Chapter 33 Escape

Walling on the ground, Rhaegar's head was confused and he looked around blankly.

Turning his head to look behind him, he saw Ilic in silver armor and white robe pressing on top of him, protecting him tightly.

“Ilic, you should be guarding the entrance of the cave, why are you here?”

His brain couldn't turn around for a moment, and Rhaegar asked in a daze.

“Protecting your safety is my most important responsibility!”

Ilic's voice was dull, and he stood up quickly with his hands and feet. He held Rhaegar in his arms and ran wildly.

Rhaegar didn’t hear what he said clearly and couldn’t help but look back.

I also want to see what Meng Huo looks like.

He was almost taming the dream fire.

It is not advisable to change too quickly and fall out at the first sign of failure, which will result in wasted effort.

Yilik walked quickly, running out of the nest in a few steps and running out along the tunnel.

Rhaegar’s eyes stayed on Menghuo, watching the light blue beast vent its anger.

Suddenly, his eyes noticed the chain around Meng Huo's neck.

Menghuo's body twisted back and forth, and the sharp dragon teeth bit into the chain as thick as an adult's thigh, causing sparks to fly everywhere.

“It’s the chain! The chain interrupted Menghuo’s master recognition ceremony, which angered it!”

With a flash of inspiration in his mind, Rhaegar screamed and stared angrily at the chain that led to his failure to tame the dragon.

Finding the reason, Rega immediately exploded.

The mood is no better than that of Meng Huo who is going crazy at the moment. He wants to kill the **** with this chain.

Before he could say anything else, Ilic ran around the corner and completely lost Meng Huo's sight.

After a while, he rushed out of the nest and returned to the entrance of the original cave.

Meenas rushed over immediately and said anxiously: "How is your highness? Is everything okay?"

Ilic pushed him away and snorted: "Shut your mouth, you'd better pray that the prince is fine."

Speaking, he put Rhaegar on the ground and squatted down to check back and forth.

Rhaegar was now wallowing in regret and at his mercy.

“Damn, I almost tamed the dream fire!”

How regretful he felt in his heart!

Elic first opened Rhaegar's head and checked it back and forth, making sure that the head was not injured before checking the limbs.

“My arms and legs are fine, my hands and feet are fine...”

While chanting, Ilic looked at Rega's back, his face immediately became gloomy.

The clothes on my back had long been burned away, and my back that should have been white was covered with dense blisters.

 “This is a serious burn!”

Mainers screamed as if blisters were growing on him.

 “Quiet, I’m not blind yet!”

Ilic glared at him bitterly, wishing he could kill the illegitimate bachelor who had seduced the prince into training the dragon with a sword.

After a brief separation, Menas has regained his composure.

Of course he knows what the consequences will be if the prince is hurt.

When he thought of the gallows beckoning to him, Menas felt his eyes darken.

“Wait a minute, I know herbalism and medicine, I can treat your highness.”

Afraid of returning, Menas also protected his sanity and thought of a way to save the life.

Afraid that Ilic would not listen to his advice, he pulled out a collar from his clothes with three different types of chain links: black iron, silver, and gold.

“Go away, I don’t trust you.”

How could Ilic listen to him? He picked up Rhaegar and left.

At the time of the life-and-death crisis just now, Rega didn't feel anything.

Now out of danger, Rhaegar took a deep breath and almost fainted from the pain following Ilic's movements.

“Sir, wait a minute, it hurts too much!”

The entire back and the back of the neck were severely burned. The pain from the fire was irritating the nerves all the time and had begun to worsen towards numbness.

"Let me temporarily deal with it for His Highness. His current injury is unbearable and must be treated as soon as possible."

Meenas opened his hands and blocked Ilic's path.

Ilic knew the priority of the matter and looked at Rhaegar hesitantly.

Rega bared his teeth and said, "Treat it! I can't stand it anymore!"

Ilik nodded, stared at Menas with an evil look, and warned: "If I find out that you dare to play tricks, you will be in trouble."

Menas hummed softly: "I cherish life more than you think." Then he asked Ilic to carry Rhaegar on his back and walk out of the tunnel smoothly.

“My residence is near the dragon’s lair, where there are herbs and equipment.”

Out of the tunnel, Menas led the way up the stairs and walked into a narrow wooden house on the edge of the dragon's lair.

 “You live here?”

Looking around at the shabby furniture and musty smell in the wooden house, Ilic didn't expect a bachelor to be so mixed up.

Mainers quickly walked to the bed and lay down, pulling out a square wooden box from under the bed.

After opening it, there are various bottles and jars inside, containing medicinal powders, pills...

“Put the prince flat on the bed, and I’ll do some simple surface cleaning first.”

Meenas spoke in a hurry, not even in the mood to argue with Eric.

“The movement is a bit big, please be patient.”

Elic reminded Rhaegar and saw him roll down his back and press him on the bed.

“Hiss! Isn’t it a little late for you to remind me?”

Rhaegar's face was twisted in pain and indignant.

“Stop talking and save some energy, Your Highness.”

Meenas found two ceramic jars and lightly sprinkled a layer of medicinal powder on Rhaegar's back.

 “It hurts, it hurts…”

Rhaegar gritted his teeth, his hands and feet spasming uncontrollably.

Looking sideways at Ilic, he said painfully: "Why didn't I faint? Wouldn't I usually faint long ago after such an injury?"

Ilic was speechless and choked: "People will faint when they endure unbearable severe pain. The fact that you didn't faint proves that the pain is not enough."

“But I already feel strong enough.”

Rhaegar argued at the top of his lungs.

It’s not that he is talkative.

If he didn't find someone to chat with to distract him, he might actually pass out from the pain.

“Seven levels of hell! Such extensive burns came from dragon flames. How did your highness survive?”

Meenas couldn't help but sigh while applying medicine and bandage.

Judging from the knowledge he has learned, the dragon flames exhaled by an adult dragon are enough to melt steel.

The human body will be burned to ashes if it comes into direct contact with dragon flames.

It is hard to imagine that Rhaegar could still remain conscious after being scratched by the dragon flame.

Hearing Menas's exclamation, Rhaegar asked instead: "Aren't you waiting for me by the lair? Why is it Sir Ilic who came to save me?"

Meenas' face froze, and he said with shame: "I was confused for a moment, so I led you into the dream fire's lair."

“As soon as you entered, I regretted it.”

“I ran out specifically to seek help from this Lord White Knight, fearing that you would be in danger.”

"Unexpectedly, Meng Huo went crazy so quickly, and still caused you to suffer such serious injuries."

Rhaegar ignored him and looked at Ilic.

Ilic did not deny it. He knelt down on one knee and said loudly:

“The duty given to me by the king is to protect you, and letting you go into danger alone is a serious breach of responsibility on my part.”

“I...I’m sorry for the white robe I’m carrying.”

After saying that, Ilic lowered his head and pulled off the white cloak that was mostly burned off from his back.

Looking at the burnt white robe, Rhaegar looked at Ilic's back with concern and asked, "Are you injured, Sir?"

Elic was slightly startled: "No, Prince."

Rhaegar breathed a sigh of relief when he heard this, and said bitterly: "I'm not the best. It's my fault for insisting on my own way. If you get hurt because of me, I will really be embarrassed."

 “The duty lies.”

Elic responded calmly.

“No, your task at that time was to stay put.”

Rhaegar buried his face deep in his arms and said in despair: "Sir, thank you for coming to save me regardless of your past grievances. I'm really sorry!"

The plot of the previous chapter is to pave the way for the future. There is no need to worry about the outcome of failure despite having blood.

Strictly speaking, the protagonist is successful.

He and Menghuo had already established a connection, but were interrupted by chains midway.

Before Aemond tamed Vhagar, he also tried to touch the Dreamfire, but was scared away by a mouthful of dragon flame.

Every Targaryen has experiences growing up.
