Chapter 363: Might of the Cryoflame Spear

He thrust his left arm out, accompanied by dragons, at one of the beastmen with Dragon Capturing Hand. The dragon aura dragged the beastman towards him, and he smashed it with his spear like hitting a baseball, knocking it into its comrade.

The two beastmen crashed into one another. When they were still in a daze, Drako Yau flipped his spear around to point his spear’s blue dragon and stabbed at them—Frozen Strike! A bold beam shot out from the spear, turning the beastmen into two blocks of ice.

Drako Yau’s attacks were as smooth as a flowing river. Once he began his assault, he wouldn’t stop until his enemies died. He followed through with the stab by thrusting it into the ground, bending the weirdly flexible spear into a semi-arc. The spear regained its straightness the next moment and rocketed him into the air. It was his trademark evasive move, pole-jumping!

Drako Yau descended from above like a meteor as flames took over his spear—Flameblast! A fire blast exploded from the ground, giving the beastmen a taste of chilled grilling.

Once he was in range, the two beastmen were just a single practising target. His combo went on and on, starting with Snowy Doorstep, a basic attack, Enhanced Fiery Dance, Soaring Flames which triggered Grilled Erudite’s passive explosion effect, then Blizzard which triggered Icefrost. The poor beastmen were alternately devoured by ice and fire. At last, he thumped his spear lightly onto the ground—Icy Bloom.

The two beastmen vanished in a flash of whiteness. The smooth combo left everyone stupefied. Danting and Windstrider had just finished off their target when Drako Yau defeated two beastmen, on his own no less, in the same period.

Drako Yau had always spent a lot of time exploring newly acquired skills and items to integrate them into his combat style. Cryoflame Spear, forged by Master Bak, was the first item he knew of that wasn’t registered by the system. Even the legendary weapons Hagrid gave out had system descriptions and ratings.

After investigating his spear for a good long while, he finally had a general grasp of its properties. Firstly, it was practically indestructible, contrary to its fragile appearance. He had tried every method he could think of, yet none had left even a scratch on it, let alone destroy it.

Secondly, the spear was sensitive to his cultivation style. As Master Bak had mentioned, most of his creations developed elements that matched their owners’ styles. It was the first weapon Master Bak had forged in ages, and its materials, namely the Cryoflame Jade and Yeung Tin Hun’s embryonic weapon, already had a close bond with Drako Yau.

All those factors combined, Drako Yau felt as if the Cryoflame Spear was a part of himself every time he infused his internal forces into it. The process felt so flawless and smooth without even the tiniest of resistance. Thanks to that, he could now chain skills even quicker and infuse his internal forces into skills.

Yet that wasn’t all; the Cryoflame Spear packed a heavy punch as well. Its two ends served as amplifiers that boosted the power of skills with corresponding elements. When using fire and ice skills on the red and blue ends respectively, their power would go up by at least twenty per cent, though casting on the wrong ends would half the skills’ potency. This trait required extraordinary technique to utilise well, but Drako Yau never yielded to difficulties anyways. He was already used to flipping the spear during combos after many days and nights of intensive training.

The trait alone made the Cryoflame Spear worthy of being a legendary weapon, if not better. Its base attack was also comparable to Danting’s Divine Martial Sword. Because the spear wasn’t registered in the system and thus had no base attack value, Drako Yau could only roughly estimate it by comparing attacks with and without the spear.

Nonetheless, the Cryoflame Spear was most certainly a legendary weapon, albeit an unofficial one.

The others shivered just from realising that they had to fight a similarly powerful clone when training with the Phantasmic Realm Grass.

“Let’s go,” Drako Yau plainly said when he saw his dazed companions. He went on without waiting for their response.

As they delved further into the encampment, things no longer went their way. Beastmen kept swarming at them like sharks that detected the scent of blood. Idyllic Poet ceased idling about and joined the fray in the rear, dishing out damage from safety. Still, no more than three beastmen attacked them simultaneously.

Drako Yau, Danting, Idyllic Poet, and Windstrider all had outstanding equipment, especially Danting, who donned a whole Level 40 epic set. Equipment-wise, he was likely the top ranker on the Eastern server.

Greenstone had the easiest time among them. As the other four were no ordinary players who rarely made mistakes in combat, chances for him to heal were far and few between. He merely followed them slowly like a tourist most of the time.

Another fifteen minutes went by. They found that nearby camps were thinning down, and a mountain stood in the direction they were headed. Before they knew it, camps no longer existed, and they now stood before a massive cave under the mountain.

“Grrrr!” A deafening howl deterred them from approaching the five by ten metres large cave entrance.

“Above,” Drako Yau stated coldly.

A massive silhouette blocked the skies as it leapt down towards them, forcing them to retreat slightly. A three-metre tall beastman landed in a loud boom and stood before the cave while glaring at them with its bloodshot eyes. It howled in rage, fully displaying its hostility.

The name tag above it read “Beastmen Chief”.

Drako Yau seemed unsurprised by the chief’s presence. He said, “I’ll hold it back. Attack at will.”

Drako Yau charged towards the beastmen chief in a flash of crimson. The gigantic beastman responded with a howl and swung its metre-long spiked mace at the puny human. Unexpectedly, he glared at the mace and made no attempt to evade it. Flames surged from the Cryoflame Spear, and he swung the flaming spear in a trail of sparks to engage the spiked mace.

Clang! Weapons clashed against one another. The spear bounced back from the spiked mace, and Drako Yau was sent flying into the ground.

“Boss!” His companions immediately rushed into action.
