Chapter 267: Florate

Although only five enemy players remained, the tide of battle hadn’t really turned to their favour; the six Level 40 epic bosses were already within sight.

Drako Yau could easily handle most of his opponents, but that wasn’t without a limit. Getting hit by any of the bosses would severely injure him considering their out-of-place levels. The attacking players who had been watching on the sidelines also joined in after Godmage was killed almost instantly.

Bam! Bam!

It was a ranger who made the move with his hunting rifle. His name was somewhat peculiar: A Man Like Wind.

He lived up to his name with his skill obtained through an encounter quest, Windy Step, which was a passive skill that permanently increased his movement speed. A Man Like Wind used up a lot of skill points to max out Windy Step—it now granted him a permanent fifty per cent movement speed buff.

With his agility, he ran like the wind as he fired shot after shot.

“Hmph!” Bloodless Bladester grunted.

Wai Kiu’s Tempest Swordsmanship was already putting a lot of pressure on him. With A Man Like Wind now targeting him as well, he was finding things a bit too much to handle alone.

“Gotcha!” Wai Kiu’s eyes flashed the moment he saw an opening and thrust his sword.

The sword pierced through Bloodless Bladester’s misty figure—Blood Shadow! Bloodless Bladester reappeared behind A Man Like Wind and smacked him with Spared from Death, stunning him.

Getting caught in melee range with a weaponmaster was every ranged player’s nightmare. Fortunately for him, a holy ray descended upon him and released him from the stun effect. He immediately evaded Bloodless Bladester’s attacks at a hair’s breadth and spared a thankful glance to his rear despite drenching in cold sweat.

A lady donned in a long robe brandished her wand as she healed her allies. The strongest cleric and vice guild master of the Empyreon-based Traceless Floreal, she was the owner of the epic-grade furniture item Septiscent that increased all attributes by eight points and Heath regeneration by ten.

Florate was a plum in the dire winter, standing proud amidst the ensuing chaos. Every time she waved her staff, her allies recovered by a great margin. She might be nowhere near Greenstone in technique and footwork, but her Health recovery was undoubtedly the best in the game.

The reason was simple: she was covered in epic equipment, all of which increased Health recovery. “Money” was the perfect word to sum up her strength in one word. Though dumping loads of money into her gear and development, she was made into a powerful healing machine.

Drako Yau didn’t go over to support Bloodless Bladester. He didn’t have much of a choice either. The best he could do was pat his chest and activate his armour’s active skill, Song of the Celestial Hero

Active skill, Song of the Celestial Hero: All armour pieces synchronise and resonate, lowering the movement speed of all enemies within 100 metres by 10% for 15 minutes. Cooldown: 3 hours.

Every enemy including the six bosses felt a bit sluggish.

“Protect Greenstone and go with the flow. I’ll keep the six bosses occupied!” Drako Yau said without turning around.

Chau Yu knew those words were meant for him. He couldn’t help but respect Drako Yau for his confidence in taking on six Level 40 epic bosses alone. Who else but the mighty Mask would volunteer for such an impossible task?

Drako Yau shot forth like a swift arrow. While he was confident, he wasn’t arrogant; he knew the best he could do was buy time. Trying to take them out was far too risky when they had an unfairly high Attack. He couldn’t afford to put more pressure on Greenstone either.

“You sly brat!” Furious that his attacks missed, Wai Kiu shouted and charged at Bloodless Bladester angrily.

Bloodless Bladester was also getting a bit stressed out. Blood Mist was an ultimate skill of the Lunar Reflection style and cannot be used too often with a three-hour cooldown. He couldn’t use Blood Shadow freely either because it consumed a tenth of his current Health. When overused, the skill could spell his demise.

A Man Like Wind also fired a barrage of skills at Bloodless Bladester furiously. Explosive Shot, Triangular Strangle, Freezing Shot… various skills were whizzing through the air to greet Bloodless Bladester.

Just when the ranger was having a blast firing off skills, a ray of godly purple light distorted space as it cut across the battleground and struck him. The resulting blast shot him out like a cannonball.

Florate hurriedly healed up A Man Like Wind, who looked at Chau Yu in terror. The blast took out almost all his Health. If not for Florate’s timely healing, even a basic attack could’ve ended him.

That guy’s a cleric? You call that a cleric? He’s a human cannon!

Chau Yu felt his mind turn hazy after firing off two blasts at Godmage and A Man Like Wind. The godly purple ray was powerful, but he couldn’t cast it without restraint due to its backlashes.

A Man Like Wind was the most probable enemy he could kill in one blast. Florate, despite being a cleric, had outrageously good equipment, and killing her with a single attack was simply impossible.

What a pity. Chau Yu sat on the ground with his legs crossed and rested himself.

“Die! Die! Die!” Yim Ho howled and swung his claws at Tigeroar in an unrelenting barrage of slashes.

Tigeroar was forced to fall back. Is this guy on drugs? It’s like he can’t control himself!

His clan style, Roar of the Forest Tiger, was a sound-based martial art. No matter how strong a fighter was in melee combat, it was of no importance when they’d die from internal bleeding after getting hit by their howls. As such, his clan looked down on melee-based techniques.

Yet now, Yim Ho was immune to all his soundwave attacks. Even Mask was affected by his howls, albeit just a little. How could Yim Ho be completely immune to it?

Yim Ho’s immunity had nothing to do with his talents. Rather, he was only immune because Greenstone’s Brute Force buff on him was still active. The skill granted him immunity to all negative ailments and debuffs, including those from internal forces! Brute Force alone was enough to prove Herbalist’s might as the best support class.

Both sides found themselves in a stalemate.

Drako Yau was playing hide and seek with the bosses with his only goal being to buy time. With Empyreal Dragon Step, he slipped past the angry bosses’ reach. They couldn’t do anything to him apart from roaring angrily, at least for now. The nearby villagers, though not as strong as the bosses, also fought valiantly without regard for their lives, granting Drako Yau time to evade and hide.

Bloodless Bladester was engaged in combat with A Man Like Wind and Wai Kiu, while Yim Ho was taking on Tigeroar. As they fought, Greenstone and Florate were busy healing their allies.

Chau Yu was sitting the battle out as he was resting from overworking his mind. Suddenly, he snapped his eyes open—something felt wrong.
