Journey Towards Greatness

Chapter 1286: End Of The Four Kings

Gyarados stared at the four kings and wondered who he should take out first. After giving it a thought, he stared at Wailord and decided to take it out first.

Since Wailord was being a coward and attacked him from behind, Gyarados decided to take it out first.

Gyarados opened his mouth wide and started to collect dark energy between his jaw and then used Dark Pulse on Wailord. The Dark Pulse tore through the water like paper and made its way towards Wailord.

Even though Wailord saw this attack coming but he could do nothing but take it head-on. The Dark Pulse landed right on the dome of its head.

The attack smashed Wailord's head into the ground, sinking it into the sandy floor. Wailord got knocked out cold.

Seeing this, the other three kings were shocked. They never thought that Wailord would be taken down so easily. They also realized that they have overestimated this little team-up of theirs.

It was bound to fail from the very beginning because this Gyarados is a monster.

Samurott [We need to attack together or we will get destroyed.]

Kingdra [Yes, let's do that. Golisopod attack with all your power.]

Kingdra said and turned to look at Golisopod to see it missing. Kingdra panicked and started to look around but couldn't find Golisopod anywhere.

Kingdra and Samurott didn't see it, but the moment Gyarados attacked Wailord, Golisopod ran away, realizing that he would be wasting his time here. He didn't want to waste his energy.

The possibility of getting seriously injured was also very high, so why would he even stay there? So Golisopod made the best decision. To run away.

With Golisopod nowhere to be found, the two kings realized that their chance of winning has gone from zero to negative numbers. Their only option right now is to escape.

They cursed themselves for not being as smart as Golisopod and making a run for their life, but it was too late to regret it.

One thing they have learned from all the battles they have been through throughout their life is that they should never turn their back on their enemies, but this time, it is totally different.

If they stand up and face Gyarados, they are going to get destroyed. And if they try to turn their back and run, they are going to get destroyed.

There is no right and wrong choice here for them to make.

Both kings looked at each other and knew what to do. Without speaking to each other, they knew what the other party was thinking.

If both of them ran away in different directions, the Gyarados can only target one of them and it could be either one of them.

Their survival depended on their luck. The lucky one will escape while the other will get demolished by Gyarados.

They looked into each other's eyes and started to nod their head to the count of three. One, two, and three. With the third nod of their head, they both bolted in the opposite direction and it looks like their plan worked.

Gyarados turned his head and looked in both directions and decided to choose one. His eyes locked into Samurott and used Dark Pulse.

The Dark Pulse tore through the water and hit Samurott. Before the move even landed, Samurott felt it coming, and it cursed its bad luck. It was a fifty-fifty chance that Samurott would be chosen and it was relying on this one thing.

It knew it could be the one or it might not.

'Well, whatever.' Samurott thought and felt a crushing power hitting his back, but he accepted it willingly and got sent shooting through the water while getting knocked out.

About a few hundred meters away from Samurott's fallen body is Kingdra swimming as fast as it can, seeing that it has not been attacked till now. It gets excited.

Kingdra [Yes! I managed to escape. The Gyarados chose Samurott, giving me enough time to escape.]

Kingdra said to itself excitedly as it made a swim for its life, but little does it know Gyarados doesn't show mercy.

After dealing with Samurott, Gyarados brought his focus back on Kingdra.

Gyarados remembers this annoying bug from yesterday, Gyarados let it go even though it showed hostility at him as it didn't bother to approach him. But now it has all changed, this bug decided to team up and disturb Gyarados' peace and that needs to be punished.

Gyarados looked in the direction where Kingdra fled and started to charge up a powerful attack. Though Gyarados couldn't sense Kingdra, he can sense it.

Gyarados is a pokemon that has broken his limit and has leveled up over 100. He can sense pokemons kilometers away from him.

He charged up a Dragon Pulse and the energy radiating from him started to heat up the surrounding water, which soon started to boil.

Because of this, the bubbles started to travel to the surface, but Gyarados is still not done charging up the Dragon Pulse.

Once Gyarados was done, he shot it towards the fleeing Kingdra. The Dragon Pulse completely evaporated the water it came in contact with and continued forward at extreme speed. It traveled 100s of meters within seconds.

Kingdra, who is very excited to have escaped from a very dangerous situation, doesn't have any idea that a move is going to put an end to its delusion.

Before Kingdra could even realize what it happening, it felt a dangerous chill run down its spine. As it turned its back to see what was happening, it was already too late.

The Dragon Pulse hit it right on its face and sent it tearing through the water, knocking it out cold. The damage taken from this attack will make sure that this Kingdra will never reach its peak again.

Gyarados sensed that it was done with all three intruders. As for the one that escaped, Gyarados didn't bother to check on it as he knows. It won't dare to show its face here ever again.
