Chapter 288: Crimson Bladed Curved Jade

Ying Tin grinned. He had heard rumours that insulting Hades in front of Bloodless Bladester was the friendly diplomat’s fury trigger, and it was clearly working right now.

Despite noticing his guild master’s winks, Ying Tin feigned ignorance and continued to provoke Bloodless Bladester. He only stayed in Six Nations because managing a guild was too troublesome for his liking, so he hardly had any respect for his guild master either. The only thing that mattered was taking revenge by defeating Bloodless Bladester.

“Bloodless Bladester, unsheathe your sword!” Ying Tin pointed his weapon at his enemy.

Bloodless Bladester said nothing and took out an item from his waist. He opened his palm, revealing a small piece of crimson jade. The next moment, he grasped it tightly and flooded the entire patio with the iron scent of blood as a beam of crimson shot out.

Sir Duen and Sir Hui glanced at one another in shock. “This feeling… Could it be the legendary treasure!”

The crimson glow faded and condensed into a three-foot-long sword. The blade, the hilt, the pommel, every part was distinct despite being the same colour. It was crystal-clear and glimmered like a well-refined ruby.

Although they couldn’t tell what the weapon was, those who had detection skills all held their breaths. The only information they could see was that the sword was a legendary weapon!

It’s a legendary weapon! Every player’s eyes were glued to Bloodless Bladester’s crystal-esque sword. Apart from the rumoured legendary sword that was sold for three hundred million, no one knew of another legendary weapon in the game.

Right now, a mythical legendary sword was right before their eyes.

A legendary weapon? He didn’t have it before… Right, that quest!

Fear flashed through Ying Tin’s mind as the spectators’ whispers entered his ears. He immediately remembered the quest’s reward, and that only flamed his anger even more.

If that annoying bastard didn’t have such a despicable skill, the legendary would be mine!

Rage and jealousy blinded him. Ignoring the potential strength of a legendary weapon, all he thought of was to rend Bloodless Bladester into pieces.

“Die!” Ying Tin roared and blasted away with True Crescent Aura.

The huge crescent sword aura flew towards Bloodless Bladester. With an eerie grin, he sliced the sword aura into two, making everyone drop their jaws.

What the hell? How can he slice the skill apart?

“Hmph! Don’t think you can use the same trick on me twice!” Ying Tin snickered. Surrounded by sword auras, he dashed around the place using Swords of the Eight Realms, rendering him an unlockable target.

“Where are you looking at?”

A puff of warm air tickled Ying Tin’s neck from behind, but when he turned around, nothing but emptiness awaited him. The warmth made him shudder.

“Look again.”

The voice haunted him like a midnight siren, ringing all around him. It sounded right beside him, yet he saw nothing wherever he looked.

Some of the spectating players held their breaths at the uncanny scene. The moment Bloodless Bladester cloned himself, he was already right behind Ying Tin. No matter how Ying Tin scurried around with Swords of the Eight Realms, Bloodless Bladester remained stuck to him like his shadow. Some couldn’t bear watching any longer and turned away.

Ying Tin was drenched in sweat after he ran everywhere for a while. Despite his efforts, he couldn’t even see Bloodless Bladester’s silhouette.

This is… utter humiliation!

Ying Tin halted his steps and gasped for air; the red alert was blinking on his user interface. He howled, “Kill me! Insulting me like this just makes you a villain!”

“Oh, why didn’t you say this when you were insulting Hades?” Bloodless Bladester’s voice reached Ying TIn from behind, his breath caressing the poor soul’s neck.

“That’s enough. Let him go,” said Hades.

“Understood.”

Bloodless Bladester nodded. The crystal sword in his hands dissolved into oblivion like snow. Just like that, he calmly strode back to his seat and sat down.

Both of them never landed a hit in the entire fight, but the victor was obvious. Bloodless Bladester could easily kill Ying Tin whenever and however he wanted. Yet he didn’t—he humiliated Ying Tin in the most extreme way possible.

Ying Tin sat on the ground lifelessly before logging off. Even back in the actual world, he still turned around to look from time to time, as if the voice that spelt his despair would strike him from behind.

Little did he know the nightmare would last for another year to come.

Hades patted Bloodless Bladester’s shoulder and asked, “Impressive. What’s the sword’s like?”

Trump cards and equipment attributes were every player’s most-guarded secrets. However, Bloodless Bladester had nothing to hide when it came to Hades.

“Crimson Bladed Curved Jade: a growth-type divine item from the mysterious forbidden zone ‘Yellowstream Jadefall’.

Passive skill: Jaded Blood Infusion. Increase movement speed by 30% and attack speed by 10%.

Active skill: Crimson Evisceration. Increase Dexterity by 50 points.

A growth-type item.”

If the Divine Martial Sword excelled at Strength, the Crimson Bladed Curved Jade was its counterpart in Dexterity. Similarly, their active skills both increased a certain attribute by 50 points.

Buffed by the legendary weapon’s active and passive skills, Bloodless Bladester was all the more agile when using his unique shuffle-step Dash. He easily toyed Ying Tin around with his extreme agility. In fact, any unfortunate victim whom he set his eyes on had no chance of escaping.

Silence took over for a while as they were still awe-struck by Bloodless Bladester’s overwhelming strength. That didn’t last long though, and everyone got even more eager to fight. As elite players, they all had their own pride; who’d want to fall behind? Seeing Bloodless Bladester’s display only instigated their desire for the inheritances—it was one of the most straightforward ways to grow stronger almost instantly.

As there were over a hundred players present, some who stepped up to fight weren’t that well-known in the game. Still, their performances surprised the spectators more often than not.

Meanwhile, a player was whizzing through the crowd while yelling, “Place your bets! It’s the duel of the two great paladins!

“Handsome Scholar, known as the number one paladin! That title however is somewhat contested, because his opponent this time is Firefly, the number one female paladin!

“The two best paladins of their respective genders are now duelling for the first time ever! Three to two for Handsome Scholar, five to two for Firefly! Place your bets now!”

Sitting behind Drako Yau was Goemon with a palm over his face. “When did that guy sneak out?”

Even the indifferent Judge Chui twitched his face as he said, “You know I can’t keep him in check.”

Overhearing their conversation, Drako Yau asked out of curiosity, “Is that brother one of us?”

“Eh… Haha…” Goemon chuckled in embarrassment. “I guess.”
