Harry Potter and the Attack of the Squibs

Chapter 38: Please the Boss’s Relatives

This classic line is simply Lockhart's soul monologue. He will never care what lies are mixed in it. What is important is that the people who hear it will regard it as the truth.

Gilderoy Lockhart, a man who lived for others.

Then Lockhart glanced at Lu Ke and Johanna beside him.

At this time, Lockhart's expression was still that perfect smile, but Lu Ke saw a subtle difference in it.

Lu Ke began to wonder what Lockhart was going to do.

Then Lockhart took out a thick stack of test papers.

"I see, each of you has a set of my books, which is good, but I think we can test it before we start. Don't worry, there are no problems in it, just to make sure you have previewed it in advance."

Then Lockhart walked up to Lu Ke seemingly casually and placed the test paper on his desk.

"Help me post it."

Lu Ke nodded and stood up, walking towards the classroom behind him.

Behind him, Lockhart sat in Lu Ke's seat.

He looked at Johanna with a smile on his face.

"Are you Johanna Shafik?"

Johanna looked at Professor Lockhart with a smile, but did not answer the question.

Lockhart had a perfect smile on his face: "Has your uncle, Mr. William, ever mentioned to you that I am the ace of the publishing house and the one who makes him make a lot of money?"

Johanna shook her head.

Lockhart smiled: "I have always told Mr. William not to mention me too much in front of others. After all, that will make too many people start to admire me. But I think you are different, aren't you, Johanna?"

"Can I teach you Johanna?"

Johanna shook her head again.

This time, the smile disappeared from her face.

But Lockhart was not the kind of person to give up because of this small setback.

He picked up Lu Ke's textbook on the table: "Lu Ke is also a staff member of the publishing house. Has he ever mentioned me to you?"

"I helped him defeat many troublesome opponents..."

Lockhart was about to go into detail about how great he was, but then Lu Ke suddenly came back and tapped him on the shoulder.

Lockhart turned around: "You should take the test paper..."

Then Lockhart saw Lu Ke's free hand.

In the third-grade Defense Against the Dark Arts class, Slytherin and Gryffindor took the class together. Lu Ke divided all the test papers evenly, distributed one in front of each row of desks, and then passed it back.

In this way, he handed out all the test papers in one-tenth of the time he originally needed.

This was obviously a surprise to Lockhart, and completely threw his plans into disarray.

Lu Ke looked at Lockhart: "I want to sit in class, Professor."

Lockhart hesitated, barely able to keep the smile on his face.

But he still insisted on smiling at Johanna, and then stood up.

Lockhart was obviously a little unhappy when he returned to the podium, but no one cared.

Johanna whispered: "You really shouldn't have done this. I was already prepared to make him look embarrassed."

Lu Ke sighed helplessly: "It's best not. Where do you want Dumbledore to find a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at this time?"

Johanna smiled: "Or are you jealous, Lu Ke? Yes, no one can resist my charm. After entering Hogwarts, I received hundreds of love letters every week."

Lu Ke glanced at Johanna helplessly.

At this moment, Lockhart spoke.

"I'll give you thirty minutes, start now."

Lu Ke and Johanna were indifferent.

They didn't want to fill in any test papers at all, even though Lu Ke had read all the books carefully.

Of course, the girls sitting in the classroom didn't think so.

Johanna looked at Lu Ke and shook her head: "You'd better arrange an ending for Lockhart that's worthy of him, otherwise I won't be able to help but let him turn into what I hate the most."

Lu Ke nodded helplessly: "He will personally admit that everything he has obtained so far was cheated. Is this enough?"

Johanna nodded: "You are so vicious... Let a person who has devoted his whole life to being worshiped by others be despised by everyone. This is simply the cruelest punishment in the world. It is really unimaginably vicious, Lu Ke."

Although she said this, Johanna's face was filled with a gloating smile.

Lu Ke could only shake his head helplessly, then lowered his head and wrote his name on the test paper.

Johanna smiled and also wrote her name: "What is Gilderoy Lockhart's favorite color? Probably the red on the clown's nose."

Lu Ke put down the ordinary quill in his hand in silence.

"Don't underestimate the clown."

Johanna looked at Lu Ke blankly, not understanding what he was talking about.

Half an hour passed quickly. Lockhart collected all the test papers and began to review them.

"Tsk tsk..."

Lockhart looked much more pleasing to the eye when he didn't have a smile on his face, but no matter what expression he wanted to put on, it felt very deliberate.

"Generally speaking, you students have not done a good job in preparing for the exam. This is not a good habit..."

"ah!"

Just when Lockhart was mid-sentence, he took out a piece of paper from the test paper with a look of surprise on his face.

"Someone actually remembers that my secret ambition is to rid the world of all evil and sell my shampoo! Let me see..."

"Ms. Johanna Shafik! One hundred points!"

"Ten points for Slytherin! You should learn what good study habits are."

Johanna had a disgusted expression on her face.

She looked at Lockhart, who was smiling perfectly at her on the podium, and asked Lu Ke in a low voice: "Can your plan start now?"

Lu Ke shook his head helplessly: "Sorry, no."

Johanna nodded: "Then I will do it myself."

Lu Ke sighed: "No, for the sake of how pitiful Dumbledore is."

Johanna nodded: "You'd better hurry up."

Lockhart then took out a cage covered with black cloth.

"Okay, now let's go to class officially. I'm going to let you fight against something very dangerous, an unprecedented threat, but you can rest assured that as long as I'm here, you won't be hurt."

"But get ready now, this is very, very scary stuff."

As if he was really going to show off a fire dragon, Lockhart lifted the black cloth and let all the students see what was inside the cage.

"Freshly caught Cornish elf..."

Lockhart's tone sounded like he was introducing a fire dragon.

"Elf?"

I remembered the whispers in the classroom, which were obviously mixed with smiles that could hardly be suppressed.
