399 – God M*rder

[What suits you all is only death.]

After the Sun God’s declaration of doom spread across the world.

The people were thrown into great turmoil.

“Uh, wuh? What… what is this…”

“hahahaha, I didn’t mishear this right? This is reality?”

Of course they would react this way.

Even just an unfounded doomsday theory causes some anxiety in people.

And now they directly heard from a god, felt overwhelming pressure like their heads would burst, and received notice they would die in precisely six months.

Although they were still too shocked to get a grip on the situation, once some time passed and they came to terms with reality…

No one could guess what people who accepted their impending death might do.

While everyone was panicking, not knowing what was happening.

From noble mtl dot com

…There were those seriously analyzing the situation with grave expressions.

“F*ck, why is this Sun God bastard attacking us now…? Well it is as he said… damn!”

None other than Catedral’s executive-level villains.

Specifically, those who knew of the ‘existence of gods’ from Egoistic.

Though they knew of the three gods, Sun God, Moon God, and Star God, that existed in this world.

They didn’t think that information would be relevant to daily life.

So when the Sun God that Egoistic mentioned really appeared, they were surprised. It really is true…

Only, they didn’t expect the Sun God to say he would kill them all.

“F*ck, f*ck… How did we get to this point, only to be told to die?”

Come to think of it, Celeste believed in the Sun God.

…What exactly happened here?

As Catedral’s villain leaders agonized over what to do

In their hideout,

Contact came promptly.

Whoosh

“…Hm?”

A sheet of white paper appeared before them in a flash of white light.

And it was obvious who it was from.

“Catedral…”

Catedral.

Not long after the Sun God’s declaration of doom,

Catedral’s emergency summons arrived.

“…Quick work.”

And so.

The villains who received the letters materializing before them

Had relieved expressions as they activated them without hesitation.

Because in chaotic times like these,

Just being with others like themselves brought comfort.

Perhaps some countermeasures could be prepared.

Enveloped in light as the paper tore, teleporting them to Catedral’s grand cathedral,

“…Greetings everyone.”

Was someone with a serious expression behind their mask,

Unlike their usual smiling face.

I was able to meet the S-class villain, Egoistic.

After persuading Celeste.

The first thing I did was persuade her to summon the Catedral.

“…So, Egoistic. What should we do now.”

In the prayer room.

With reddened eyes, still in my arms, she whispered into my neck.

I grasped Celeste’s shoulder and looking into her eyes, said.

“First, we need to gather the members of Catedral. We have to unite and stop the god together.”

“…You’re right.”

“Yes. The reason we followed the Sun God was… because we believed he would save the world. Now that it’s revealed that isn’t the case, we have to save ourselves now.”

At my words.

Perhaps because she cried too much. Celeste, looking slightly listless.

Soon smiled faintly at me, took my hand, and said.

“…Yes, I know. In the first place, I said I would follow you now.”

“Still… I’ll gather everyone, but after, you take care of things, Egoistic.”

“I think… I need to rest a bit first.”

Maybe because too much happened in a short time.

Hearing her say that in a tired voice, I could only nod.

“Okay. Rest and come back. I’ll take care of everything else.”

“…Yeah. Thank you.”

Like that. At some point letting go of my hand, turning her back.

Celeste smiled at me once more as if she would fade away, then left after gathering her clothes.

Afterwards, gathering Catedral’s members went very smoothly.

And so, currently.

I stand in Catedral’s meeting room, looking at the many villains sitting around the large table.

“No, Egoistic. Just what is going on here?”

“The god is trying to kill us all! Ha, what are we supposed to do about this?”

“More than that, was that really the god? You sure it’s not a lie?”

“Didn’t Celeste clearly say she follows the Sun God? Just what the hell is going on here!”

The noisy, chaotic villains.

…If this was following the original work, these guys would have been manipulated by the fallen Celeste and started destroying the world.

But now.

Celeste has changed her mind and gone to rest in her room.

And the villains gathered here all have something to protect now and are filled with more will to live than ever.

So now, I can change it.

The doomed original work.

And so.

I opened my mouth heavily.

“Everyone.”

“Please quiet down.”

Unlike usual, I amplified my voice with magic, speaking in a low tone.

Thanks to that, my voice resonated louder and deeper than normal.

“…”

Before I knew it, they quieted at my words and silently watched me.

I slowly opened my mouth to the villains.

“…Miss Celeste said she cannot consent to the Sun God’s actions, then left to investigate the situation further.”

“Anyway… to address your questions. Yes, that was the Sun God I knew, as far as I can tell.”

At my words, the meeting room grew noisy again.

A Latin villain wearing sunglasses loudly asked me.

“Egoistic. Didn’t you clearly say the Sun God granted power to humans and was a benevolent god? …Well, that’s not the issue. Rather… if the god really intends to destroy us all, do we have a way to oppose him? He’s a god?”

The villain spoke seriously.

His words held undeniable worry.

How could we possibly stop a god-.

The other villains nodding along felt the same.

And I calmly answered them.

“There is a way.”

“What should we… wait, there is?”

“Yes.”

I said that and looked around at everyone as I calmly spoke.

“Think about it, everyone. If the Sun God had the power to immediately destroy us, why would he say he’d destroy us specifically 6 months later instead of right now?

“…Well, that’s true. Or no, no, to give a final chance…”

“Unfortunately not. Because Miss Celeste told me something.”

I shared that crucial clue with everyone.

“She said the Sun God told her to destroy the world before he arrived. Although Miss Celeste refused… what do you think this means?”

“…Don’t tell me.”

“Yes, you’re right. Looking at all the evidence, it seems the Sun God currently lacks the power to destroy us immediately for some reason. The most likely conjecture would probably be the ancient battle of the three gods recorded in the texts.”

“In any case, one clear thing is the Sun God seems weaker than in the past now. And seems to have lost his former wisdom as well.”

“…It could be that gods are simply. Merely existences a bit stronger, nothing that amazing.”

I said that, then drank some water.

I had to speak of something important now.

And so. I told the villains, who were even watching me drink intently, one fact.

“Additionally, I know of one way we can stop the god.”

“W-what is it?!”

They urgently ask.

I spread my hands and displayed a hologram of the Milky Way on the table, saying.

“Didn’t I tell you? There are other gods in this world aside from the Sun God.”

“Especially the powers of the Star God are known to be specialized against the Sun God’s powers. And Catedral’s leadership already knows who has that power.”

“But of course, the god won’t just let us. Like he approached Celeste, he’ll try to hinder us in various ways. However, if we join forces, what can’t we stop?”

“…So, before that. There’s something I want to tell you all.”

Somehow… was it because a shred of hope we could still live arose from despair?

I calmly told the villains brimming with strange passion as they watched me.

“Yes. It seems you all know my plan now.”

“I believe if we and all the world’s ability users join forces… we can protect our world from that so-called god.”

“And so. I dare to say this. All of you, will you give up everything we’ve built so far like this?”

“When Catedral ruling the world was right before our eyes, will you let that monster calling himself a god steal everything just like this?”

“Will you just sit and wait for meaningless deaths worse than dogs?”

I could feel the villains’ passion gradually intensifying as I continued.

We can’t just die like this. Yeah. If we go down, let’s at least go down fighting.

That is the villain way.

And so as the villains’ emotions rose.

And when it seemed they had peaked.

From noble mtl dot com

“And so, I dare to say this representing Catedral.”

I.

Clenching my fist, looking at everyone.

In a cold voice, declared to all.

“Together, we will…”

“Kill the god.”

And that became.

Catedral’s new declaration of intent.
