Mr. Handsome I Love You

Chapter 18:Ch 18: It's all right

His chest rose and fell in even breaths while he slept and soon she realized that he hadn't relinquished his grip on her.

His one arm was underneath her shoulder and his hand rested on the small of her back. He couldn't be too comfortable still wearing the clothes from the funeral, but he did it for her, she knew he did so as not to leave her as she asked. Not even to change his clothes. She felt her stomach twinge. This couldn't possibly be a pity, could it?

She studied his peaceful expression thinking he looked so beautiful under the dim light that crept in between the curtains and silhouetted his profile. His straight autocratic nose and sensual masculine mouth were easy to see.

She allowed her eyes to linger there for a moment wondering what they felt like against hers. Biting her bottom lip to try and distract herself from the image, her eyes went to the window, dark outside, then to the clock. It was two o'clock in the morning. She had slept for six hours undisturbed with him next to her.

It was the first time in months since Joseph had gone overseas that she had slept so well. In the silence of the room, she heard his breathing alter.

Darting her eyes back to his she met his yellow gaze. Suddenly all her senses became hotwired as she realized that her body was pressed against his hard form and she heard her breathing pattern change. "It's all right."

She heard him whisper and his hand came up and brushed a stray lock of hair off her face that escaped her chignon and tenderly tuck it behind her ear, "Lay down Abigail."

He added while circling his hand around to the back of her head to urge her to do so. "You aren't going to leave are you?" she heard herself say as she tucked her head back down on his shoulder. Her free hand splayed across his expansive chest.

It didn't escape her how well-formed he was, but she did her best to ignore the proximity and her reaction to it.

His other hand stayed on her cheek with his fingers spread on either side of her ear. She didn't ask him to remove it and he didn't offer it. His thumb gently massaged her temple soothing her.

"No." came the answer, "I'll stay as long as you want." "I feel foolish…poor Alice." " Alice understands." He said softly. "It's just…well…what she said about family." "I know." She sniffed, "I never thought she felt that way."

"We both do." She couldn't respond to that. Did he? Laying there next to him made her realize a whole multitude of things.

One, his body was perfect, hard and warm, and it became suddenly clear to her that she wanted him, more than just a companion, more than what he offered her. She wanted him like this, next to her forever.

Two, he was very considerate over her feelings and she wondered if other women had seen this side of him. Three, she felt safe and secure for the first time since she could remember.

Lastly, she was hopelessly in love with him even after all of these years and the affection combined with the tenderness he'd displayed over the past few days made her heart swell even more than she thought possible.

There was a distinct faint odor of expensive cologne mixed with his scent and it just added to her attraction toward him.
