I Became the First Prince

Chapter 3 - Prince of Mangani (2)

Prince of Mangani (2)

An unexpected visitor came to start working on the mana heart ductility.

“Majesty! His Majesty has come! Hurry up and arrange your garments, and prepare for his Majesty.”

“No, why is the man suddenly not looking even when he is dying?”

The maid who helped the general manager looked at me with her face flushed.

“Me, Your Majesty. The court knights have reached the point. By all means…”

I belatedly recalled my current situation and closed my mouth.

Unfortunately, her advice was too late.

“He said he was raised from the dead, and but his temper remains.”

One of the bright knights she spoke of had already heard me.

“You must go. His Majesty is not expecting you anyway.”

Nogisa dismissed the maid and looked at me, displeased.

“Why do you pretend to not know?”

It seems that he was the teacher of a man who was overwhelmed. I didn’t even know what Nogisa and Mangani taught each other. I couldn’t pretend to know even if I wanted to.

So, my eyes were flickering, but Nogisa’s expression changed.

“Your Majesty?”

She was staring at me to see if I was feeling strange. I felt her observing me.

“Your memories could be messed up, and you may not remember who you are…”

After waking up, I threw in the excuse of memory loss.

“Surely…?”

Nogi asked for a bit of rice cake.

“Your Majesty came!”

However, before Nogisa could eat the rice cake, the King arrived.

Hoo.

I admired the King as I watched him. He was a brilliant middle-aged man, standing amongst his attendants.

Over time, the lion’s blood became murky and became the blood of a dog.

The King seemed to have no shortage of a magnificent appearance and dignity required to lead a nation.

“You look much better than I heard.”

The King’s words were heavy with affectionate as they were the first words spoken to his son after he almost died.

“You didn’t even say hello when you saw your father. I thought that you were going to die. People change so much.”

The King said, clicking his tongue. Nogisa intervened.

“He has lost his memory.”

The King looked at me for confirmation.  I nodded.

“Oh My God! How shocking!”

“Why did you not tell his Majesty such important facts?”

“Call the word right away to watch your body!”

Ui-Yu arrived while the attendants were shaking their heads.

“I cannot find any abnormality in the Majesty’s head.”

However, there may be temporary effects due to mental shock.

“A memory loss…”

The King stared at me. It was as though he felt that these cold eyes weren’t of his poor son’s, who almost died and lost his memory.

Maybe he noticed.

I was nervous. At that moment, the King seemed to scream, ‘who the hell are you, and where is my son?’.

But the King didn’t doubt me.

He was just angry.

“Sometimes, you make the wrong choice. You might even behave in an extreme manner. There is something to learn later, and as long as you do not make the same mistake again, you will be in the learning process. But you seem to have forgotten all that.”

The voice of the King suddenly rose in anger.

“Since it all happened, you haven’t taken a single step forward from your last mistake.”

No matter how deep his words were, they sounded like a rant rather than a reproach.

“Your Majesty, calm down.”

Though the King quieted, his eyes remained cold.

At first, I noticed that I was despised by the world, so I didn’t expect to be treated appropriately. However, as it turned out, they were hospitable.

Seeing the constant contempt from those who looked at me, I realized that it would not be as easy as I thought to live in the prince’s body.

The King stared at me and left the room. My six-month probation before leaving was a bonus.

“Hoo.”

I sighed. As I turned my head, Nogisa was staring at me.

A transparent gaze pierced through me.

Nogisa stared at me like that and disappeared.

“He did what he did.”

I asked myself why she was frustrated, but there was no answer.

After the King left, the Queen came.

“I heard of your condition on the way. Yes, how confusing it is.”

She scared me as she appeared in tears.

“Your memories will be back soon. No, it would be a serious issue if you remember nothing of the past.”

She comforted me in a warm tone. Unlike the King, there was no sign of anxiety. But I was very uncomfortable with her gentle attitude.

I was the weapon that killed her son and the one who robbed his body.

Besides, I was too old to be pampered like this.

So I shut my mouth and listened to her.

“Don’t come again.”

The sun had already set when the long encounter with the Queen ended.

Only then could I start working on mana development.

“Well, there’s all this fat!”

I ran into a challenge from the start.

Until I accepted my first mana, I had no choice but to constitution. However, the inferior qualities of this body caught my ankle.

It sucked and scattered. No matter how hard I tried, my body could not accept mana.

His body was, as far as mana was concerned, a non-owned believer.

“I wish I had my body.”

Losing my original body was regrettable.  I had been accumulating mana for hundreds of years; I could ignore the aesthesia and beat it. Unfortunately, my body was confiscated by the King.

How sad I was to hear that from the maid.

I couldn’t help it. There was no other way but to try. I’ve been struggling all day with mana that doesn’t seem to get caught.

But even then, I couldn’t yield any result. It was of lousy quality.

“Your Majesty, the Queen, has sent special food to replenish your majesty’s power.”

The ‘Boyangsik’ sent by the Queen was like rain to land in drought.

There was a surprising amount of mana in the boyangsik. As it is refined, pure mana without any contaminations.

“I will put it in your mouth. It will be very beneficial to your body…”

The maid said, embarrassed, as I stared at the medicine. She was worried that I would not take medicine.

Of course, I had no intention of doing so.

“Your Majesty?”

I took the plate from her hand and ate it every last bit.

“Now go.”

I gestured the maid out and sat down on the bed immediately. I felt mana. I did not hesitate to pull mana into one place.

On the other side of the heart, on the right chest.

Again, mana refused to rest on my body. However, it was not a difficult task for me now to forcibly hold the mana that had already entered the body.

Mana settled in the body. There is still not enough, and even that one would be scattered after a day, but mana was mana anyway.

I called the maid again.

“Is there any more?”

The maid opened her eyes wide.

* * *

I ate the medicine sent by the Queen many times. Thanks to that, I was finally able to collect enough mana to create a new heart.

“Don’t come in unless I call you. Don’t let other people in.”

I instructed the maid, and immediately afterward, started cultivating a Mana Heart.

It’s been done so many times. Mana Heart was something I could make with my eyes closed. Or so I thought.

“Agh!”

Suddenly, my mind became confused by sudden pain.

Mana, which settled at the heart of the chest, faltered. And whenever mana jumped, I felt terrible pain.

I was embarrassed. This was the first time.

“Ah!”

The answer was nearby.

[Pain! I think it’s on fire!]

[I think your chest is going to burst!]

In my head, the screams of the former owners came to mind. Everyone who forced me to make mana hearts.

I realized. This had initially been painful.

However, I overlooked this because I was a sword with no blood, tears, or pain at the time. And I paid the price for that indifference now.

“Stop it.”

I kept concentrating. I couldn’t let go of my mind like the ex-owners. They had someone to control mana, but now I am alone.

If I lost my mind, mana would reflux.

So I desperately clung to Mana Hart’s ductility, and finally succeeded in fixing the raving mana.

I was successful in cultivating mana hearts.

“I did it! ”

Despite making mana hearts countless times before, this made me cheer. This was made for myself, not for others, that small difference made me feel a different level of achievement.

At that time, a voice like a hallucination came to my mind.

『Mana Heart has been created.』

The voice revealed the value of the step taken. Satisfaction doubled.

“Uh?”

However, my satisfaction was short-lived, and I was completely engulfed.

Because.

“It’s a status message.”

It perfectly matched the status messages I sent to my masters when I was a sword.

『Restore the connection with the root source.』

“What? What?…”

The message came out without even knowing the situation.

“The connection has been restored. However, the connection is not good.”

“The connection is very unstable.”

『Most powers cannot be used.』

『Only some powers can be used.』
