I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 89: The Guardian's Demon Siblings

A massive creature loomed over the city of Nefantine like a dark cloud, blocking the moon and the stars around it. It did not move or fly, it was only raising its wings and hovered.

The people could only run and scream for their lives as the threat approaches. Even for a normal citizen, the presence and aura of the giant dragon shook them to the core. Their veins could only shiver in fear, their knees began to weaken as they struggled to escape the city.

"Lilith will come in 10 minutes, Adventurers, please hold the threat until then," the announcer said. "Johnson will be coming in half an hour."

"Who are those people?" Hope asked Lance as they reunited in front of the inn.

"They're the Kingdom's Guardians. Just like Cain, they have the ability to defend against Alpha Threats," Lance said. "Since this is a Double Alpha, they need at least two."

"But what if another Alpha Threat would come?" Elliot asked. "Wouldn't the other Guardian's domain lay defenseless?"

"That is why both the South and East Guardians are closing in on Johnson's Domain. The Guardians are at the shortest path between their Domain and the open one."

"I remember, Cain was easily defeated by Connor," Ed said. "If that's the power of a Guardian, isn't Connor in the same level as the Guardians?"

"About that," Lance shook his head slowly. "The Cain Connor fought was an impostor. The real Cain is hiding after the Dark Creat's disbandment. If Connor indeed battle the real Cain, I don't even think he stood a chance even after using Ethereum. I don't even think I stand a chance against the real Cain."

"So, they're on a whole other level, basically," Elliot concluded. "I just hope we're still standing until she comes."

Kian had shifted into his dragon form and blasted off towards the Supreme Dragon Emperor. Florian who was at the sea, along with the other Dragon Emperors had followed him. They flew in front of the dragon, waiting for the other to make the next move.

"Are they talking?" Ed asked. "For some reason, I can't understand them but I could understand Hope."

"What?" Hope said as he fell to his knees and trembled. "H-He…"

"Hope, what's happening?" Lance kneeled in front of him, caressing his back comfortingly.

"It'll kill her."

Just as Hope finished, the dragon moved, lowering its head as he watched over the other dragons. A smirk found its way to its lips making the dragons feel the fear.

"M-Mr. Elliot," Hope called out and took gems from his pocket. "I'm sorry I wasn't the one who made these but these are Dragon Stones from a few dragons. Y-You said you needed them, so here."

He handed Elliot the Dragon Stones, and clutched the other boy's hand tightly. "Save her. Please, defeat the dragon."

"Save?" Elliot tilted his head in confusion. "Hope, I don't get you. Who do I save?"

Hope took a deep breath as a tear slipped past his eye, "Save my mother."

~ 5 minutes earlier

"I feel a terrible presence," a little girl said from a top of a large tree. "Adam, do you feel that too?"

A snake a size of a thick thigh and as long as long clothesline coiled around the branch she was sitting on. It hissed and she somehow understood.

"I know. Terrifying," the girl said. "Let's go to the beach city. Do you feel like it's going there? We need to call Lilith."

The snake hissed again, making her nod. "Let's go, Adam. Demonic Morph."

The snake leaped off the branch and morphed into a large bird. "Dark Posssession!" The woman followed the snake, leaping and turning into thin fog that entered the body of the now morphed snake.

They dashed into a small cabin in the middle of a dense forest with tall towering trees. The fog came out of the bird and transformed into the little girl. She waved her hand and transformed the bird into a boy.

"She's not here," the boy said. "Maybe she's already going there?"

The girl pouted. "Should we follow her? Well–"

"The disturbance of the balance among the realms…" Adam suddenly said. "It will attract more Eternal. The thirst for power among races will never end."

"Adam, is that another prophecy?" the girl walked closer and could only jump in shock when Adam suddenly yelled and ran towards her.

"The boy who wields the Black and White shall conquer. He will lead the other Eternals and will seige power over the One Who Betrayed!" Adam yelled. He suddenly hiccuped and the glowing of his eyes died down. "What happened?"

When the girl didn't respond, Adam placed his hands on her shoulders. "Eve, tell me what happened."

"Adam…" Eve trailed off. "You just had another prophecy."

"W-What is it this time?" Adam sighed and shook his head. "I hate this ability."

"It's not your fault, Adam," Eve said comfortingly. "It's never anyone's fault that they're born that way. Our abilities and powers, our identity, are gifts. They are blessings."

"I'm sorry," Adam sniffled. "I'm just really upset because it came as a surprise again."

"Let's just wait for our big sister here, okay?" Eve held her younger brother's hands. "Don't worry. She will return soon."

"But if she went there, then it must be an Alpha Strike," Adam sniffled as they got inside the cottage.

Eve paused, tightening her hold on Adam's hands. When the younger boy looked at her, her eyes were wide as saucers, her pupils dilated as her body trembled.

"I-Impossible," she muttered under her breath and looked at the direction of the incoming terrifying presence. "The Dracon Eternal is here. There are more Eternals but they're not awakened. Adam, let's go after our sister."

"Eve, you're scaring me," Adam cried. "What do you mean, Eve?"

Eve waved her hand, morphing her brother into the giant bird. Her feet became fog as she took a deep breath. "When Eternals clash, the realm they're in will perish."

As the siblings flew towards the beach city, a cloaked figure was dashing through the forest at an incredible speed, leaving glistening afterimges.

"Johnson, I need your help," she said, putting her Contact on the other Guardian.

"I'm coming," Johnson replied. "The others had also made their move. Good thing I was–"

"Stop talking," Lilith said. "Sorry. Just come. I don't think I can handle it for long."

"What? Your Demon Siblings or the Threat?" the man joked, making Lilith stop in her tracks. Her eyes glowed like jewels, her teeth clenching.

"Do. Your. Job," she said, emphasizing each word. "They're not monsters."

"Chill, I was just messing with you," Johnson chuckled. "I can move the sands from my direction in 10 minutes. Be sure to make use of the vortex."

"Okay," Lilith replied, hanging up and continuing on her trail. "F*cking men."

The sky brightened over the large city. The dragon that hovered over it vanished, along with its massive presence.

"The dragon's gone," Ed said. "But something's not right."

Elliot looked up for a second before returning his gaze at the trembling boy in front of him.

"Hope, what do you mean?" Elliot asked, kneeling closer. "Y-Your mother, what exactly do you mean?"

"T-That dragon…" Hope trailed off. "It spoke to me."

"To you?" Lance asked, also leaning closer. "What did it say?"

"He will kill the White Dragon Emperor if I don't come with him," Elliot replied, staring into the void. His eyes was blank, as if he lost all his consciousness.

"Why would he come with you?" Elliot asked. "What does he need?"

"Doesn't matter," Lance said sternly. "We will not let him take you, okay? Come on Hope, breathe properly."

"Blazing Beam of Abbaroth!" Connor fired a flaming beam towards the forest.

"Connor, what the hell?" Elliot stood, not believing what his friend did.

Just when the flames were about to reach the forest, a thin gray vertical dome covered it like a shield.

"You don't understand," Hope cried. "H-He's my–"

"Son," a deep gruff voice came from the forest, walking through the flames with a barrier made of gray aura. "Come to your father, son."
