warning! I have nothing now. If you dare fight over Liunian with me, I’ll make you pay the price.”

Xu Zhiyin was all wet and unkempt. She was extremely mad and couldn’t accept Chuxia’s threat. “I won’t give up!”

She had liked Ji Liunian for many years! Before she thought Ji Liunian made Chuxia pregnant, she had never thought of giving up.

That moment, Chuxia’s threat was meaningless to her.

Xu Zhiyin swam toward the front, intending to get up. Chuxia stood in front of her. “Why, are you thinking of going to see Ji Liunian in this state?”

“It’s none of your business, excuse me!” Xu Zhiyin tried to climb up but Chuxia took the opportunity to push her back into the water.

The hand Ji Liunian used to hold Chuxia was trembling. Even Chuxia did not expect Ji Liunian to be this angry because of Xu Zhiyin.

Ji Liunian let go of Chuxia indifferently. “You’re too much! How can you treat Zhiyin like this?”

He couldn’t believe Chuxia would push Zhiyin into the water. It didn’t seem something Chuxia would do.

This was the first time he got angry with her. Chuxia was stunned for several seconds before regaining her senses.

“Why? Is your heart aching?”

Ji Liunian blinked. Yes, his heart was aching! This was out of his expectation too. He was mad at his beloved Chuxia for the sake of Xu Zhiyin.

When he didn’t deny, Chuxia smiled bitterly. “Both of you have divorced and you care for her in front of me? What about me? You said you would look after me and won’t abandon me! Everyone has abandoned me, are you thinking of abandoning me too?”

Ji Liunian’s jaw was tight. He did not answer. This tactic had probably been used too many times by Chuxia and he was numb at this moment.

He didn’t care about Chuxia and put all his attention on Xu Zhiyin. He asked worriedly, “Are you alright?”

Xu Zhiyin’s widened her big eyes and stared at Ji Liunian blankly.

They had known one another for so long and this was the first time Ji Liunian chose to stand by her side to care about her in front of Chuxia.

Although Chuxia had been too much today, in the past, no matter how extreme Chuxia was, Ji Liunian would shield her fault and favor her. His love had no principle.

When Ji Liunian saw Xu Zhiyin staring at him without response, he was worried she had fallen and become stupid. Just when he was about to get into the water to help her up, Xu Zhiyin regained her senses and stopped him. “I’m alright. I can get up myself. Don’t dirty your clothes.”

She was not that weak and it was not cold that moment!

Xu Zhiyin got up very quickly. Her appearance was unkempt but her heart was touched.

Ji Liunian stood by the fountain and stretched his hand out to pull her up.

Xu Zhiyin thanked him, “Thank you.”

She only fell into the water and choked. Initially, she was really angry but after Ji Liunian scolded Chuxia, she felt her fall was worth it.

Ji Liunian looked at Xu Zhiyin from the side and realized this woman would never be defeated. She seemed weak but there was toughness in her bones.

The wet clothes on her body showed her exquisite figure. Ji Liunian looked at Xu Zhiyin and was stupefied.

When Xu Zhiyin noticed him staring at her, she lowered her head to look at herself and realized how unkempt she was.

She fidgeted in discomfort. Why did she appear in front of him in this manner?

It was embarrassing!

Ji Liunian walked over and draped his outer coat over her shoulders. “Are you sure you’re alright?”

Chuxia stood by the side and watched as Ji Liunian who had always put his focus on her, cared for Xu Zhiyin in front of her. She was very unhappy.

It was at moments like this that she didn’t want to abide to her destiny. She walked over and called, “Liunian…”

Ji Liunian didn’t bother about her and didn’t look at her. He didn’t want to respond to this woman.

Chuxia laughed. “Are you blaming me? Since you blame me for pushing her, I’ll give it back to her!”

Immediately after she finished her sentence, she jumped into the fountain. If she were as unkempt as Xu Zhiyin, Ji Liunian would not hate her!

Ji Liunian caught hold of Chuxia and tugged her to one side, not allowing her to jump into the water. He looked at her like looking at a lunatic. “Have you had enough? I asked you to go home first but you didn’t want to. Did you come here to create havoc? Today is my father’s birthday, do you have to do this? Are you only satisfied when everyone hates you?”
