Human King

Chapter 82: Defeat (4)

The goblins that were sent out to Dawn's side were currently running throughout the forest.

Well, they haven't really stopped ever since they left.

After all, from what they can see, the tracks left behind by Dawn were so long that they hadn't even reached half of it.

That was how fast Dawn was right now.

Anyway, the goblins were clustered together because of what the Elder said earlier.

They were on high alert as they ran as they trusted the Elder's words.

Of course, even though they were on high alert, they still ran at full speed, for their destination is where the king was.

Just thinking of the possible dangers that the king would meet just because he didn't have his goblins made them shiver.

Even though they knew Dawn was strong, there were always events where things went horribly wrong.

That was why they didn't dare to be so complacent when they were in the forest where things would always go wrong.

Anyway, as the group continued running, the Elder spoke once more in a grim tone.

"It's gone..." The Elder murmured as he felt the gaze stinging on him walk away.

"Elder, are you sure about it? I can't feel anything." Dal said as he turned his head towards the Elder.

Ever since they left, the blessed goblins around the Elder couldn't feel anything about being watched at all.

If the Elder weren't the Elder, they would have killed him already for being rude and presumptuous.

After all, they were blessed goblins that have received the power given by the Blessings of the Battlefield.

A normal goblin is talking about being watched while the blessed goblins haven't felt anything...It was disgustingly rude.

"I am. But it is definitely weird that you guys aren't feeling it." The Elder said as he looked right in front.

"Anyway, just go on straight for now. I have a bad feeling about this..."

The wind carried his voice to the goblins' ears as they ran faster. His worried voice clearly expressed his feelings.

The Elder's crumbled and distorted face could be seen as he worried about Dawn's safety...

With Dawn's goblins, which were hunting throughout the forest in the south, Karkas stayed behind to lead the goblins that were left behind.

There were also other blessed goblins here, such as Garistoka, Razta, Wos, Mos, and Yamu.

However, those goblins are still considered outsiders. After all, they just joined recently.

There's no way there would be a deep trust between Dawn's closest goblins and them.

"Why am I..." Karkas muttered as he looked at the goblins.

Due to his worrying nature for the king, who was now missing, Karkas gathered all goblins that he could gather in a short amount of time.

In front of him stood gallant warriors of his king's village and subordinates.

They didn't know why they suddenly stopped hunting, but they knew that something was happening.

Well, they were called in a hurry after all.

The only goblins that are not here are those who are in the lead.

It was then.

As Karkas deliberated whether his decision was right or wrong, he suddenly felt a gaze on him.

'Hmmm?' Karkas turned his head to the right where Wos and Mos were standing.

However, those goblins weren't particularly looking at him.

He then turned his head towards the left, where goblins that have been blessed recently were standing.

However, no one was looking at him so strongly that he could feel a stinging gaze.

'What is this?' Karkas thought as he turned his head left and right.

No matter how much he looked, no one was looking at him.

Yet, why could he feel a pair of eyes looking at him so strongly?

However, it's not like Karkas would change his actions so suddenly because there was someone watching him.

That was why instead of putting his time into thinking about it and searching for the one looking at him, he just thought about what he should do now.

'Should I?'

Should I go to where the king went too? Or should I continue the hunt?

These two questions were going in and out like the devil's whispers in his mind.

He was having a hard time, but he soon came to a conclusion when he realized that he already made his mind.

After all, why would he call the hunting goblins here if it were not for one reason?

That was why Karkas spoke; his red eyes were shining like a gem.

His voice, powered by his feelings, expressed his thoughts to the goblins near him.

"We will go to where the king went! To the west!!"

And then...

"Goaaaahhh!!!!"

A loud, thumping cry resounded out as the goblins answered Karkas' words.

Ba-dum Ba-dum!

They pounded their chests and trampled the land where they were standing, and their intensity made the air hot.

And so, the goblins numbering 800 due to the other units couldn't make it back, soon set out for the west where Dawn was missing.

Their commander was Karkas, the Goblin Strategist.

****

Swosshhh!

With his head ducked in to dodge the blade coming in from behind, Dawn kicked off the ground to run away once more.

"They already caught up!" Dawn said as if he were trying to curse his opponents to death.

After all, his escape didn't even last for more than 10 minutes as they caught up to him immediately.

What was worse was that...

"This is fun!! Chasing a goblin who could run away from us like this!"

One of the four men chasing Dawn said as he brandished the short sword in his grasp.

Its blade was shining ominously as it reflected his wicked smiling plastered on his face.

"Fireball!"

The white blade turned into a crimson red right after the man chanted some mana into his blade.

The crimson red color turned into a real fireball as it formed into the blade's tip. The white blade could be seen again as the fireball grew in size.

Whooo.

"Eat this!" The man shouted as he pushed the fireball away with his short sword while making large movements.

This all happened in the blink of an eye, and the fireball soon went for Dawn, who was running.

His white body, faced with the fireball, looked truly helpless as he continued running.

However...

Shunngg!

A light covered Dawn's hand as he whipped his left arm towards the fire.

He didn't even look to see what would happen with his hand as he just focused on running away.

And when he felt a little bit hot on his arm, he shouted.

"Stupid bastards!"

The Aura on his hand soon went out to the fireball going after him and flicked it away to the forest.

Right, he flicked the fireball away to the forest.

Swooshhh.

And because of that...

"Hahaha! Fucker set the forest on fire!!!" The man who set out the Fireball said as he jumped from tree to tree.

Whether the forest was burning or not didn't really matter to them, they would just run after Dawn, who was running.

It's not like the fire would catch up to them with their speed.

And when the man looked at Dawn, he soon saw his comrade taking a swing with his sword.

It was Gaize, who was feeling small and weak in front of Dawn when he used the Great Force body earlier.

"Son of a bitch!!!" Gaize shouted as he let out Sword Light once again while swinging his sword down as if to cut the sky apart.

Swooshh!

The Sword Light traveled, and it reached its destination soon enough as it struck the trees near Dawn.

Of course, they did this while running and jumping to avoid the obstacles that would fall from their attacks.

Boom!

The trees fell down as if they were nothing; their trunks and branches were split into two as they made a mess in the ground.

"You were able to dodge it, huh?!! How about another one!!"

Gaize shouted as he prepared another Sword Light. Although its mana expenditure was huge, Gaize could prepare a number of those as he had a huge amount of mana.

And, Dawn, who was running, had a grim look on his face.

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" He cursed as he kept running for his life.

If he slowed down even a little bit, he would die.

If he made a mistake in landing his foot, he would die.

If they caught up to him, Dawn would die.

That was how bad the situation is, and every second that passes, his pursuers were getting closer to him.

It was truly a pinch situation for Dawn, who didn't know any running before.

No...He knew how to run, but that was to chase after his enemies. He didn't expect that he would run from his enemies.

That was why Dawn has his face turned into a frown, for the first time since he met them.

His face was scary as he bit his lips with his sharp teeth. Blood flowed smoothly through his rough skin.

"Fuck..." A weak voice escaped his mouth as he imagined himself being caught.

After all, the four men chasing him were at his back, aiming with their weapons to strike at Dawn!

As they brought their weapons down, Gaize shouted.

"This game's over!!"
