Human King

Chapter 87: Rescue (3)

As the battle ended with the Elder, the Warmen soon set their sights on the prey that has escaped.

Although they were tired and injured from the battle with the Elder, they didn't dare slack off now that they now knew the identity of the white goblin.

Even if the poison was powerful enough to kill him, they wanted to see for their own eyes that he was dead.

That the Goblin King was dead.

For that was their mission ever since they entered the forest and started gathering the hunting dogs.

That was why as soon as they got out of their stupor from repeating what the Elder said with his last breath, they immediately set out for the forest.

And now, as they ran, Gaize talked to Fhrama, the one who was using the short sword.

"Fhrama, is there a chance that he could survive the poison?"

Gaize was incredibly curious about this. After all, if the poison worked, they would just have to retreat and report their victory.

However, for some reason, all of them doubted it. Even the one who injected the poison was doubtful that it would succeed.

That was also the reason why they wanted to see for themselves.

"I don't know. That goblin is abnormal...being able to have that kind of underling is abnormal."

The reason for their doubts was the Elder who they just killed.

For the king.

Even though they ran as fast as possible, they could not escape the Elder's certainty of his king being alive.

Even though he personally checked his condition, the Elder was serious and sincerely believed that his sacrifice was not in vain.

And that seriousness of the Elder affected the Warmen's confidence in the poison.

It was then.

As they continued running, the one who used the Heaven's Sword before spoke up for all to hear.

He couldn't participate much in battles due to his weakened state, but he could still run as fast as his comrades.

"I see them! The ones who ran before we started fighting with that goblin!"

He pointed towards the front as he avoided the trees. His comrades soon followed that finger, and then, they saw it too.

The backs of their prey.

"We don't need to take care of them! Pass them and go kill that white goblin!" Gaize shouted as he jumped towards the branch of the trees.

Shooo.

Shoo!

The three of them soon followed Gaize as they jumped from tree to tree.

They didn't need to engage with the goblins that don't have the white goblin with them.

After all, that would only be a waste of time.

What's more, if they killed the goblins in front of them and let the white goblin escape, this would make their chasing entirely pointless.

"Go!" Gaize shouted as he jumped to the right side of the trees.

One of them followed him, and the other two jumped to the left side.

That was the best way to avoid the goblins in front and still be able to follow their tracks.

It was a battle against time.

****

The three goblins composed of Ika, Dal, and Una were running to chase the backs of the two goblins, Didi and Hig.

They didn't turn to look back even though they knew the battle ended by now.

After all, their job was only one thing: to protect the king.

However, they couldn't continue running anymore as they felt the presence that was trying to hide.

No...they felt the trees that were being shaken by something unknown.

It's just that the goblins could easily tell who was that something unknown.

It was the Warmen who fought with the Elder.

That was why Una spoke while keeping in mind the goblins in front.

"Ika. You go ahead. Dal, you go to the right, and I'll take the left side."

His voice sounded serious and grim, and this made the other two goblins nod their heads.

After all, this situation was serious. Even though the Elder did a great job, the safety of the king is still not assured.

If the Warmen were to somehow catch up with Didi and Hig, the king's life would end right then and there.

That was why he decided that they would be better off with someone delaying the Warmen somehow.

Well, he wasn't really sure about how they could delay the Warmen, seeing that they were able to injure their king like that.

After all, Dawn was literally the strongest goblin in his village.

It was then.

As the three goblins looked at each other while passing the trees, they soon parted as they turned towards their planned destination.

Ika just looked at the two goblins and continued running towards where the king was.

She wanted to go there faster than the enemies could. She knows that the enemy could kill her in a snap, but that wasn't enough to deter her determination to protect her king.

In fact, that served as the oil to her fire as she continued running.

Boom!

It was then.

After a few seconds of parting with her comrades, she soon heard a loud sound of something falling to the ground and an explosion occurring at the same time.

"They're fighting..." Ika murmured as she continued running.

How long will they last? Will I be able to catch up with Didi and Hig? Will we...be able to survive this?

All sorts of questions flowed out of Ika's mind as she felt the despair and hopelessness of the situation.

After all, she can't find an answer to the terrible question called the Warmen.

However, that doesn't mean that she'll, or her allies would give up.

The king's safety was riding on how they would perform in the battle against the Warmen.

"Right, the king must stay safe!" Ika shouted as she passed another tree.

Her eyes displayed her fiery determination to do her job flawlessly.

Boom!

Another explosion rang out, but she didn't mind it as she continued running.

That was how determined she was.

However, when she ran for another minute or so, her eyes shook violently as she looked over the trees.

A flashy and deadly smile spread over her mouth as she shouted.

"Yes!!"

****

Splash.

A river? Or is it something else?

No...it was just blood that has been stacked one after another as it flowed out of a goblin's body.

And the two people overlooking that was Gaize and the one who went with him, Fhrama.

The goblin lying on the ground with his chest pierced with a short sword, Dal. He couldn't be a match for the two Warmen as he quickly lost.

And as he looked at the two Warmen who was about to leave, he spoke with a smile.

"Y-you guys..."

Cough!

Blood flowed out of his mouth as he struggled to speak, but he still continued as he wanted to make them mad a little bit, and of course, waste their time.

"W-won't be able to...kill the king."

He then raised his body up while having that kind of wound. It was quite an amazing sight.

Dal brought his right hand up slowly to touch his wound as he continued speaking.

"Ha-haha-ha. Bastards that don't know...the king's real army!"

It was then.

As Gaize continued listening to Dal's bullshit, he widened his eyes when Dal mentioned 'the king's real army.'

Although he knew that it was only the last words of a dying monster, he couldn't ignore it.

His instincts worked incredibly fast, and his thoughts also ended up in the same answer.

That was why he shouted while running towards the deeper part of the forest.

"Let's go! Fhrama!!"

Fhrama noticed the urgent look on Gaize as he took ran up to follow Gaize.

****

As the duo of Gaize and Fhrama continue running, they soon met up with their other two comrades that went to the left side.

However, each of them didn't pay mind to each other as they just continued running.

Why?

It was obvious why Gaize and Fhrama were running like crazy dogs. However, the other two aren't so obvious.

It was then.

The man who used the Heaven's Sword before shook up a little bit as he focused his eyes.

"Gaize! This is bad...I feel it!"

His voice was shaking, and this caused the two men to look his way.

"I feel a strong monster in front!"

As soon as the man finished saying that, they soon saw the two goblins that were escorting and protecting Dawn.

Of course, they also saw Dawn.

They stopped after seeing that the two goblins weren't running, and Dawn was in the ground.

No...should they say that he was being cured right now?

"Grand Heal." A voice resounded out as some kind of light entered Dawn's body.

The light didn't end there, and it covered Dawn.

The light came from a gray hand, and when the Warmen took a look at the owner of the hand, they soon knew that it was a goblin.

However...

"T-the Myth?! What the fuck is the Myth doing here?!" Gaize shouted as he realized the situation.

All of the Warmen had shocked evident on their faces and their eyes almost popping out of their eye sockets.

The one he called the Myth, Moris, looked at the Warmen with veins bulging around his eyes.

"A measly human did this?"

Didi answered readily as he already talked with Moris before when they first met.

"That's right. We found the king...lying on the ground, swimming in his pool of blood."

His hoarse voice expressed his hot anger towards the enemy as he faced them.

Didi bit his lips before speaking.

"It's those bastards!!"

Sorrow and anger...It was clear that Didi and Hig wanted the Warmen to die!
