American Fame and Fortune

Chapter 64: It’s inevitable to go on the ring stage

Chapter 64 It’s inevitable to go to the ring stage

The Ford drove around the Clayton community, and the black dealers who could be seen everywhere disappeared without a trace, like garbage that had been cleared away.

Martin drove into the community and parked in front of Carter's house. Lily, Hall and Harris, who were crowded in the back seat, couldn't wait to get out of the car and ran towards the door of the house.

Diagonally opposite, Mr. Wood swayed over.

Elena and Martin opened the trunk and called the three of them to come over and move their luggage.

Mr. Wood came here and asked, "Have you enjoyed your journey?"

"Very happy." Lily smiled and passed over, handing Mr. Wood a wolf keychain: "Mr. Wood, I brought you a gift."

Mr. Wood was surprised: "This seems to be from the Great Smoky Mountains."

Martin answered: "Only after leaving Atlanta did I realize that our Atlanta-made tourist souvenirs are sold everywhere."

Mr. Wood smiled cheerfully.

Martin asked: "The black dealer disappeared?"

“It seems that the DEA wiped out one group and the rest ran away.” Mr. Wood was quite pleased: “Our Neighborhood Defense Alliance was a great success and Clayton restored the previous order.”

Elena’s demands are not high: “I can finally return to my original state.”

Martin called Harris and Hall to carry the luggage back into the house.

Elena and Lily had a conversation with Mr. Wood and came back with the rest of their luggage.

Martin proposed again: “We can change to a better neighborhood.”

"We grew up here, and now that we don't have those black people, everything is back to normal." Elena doesn't want to leave: "There are all familiar neighbors here. Although they are sometimes bad, they are all good people in the community, and Money should be used where it matters most, Harris is about to go to college.”

She tried her best to refrain from swearing: "Without enough money and decent jobs, if we move to other communities, we will only be discriminated against."

“I got a part-time job tutoring elementary school students at the planetarium,” Harris said.

Lily is rarely serious: "I go to deliver newspapers every morning."

Hall said: "The churchyard is looking for people to dig holes, and I'm good at it."

Elena went over and punched him on the head: "You are responsible for looking after the house!"

Martin thought for a while and said to Harris: "You can learn more about the starry sky at the planetarium and ask carefully if it is difficult to establish a for-profit astronomical association."

Harris nodded: "I will ask clearly."

Elena said at this time: "Your accent sounds really awkward now."

Martin said: "I started late with my Hollywood accent, so I can only practice it every day."

Lily suddenly interjected: "He only wants to be a big star!"

Two fists stopped in front of Lily's face at the same time, and Lily lowered her head in embarrassment.

Martin has always been mainly intimidating. He retracted his fist, took out the Ford car key, and handed it to Elena: "This car is for you, it is convenient for commuting to and from get off work."

Then he turned his head, just in time to see the grievance spread on Lily's face, her mouth slightly opened, and she wanted to speak.

He slapped Lily on the face: "Shut up!"

Elena asked: "What about you?"

Martin took out another car key: "I recently helped someone get an investment, and this is a bonus." He took the initiative to change the subject: "Who wants to go out, I'm going to buy a searchlight."

Elena said: "I'll go with you."

Martin discovered that Lao Hei was the real threat, especially Lao Hei who wore black clothes at night. He was absolutely stunning.

He wants to install searchlights outside the house to defeat Lao Hei's invisibility.

Just after noon, Elena drove the Ford to Qingba.

Martin first went to a free meeting to collect his salary for the past two weeks, then went to Gray Film and Television Company, found Kelly's assistant Ella, gave her a small gift, and asked her to help write a social investigation report.

The salary of the Free Association is not that easy to get, and the social investigator must submit a formal report every three weeks.

Director Benjamin learned that Martin was coming, so he made a phone call and invited Martin to sit in his office. "The boss informed me this morning that he decided to green light the project and designate you as the leading actor." It was not difficult for Benjamin to analyze from this information that Martin convinced the boss.

He was quite emotional: "My long-cherished wish finally has hope."

Martin spoke nicely: "I am here today only because of your support, director. Without that impressive circus, I would not have this opportunity."

Benjamin realized Martin's importance to his boss and no longer regarded him as a simple actor, saying: "Don't worry, I will tailor a more exciting play for you this time."

I don’t know why, but Martin suddenly felt chilly.

However, if you jump up and down to make a shot, you can't give up in the middle, and you have to finish everything.

Thinking about the script, the male protagonist must be outstanding, and he gradually came up with some ideas.

Benjamin specifically reminded: "You have worked in the gigolo club for so long, so you should be familiar with striptease, right?"

Martin understood why he was so cold and said, "I'm a bartender."

Benjamin said: “Prepare in advance and start practicing.”

Martin sighed secretly. After such a big circle, he still had to go to the ring stage.

Why bother? If you go to Los Angeles in the future, won’t you go around and enter the Sacred Valley?

Martin didn’t want to do this, so he decided to use his ability to push the envelope and said: “Director, for the role of the owner of the gigolo club, you wrote an ugly man.”

Benjamin simply said: "There must be green leaves around the red flowers. The role of the boss is the green leaves. With the foil, the audience will think that the dancers are handsome."

“I have a friend who would be perfect for this role,” Martin said.

Benjamin knew that Martin was a temporary actor: "The boss has a lot of lines."

Martin was naturally talking about Robert: "His acting skills are basically passable and his lines are fine."

"Okay." Benjamin responded immediately: "When the crew sends out a notice, let him come directly to audition. As long as his basic acting skills are good, I will give him the green light."

This kind of favor that does not cost any of his own resources, he gave it without any burden: "I remember which theater troupe you are a member of?"

Martin nodded: "Marietta Community Theater Company." He did not forget to boast: "The most professional team of background artists in Atlanta, and they have collaborated with the company on many late-night plays."

Benjamin said directly: "You are responsible for the contact."

The two chatted about the male protagonist for a while. Martin said goodbye and left, and met Andrew in the company lobby.

Andrew was beaming: "I just heard from Ella that you will also serve as the production manager of this drama?"

Martin told the truth: "It's just a false position."

Andrew looked around and lowered his voice: "Lynn was dragged down by Adam Smith and was taken away by the DEA last week. The boss has decided to fire him."

 Martin reacted: "Congratulations, casting director."

Andrew had done a lot for Martin at the time, and he could roughly guess that Martin had killed Adam Smith, and he benefited from it. He specifically raised his fist and said, "It should be congratulations to us."

Martin bumped fists with him: "I'll ask Jerome to contact you."

Andrew said: “No problem, he can call me anytime.”

Confirming that there would be no surprises in the project, Martin called the team leader Jerome, then made an appointment with Robert to meet, and handed Robert the character script given by Benjamin.

"What do you mean?" Robert looked at the character script and suddenly thought of the guy and the pervert who frequently discussed backdoors when they were having dinner: "Martin, I'm not interested in men!"

Martin was helpless: "Man, I'm not even interested in men! I'm the leading actor in this drama, and if you're not around to watch, I'm worried that the leading actor will be snatched away."

Robert’s defense: “I really didn’t do anything, it was just a coincidence.”

"I understand." Martin didn't bother to say more: "This character has about twenty lines less. You go back and prepare well. If you screw up the audition, I will give you to Bruce. Bruce is the one who likes to use the back door."

The next day, Dave, representing Gray Pictures, reached an agreement with Sophia and Vincent, and the "Zombie Gigolo" project was officially approved.
