Meeting My Abductor Again

"What do you mean Talia?"

"Exactly what I just said" as I say it firmly.

"Who said that I kidnaped you?"

"Stop playing dumb please. I know everything. You are the one who knocked me out and staged this whole story."

"Please don't hate me Talia." As he begs.

"I want to know why you did it"

"I couldn't find another way."

"Of what?"

He sighs "I didn't have enough time to convince you to go with me. I knew you wouldn't leave Axel."

"So the solution was to kidnap"

"I know its bad what I did Talia. I just wanted you to be safe."

"Safe how?"

"I wanted you to be happy with us."

"No, you were using me to get back at Axel. Of course, I was his wife so I would make great collateral when the right time came."

"Yes I had that in mind at first. When I saw you and spoke to you everything changed?"

"You think that I am going to believe that" as I roll my eyes.

"I'm being honest. When I saw who you were, I genuinely meant what I said. That conversation with you was real. So were the rest."

I look down because I don't know what to believe anymore. It seems as if I am being pulled at every angle and direction. "Talia"

"I don't know if I can trust you. I don't know what's real or not."

"Everything is real."

"You mean the part where you kidnapped. Yep that is real."

"Talia. I promise you. The more I spoke to you the more I cared. You are the only person that has seen me in a vulnerable place." I look at his eyes and he seems to be telling the truth.

"I don't know. You knew I belong to Axel, so I don't know what the agenda was for you."

"Please Talia don't say that. You can get a divorce and we can start anew, and we can go anywhere you want to go. You name it."

"Do you think Axel would let us go just like that? He has been looking for me all this time and I don't think he will just look the other way."

"You don't worry about Axel I will handle him."

"Don't do anything to him please. I have to still think about it. I don't know if your intentions are pure or not."

"They are Talia. Why would I have taught you how to fight and defend yourself?"

I think about it for a bit and I get confused all over again. "I don't know what to believe anymore." is all that I can say.

"I even let you take on mission because I truly trust you Talia. You can have all the freedom you want with me. I would never abandon you."

"Axel also didn't abandon me since you took me without my consent and on top of that you lied to me."

"I know. I was trying to do what's best for you."

"By lying?"

"No. I just wanted you to be happy okay."

"Why does my happiness matter to you?"

"It matters because I like you." As he says it in a defeated manner.

I don't know what to say or how to respond to that. I gather my thoughts. "You mean as a team player?"

"No Talia. As in I want you to be with me for the rest of your life."
