Alien Knights

Chapter 766 Apocalypse Day (3)

Groom Lake Military Base.

Seeing the distraught Clemens walking into the room, Liz and Alice came forward to greet him and asked, "What happened?"

Clemens looked at his daughter Alice and forced a smile.

Then, he turned his back and said quietly to Liz: "Pack your things, let's get out of here."

Liz asked: "Leave? Are you sure those people will let us go?"

Clemens nodded and said: "Not only us, the entire base is preparing to evacuate. Someone will come to take us away soon."

Liz asked in surprise: "What happened?"

Clemens: "Something happened at the singularity, and something came out of the white hole..."

Liz: "Something?"

Recalling what he had just experienced, Clemens shuddered: "Some very scary things..."

Liz looked at Clemens' pale face, hugged him gently, turned to Alice and said, "Baby, pack your toys and books, we are leaving."

Forty minutes later, two heavily armed soldiers knocked on the door of the room and said outside the door: "Professor Scott, we must go."

Carrying a large bag on his shoulders, dragging the suitcase with one hand and holding Alice with the other, Clemens opened the door and said, "Let's go."

Liz was the last one to walk out. As she closed the door, she looked at the rooms on both sides and asked, "Where are Professor Johannesson and Mr. and Mrs. Ishimura? Have they left?"

Clemens didn't even look back: "They're not coming back."

Liz was stunned, lowered her head and stopped talking.

Along the way, there were busy scenes everywhere in the entire base.

Some people were busy loading valuable instruments onto trucks, some were burning important documents, and others were distributing weapons and ammunition, and loudly explaining how to operate firearms.

Alice hugged Clemens' legs tightly, with a look of fear in her eyes.

Clemens asked the soldier leading the way: "Where are we going?"

The soldiers did not stop: "Desert Rock Airport, there is a plane to pick us up there."

Walking to the parking lot of the base, a wheeled infantry fighting vehicle was waiting there early.

Entering the back door of the chariot, Clemens saw an unexpected acquaintance.

Mr. Goodman of Washington.

This politician, who always wears suits and ties, and has trendy hair, now looks a little embarrassed. Even the slightest noise around him can make him conditioned to be frightened.

Watching the Clemens family all enter the tank, the soldier closed the door and shouted into the walkie-talkie: "All members of Chalice-7 are in place and ready to go at any time!"

A few minutes later, accompanied by the roar of the engine, a huge convoy set off from the back door of the base and embarked on the escape route.

Sitting in the high-speed tank, Liz opened a crack in the armored side window and looked outside.

In distant towns, thick black smoke floats in the air; damaged and abandoned vehicles can be seen everywhere on both sides of the road.

A soldier came over and slammed the side window next to Liz.

Liz said dissatisfied: "Don't you think it's boring here? I just opened a gap!"

The soldier said solemnly: "They can get in from anywhere."

Liz was puzzled: "Them?"

The soldier did not explain, but closed his eyes and returned to his position.

Goodman, who was huddled in a corner of the carriage with a messy head of hair, bit his fingers and whispered: "These are just trivial problems. Our army can smooth them all out."

Clemens looked at Goodman and said, "Maybe we made a mistake about the singularity."

Goodman raised his head, twitched the corners of his mouth and shouted: "Make a mistake?! I can't possibly make a mistake! It's all other people's fault!"

"Those instruments, yes, those instruments that monitor white holes! They are all made abroad. There must be something wrong with the machines that caused this disaster!"

"And those scientists! There must be foreign spies among them! There must be terrorists! This is a huge conspiracy against the United States!"

Facing the maniacal Goodman, Clemens shook his head and remained silent.

A voice suddenly came from the intercom in the driver's seat of the tank: "There is a small group of infected people near the gate of Moccasin RD."

The soldier unhooked his semi-automatic rifle, pulled the bolt, and said to other people in the car: "Stay where you are and hold on to the armrests!"

A few minutes later, a piercing scream came from outside the car.

This sound is getting louder and louder.

The voice came again from the intercom: "They are blocking the intersection! We can only rush over!"

Clemens hugged Liz and Alice tightly, closed his eyes and began to pray to God.

The high-speed chariot made a bang as if it hit something.

Immediately afterwards, a series of crashing sounds came from outside the car. Occasionally the car body shook, and the sound of wheels crushing objects could be heard.

In the constant collision and crushing, the speed of the chariot slowed down, and a ping-ping-pong-pong sound came from the roof.

The soldier driving the vehicle turned around and shouted toward the carriage: "Be careful! They're climbing on the roof!"

Several soldiers in the tank quickly pointed their guns at the roof of the tank.

As the sound on the roof became louder and louder, small depressions continued to appear on the shooting hatch on the top of the wheeled tank.

At first, there was an invisible gap where the decks were connected. Then the gap became larger and larger, and finally a gap the size of a palm was forcefully opened.

Looking at the black parasite tentacles protruding from the outside of the tank, the soldier shouted to fire and pulled the trigger of the semi-automatic rifle.

The huge gunfire echoed inside the car, making people deafening.

The bullet passed through the gap in the roof of the car and accurately knocked down the enemy on the roof.

Just when the soldier breathed a sigh of relief, the parasitic tentacle shattered by the bullet fell into the carriage and turned into countless small black insects that kept twisting.

A small insect jumped on the leg of a soldier's trousers, chewed through the synthetic fiber and cotton, and penetrated directly into the soldier's skin.

"Ah! Shit! Something got in my leg!"

The soldier who was eaten by the parasite quickly dropped his gun and grabbed his legs with both hands, trying to drive out what was inside his body.

Seeing this scene, Clemens' eyes widened and he shouted in fear: "He is infected!"

The small black bugs swam along the soldier's skin and finally landed in the victim's eyeballs.

The insect body began to divide and reproduce rapidly, bursting out the host's eyeball in a short time.

A parasitic tentacle as thick as a finger emerged from the victim's eye socket, twisting and swinging in the air.

Accompanied by people's screams, the out-of-control chariot swayed left and right on the road, and finally rushed off the highway and fell into a bush.
