Game’s Dogma

Chapter 345: Enlightenment

“Can you dodge this!” Peterpie yelled.

Dumbgirl’s response was the right one, but the brothers were capable of rivalling a chamber master for a reason. They could match her move with an equally smart one.

Peterpie’s spear flew from his hand and whizzed towards Dumbgirl as a crimson arrow. At the same time, Allmighty roared—he used the Weaponmaster skill, Spatial Rend. It propelled the caster forwards to deal significant damage to the enemy.

Allmighty’s target wasn’t Dumbgirl, who was in the air, but rather where she would land. He was sealing off her options. With a spear on her tail and Spatial Rend awaiting her on the ground, Dumgirl was caught in a checkmate.

The brothers’ chemistry was on full display. They paid no attention to the flames of battle surrounding them. Their goal was simple: to kill this girl even if they had to sacrifice themselves.

Dumbgirl’s pupils constricted as the beam of red rapidly closed in on her, bringing a rare sight of panic onto her face.

Suddenly, an explosion went off somewhere nearby. A blast of heated air ravaged the region from their flank.

“What the he—”

Before Peterpie and Allmighty could finish their sentence, the blast blew them off their feet.

The blast didn’t affect the Crimson Cyclone of Gore as it was a skill, but it blew Dumbgirl away instead. She drifted sideways along with the current, and the Crimson Cyclone of Gore naturally missed its mark.

As the beheading assault on Akechi Mitsuhide was underway, they were deep within the Akechi’s army ranks. In other words, the blast occurred in the Akechi army.

Drako Yau was at the centre of the blast, his face paling slightly. Boiling Form was a self-sacrificial status that inflicted harm on himself before he could damage the enemy, yet he had no time to consider its effects on his body now.

Mana Shot’s purple beam pounded against his spear. He felt the force hammering his hands and arms. If not for Boiling Form’s enhancement, his purlicue would probably shatter.

As a palace master, Hawk was naturally armed with the best equipment. His sniper rifle was a Level 35 epic weapon, and while his protective gear wasn’t as high-levelled, they all had one trait in common: a damage buff to Mana Shot. Similar to Firefly, the paladin who built her equipment around the Paladin skill Consecration, Hawk did likewise with Mana Shot.

Hawk was an amalgamation of the strongest and the weakest. He dominated over long range, but he was so weak at close range that even a second-rate player could easily kill him. As such, he decided to ditch defence, which was rather pointless for him, in exchange for the potential for burst damage. Buffed by his equipment, his Mana Shot dealt ridiculously high damage. Western players who could survive it could be counted on one hand.

Drako Yau fully exerted his strength, yet it was slowly but surely failing him. An almost imperceptible creak reached his ears. His spear, Shooting Star, was cracking. It barely maintained its form thanks to his internal forces of ice and fire.

This was similar to what had happened during the duel with Zeus, the only difference being that Drako Yau had since grown a lot stronger. Nonetheless, Hawk’s attack was comparable to that of Zeus’.

“Arghhhh!” A meaningless screech left his mouth.

Now, his spear was what couldn’t cope with the powerful beam. Sparks and ice shards sparkled from the spear’s tip as the beam gritted it. If his weapon was destroyed, he felt he couldn’t survive the ridiculous attack with just his body.

The danger was significant enough to threaten his life, and he decided now was not the time to worry about revealing his card. Devil King’s Cloak lit up in a crimson glow, forming a vague silhouette of a person behind him.

“Devil King’s Cloak. Active skill: Descent of the Devil King. Increases all attributes by 30% for 1 hour. Cooldown: 3 days.”

Drako Yau advanced upon sensing strength seeping into him. He had to eradicate the Mana Shot while his spear lasted. All of a sudden, an idea flashed in his head, and he instantly cursed himself for coming to the realisation only after so long.

The glowing spear turned blue. Its tip seemingly extended itself and shot forth in the form of an unstoppable icicle—Frozen Strike! After learning Advanced Grasp of Ice and Fire, Drako Yau finally discovered how to infuse his internal forces into his skills.

Drako Yau had little time to worry about what the discovery might entail. His internal forces surged into his spear like a flood, lighting up the frosty spear even more. It almost looked like he was thrusting with a giant popsicle. The ice slowly contaminated the purple beam with frost at where they made contact, slowly making its way into the beam and advancing along its surface. No one could explain the physics behind the phenomena; the surreal sight simply happened.

The purple beam was assimilated by ice in no time. It turned into a pillar of ice and crashed into the ground, shattering into smithereens. The giant popsicle in Drako Yau’s hands also broke apart. The reaction force pounded and sent him flying with blood drizzling from his mouth and seeping from the sides of his mask.

“Boss!” Sasaki screamed.

Sasaki had been diligently protecting their rear the entire time. While it was a challenging task, he still spared a bit of his attention to observe Drako Yau. He rushed over to help the moment he saw his boss flying backwards.

Windstrider subconsciously turned around to look towards the origin of the ground-shattering bang. He gritted his teeth and continued his advance—Noh Firearms Marksmanship, Corner Strike!

Dumbgirl tumbled on the ground. Covered in dust and soil, her face was as dark as soot. Meanwhile, Peterpie and Allmighty immediately scampered onto their feet after landing. They glanced at one another and charged toward Dumbgirl right away.

“Hmph!”

A shield of fire materialised before Dumbgirl, while a scorching heat wave struck the brothers from behind. Idyllic Poet was finally there to the rescue.

“Dumbgirl, we’ll fight together!” shouted Idyllic Poet.

Dumbgirl finally recovered from her daze and hurriedly got up. After replying with a hum, she ran towards Peterpie. Idyllic Poet chuckled coldly as flames rained down upon Allmighty.

Tong’s torso swung around like a pendulum, evading several of Danting’s confident attacks.

“What a strange way to dodge!” Danting scowled, though his eyes were burning with the will to fight.

Danting was arguably the best fighter among Drako Yau’s companions, but no one would dispute that he ranked first in eagerness to fight. Perhaps because he wished to challenge himself all the time, he was progressing quickly through non-stop combat.

Drako Yau’s guidance for Danting was the complete opposite of Dumbgirl. Danting was a talented fighter with free-reigning creativity, while the Magic Swordsman class had skills that could be used in endless ways, ultimately resulting in his patternless fighting style.
