[The Divine Gift Ceremony, Again]

It was finally the day of the Divine Gift Ceremony.

Tayte, Jarvis, and I had asked Ms. Teixeira’s permission to watch the proceedings.

She had easily given us the OK, likely because I was the one who brought up the idea in the first place, and Tayte and Jarvis were close to Eureka.

“Good luck, Eureka,” Tayte said, raising her small fists in an encouraging gesture.

“I-I wonder if this is going to work out…” Eureka muttered, looking pessimistic.

“You don’t have to be that nervous,” I said.

“Right. Just relax and go do it,” Jarvis advised.

“Y-yes!”

Sent off by me, Tayte, and Jarvis, Eureka headed to the altar. Waiting there was Mia, the new priestess, who would later become a member of Raul’s harem in【The Rise of the Weakest Holy Swordsman】.

Though I must say…

“You must be Eureka. I’m Mia, the priestess who will be conducting your Divine Gift Ceremony. Thank you for your cooperation today.”

“N-no… I should be the one to thank you! Thank you for letting me partake in the Divine Gift Ceremony!”

On one hand, there was Eureka, Raul’s crush, on the other, there was Miss Mia, who would later become a member of Raul’s harem.

Hmm…

Knowing the dynamic of their relationship in the original storyline, I couldn’t but have mixed feelings.

Raul, the center of it, wasn’t around.

“Well then, let us begin.” In front of Miss Mia, there was the same box as the one which I got the Holy Sword from. Miss Mia infused it with a special kind of mana—one that apparently could only be manipulated by the chosen ones who had broken through the training imposed by the god.

Once she was done, it was finally time for Eureka to receive the item fated for her.

“Eureka…” Tayte wore a worried look.

Her little right hand touched the back of my left hand. I felt it shaking slightly, so I grabbed and squeezed it tightly. Tayte got startled and froze for a moment, but she didn’t pull away her hand and squeezed mine back.

“Here I go…”

Eureka poured her mana into the box as she had been taught beforehand.

Would she bring out the Staff of Dawn, just like in the original storyline?

Before long, the box glowed, and then—it began to vibrate violently.

This phenomenon didn’t happen when I got the Holy Sword or when Raul got the Demon Sword. It seemed to be an unusual situation to the church side too, as Mia-san wore a confused look, and the other priests who were overseeing nearby surrounded the box.

“That doesn’t seem normal…”

“W-was there something wrong…?”

Jarvis and Tayte let out anxious voices.

In the next moment—the box’s lid burst open with a ‘Dang!”.

“““““Wha—?!”””””

That took me by surprise.

As everyone in the room froze due to the unforeseen event, the billowing white smoke gradually cleared away, revealing the summoned item.

There was no doubt about it, that was—the【Staff of Dawn】.

“Ohh! Isn’t this—”

“T-the Staff of Dawn?!”

“One of the legendary magic tools comparable to the Holy Sword!”

Thanks for the explanation.

Still, its appearance sure made a greater impact than that of the Holy Sword or the Demon Sword. …Then again, the Demon Sword’s appearance had Raul get kicked out, whereas the Holy Sword’s was overshadowed by the impact of the excessive production arranged by (former) Barrett… ugh, I still remembered the cringe…

That aside, the appearance of the Staff of Dawn caused a big uproar.

Tayte and Jarvis seemed to recognize the Staff of Dawn’s name too, and they gave various exclamations along the line of “Amazing!”, “Unbelievable!”, and so on.

Eureka, meanwhile, gently touched the Staff of Dawn.

The moment her hand made contact, the enormous amount of mana covering the staff went inside Eureka. This meant that the staff recognized Eureka as its master.

This scene sent the academy teachers into a great flurry.

“T-to think the Staff of Dawn would recognize a student…”

“I have to correct you there, she isn’t a student.”

“W-what?!”

Mhm.

With this, it would only be a matter of time before the academy decided to give an admission offer to Eureka.

The academy couldn’t afford to leave such a promising young girl alone, after all.

“You’re amazing, Eureka!”

“True that, I was honestly surprised, too.”

“Young Mistress Tayte, Lord Jarvis… thank you very much!” Eureka was so moved that she burst into tears. Her eyes shifted to me. Then…

“You too, Lord Barrett. Thank you very much!” She thanked me in a loud voice.

I smiled gently and replied, “I’m glad for you.”

For now, Eureka’s enrollment flag had been raised.

All that was left was… to improve her relationship with Raul
