Mr. Handsome I Love You

Chapter 32:Ch 32: Don’t you realize how much you mean to me?”

One thing was for sure, she was so relieved that he was here with her. After his plane landed, Owen took her hand and helped her down the steps and they were met by Rupert, his bodyguard at the Limousine who handed Owen a package and in exchange took his bag to put it in the trunk of the car.

Once inside he sat next to her and tore open the package putting the contents into his hand and held it toward Abigail. "What is this?" "Your phone." He answered with an edge of authority.

She laughed hearing the tone in his voice, "you were concerned. This isn't necessary." "It is." He held it toward her, "Take it, Abigail, it makes me feel better to know that I can check on you." "You are serious." Her smile faded.

She honestly thought he was kidding about the phone. "Very." He answered keeping his expression steeled. Slowly she reached over and took the phone, " Owen this is a side of you I haven't seen before." He seemed almost possessive.

"If you mean that I'm concerned for the well being of my fiancé who just lost her cousin and ran away from me—" "I didn't run away." She said exasperated. "A note isn't appropriate." "I already told you that I didn't want to disturb you."

"What if something happened to you? Where the hell would that leave us?" he let his voice rise and instantly regretted it when her lips parted in surprise, "Listen, Abigail," he softened his tone, "Don't you realize how much you mean to me?"

"No, I don't." she said in astonishment, "I can't read your mind. Just when I think you're about to say something, you change the subject or leave." It was his turn to look surprised, "Lord Abigail, I've known you forever. You're the only woman I've allowed to know me more than Alice."

"What?" "Didn't you know that?" "No." she shook her head in bafflement. "I just thought you thought of me much like the little sister of a friend.

I know what a jewel I have, and sometimes I act like an only child and don't want to share." She was about to respond when his phone rang. "I need to get this." He said as he pulled it out and looked at the number on the display.

What poor timing! Just when she thought he would say something profound they were interrupted. "I understand." Again, he probably put his whole corporation on hold to come after her and knew he had a lot to manage. That alone should have told her that he cared about her.

Who else could brag about such a thing? Could his past girlfriends? She still wasn't sure about all of his past and the women that she needed to compete with and that alone crushed her hopes again.
