Harry Potter and the Attack of the Squibs

Chapter 7 I’m the God of Cooking, what do I do for you?

Eventually, the boy gave up.

An owl like Pallas who can sneak out of the Owl Room in Hogwarts on his own and find an owl in the Slytherin dormitory is indeed very intimidating.

Especially when it comes to four children who are only eleven years old.

Lu Ke slept soundly that night and got up very early.

After washing up and walking out of the Slytherin lounge, Lu Ke looked up at the sky. It was still the darkest time in the early morning, and there wasn't even a single star in the sky.

It was about five o'clock in the morning, and Lu Ke went straight to the kitchen.

It is said that the kitchen of Hogwarts is located next to Hufflepuff's dormitory, but Lu Ke does not know where Hufflepuff's dormitory is.

But he had Pallas.

The owl stood on Lu Ke's shoulder and pointed the direction for Lu Ke.

Pallas was a very different owl, as Lu Ke understood soon after buying him.

The reason why Pallas is willing to stay with Lu Ke is because Lu Ke can cook.

He was able to earn so much money from his part-time job at the Leaky Cauldron, mainly because he took on the job of chef.

After being left in the Owl House last night and not being able to eat what Lu Ke had cooked, Pallas was already on the verge of breaking out. Its vision and keen hearing that could see through the night allowed Pallas to locate the kitchen. Now only let Lu Ke rushed over to cook.

Lu Ke walked through the Hogwarts campus in the dark and came to a downward staircase.

Go down the stairs and go forward along the passage. On the right side, there is a row of wooden barrels stacked horizontally against the wall like a wine cellar.

Continuing forward, the passage ends in a dead end.

There is only an oil painting hanging on the wall.

"It's quite pretty..."

The content of the painting is fruits on a silver plate. Although the oil painting looks a bit old, the fruits on it still look delicious.

Lu Ke turned around and looked at Pallas on his shoulder: "This is a dead end."

Then Pallas pounced.

It flapped its wings in front of the oil painting, then painted a green pear and laughed softly.

Lu Ke couldn't help but laugh.

That laugh was so contagious and it was all really funny.

In the end, the pear turned into a green doorknob. After Lu Ke pulled it open, a huge space appeared in front of him.

The air smelled of fire and food.

"Hello sir, how can I help you?"

A house elf suddenly appeared in front of Lu Ke.

This is the Hogwarts kitchen.

"I came here to make something to eat."

The gathered house elves looked at each other in confusion.

No Hogwarts student had ever made such a request to them, and someone had sneaked into the kitchen, but only to steal food.

Lu Ke looked at the elves in front of him, and then nodded: "As a reward, I can teach you new dishes."

The house elves remained silent.

This is obviously not a question of no reward.

The house elves at Hogwarts have always helped the school's students, but they've never really been asked to do so.

But in the end, the elves nodded.

Partly because house elves shouldn't turn away Hogwarts students, and partly because they were curious about what Lu Ke would do.

In order to satisfy Pallas, Lu Ke prepared to cook twice-cooked pork.

Don't ask why an owl would like this dish. It's just that Lu Ke just made it to satisfy his own cravings. It would be fine if half of it was taken away by the boss. The remaining half was occupied by Pallas, and there was no room for reasoning.

"I can also teach you if you are willing to learn."

The house elves nodded without hesitation.

For them, serving Hogwarts is life itself, and no one can refuse it if it makes life richer.

"First of all, the ingredients, a very important one is black bean sauce."

This special soybean fermentation product is something that Lu Ke has confirmed many times that it does not exist in Hogwarts or the entire wizarding world.

"Please describe it."

Although the house elves didn't bring out the tempeh, they didn't seem to care.

Lu Ke thought for a while: "Dark color, made from soybeans fermented with salt, with less water and clear particles."

The house elf nodded and waved his finger.

A wooden barrel appeared out of thin air with soybeans in it.

Then the house elf waved his finger again.

As if a long time had passed in an instant, the water in the barrel evaporated and the soybeans fermented and changed color.

The last thing that appeared in front of Lu Ke was a bucket of black beans.

Lu Ke lowered his head, picked up one, smelled it, and then tasted it.

"Very good, thank you."

The magic house elf showed a surprised look: "Thank you."

"Then garlic sprouts, hip meat, and bean paste."

Lu Ke explained to the house elf what hip meat was, and then they used magic to give Lu Ke everything he wanted in an instant.

So Lu Ke started to take action.

"Any food requires the combination of heat, knife skills, seasoning, and ingredient selection to taste delicious."

“The most important thing is fresh ingredients, especially meat.”

Lu Ke said and did it.

"Knife skills don't have to be very good, but the ingredients must be divided into uniform shapes so that they can be heated evenly."

"Mastering the heat is both a technique and an art. You need to know the timing and coordinate with the ingredients."

"Seasoning must be restrained and precise. It's not that the more delicious the better, it must cooperate with each other to highlight the taste of the ingredients themselves."

Finally, after stir-frying the garlic sprouts for a few times, Lu Ke poured out the fragrant meat slices from the pot.

Amid the exclamations of house elves around him, Pallas grabbed the plate without hesitation and ate heartily.

Although he didn't understand why an owl from the magical world would like Sichuan food, Lu Ke had already passed the stage of surprise.

The smell of fat mixed with meat and spices spread throughout the kitchen under the influence of the fire, and all the house elves came over.

"Sir...how did you do it?"

Lu Ke looked at the timid house elves in front of him and smiled: "Want to learn? I'll teach you."

"But it might take more time."

Lu Ke himself wanted to have a light breakfast.

So he chose clear noodle soup and cold cucumber.

The house elves began to help, and soon the whole kitchen was busy.

At dawn, Lu Ke and Pallas walked out of the kitchen together.

The house elves fully accepted Lu Ke's cooking theory, and magic made it easier for them to do things that Lu Ke couldn't do.

Lu Ke promised them to come to the kitchen every morning and teach them how to cook.

But that’s enough for today.

After breakfast, Lu Ke continued to look for places on the Hogwarts campus that might be useful.
