Chapter 659 Escaped Karin

In the night, Marcus and Karin escaped from the undead lair and came to an Abbasid Empire military camp above the ground.

Leaning his huge body in the darkness in the corner, Marcus wrapped Karin tightly around his chest with his cloak and nervously looked at the soldiers above his head who were getting away.

"I can't breathe."

Hearing the soft whine of the woman in his arms, Marcus hurriedly loosened his cloak and gave Karin some room to breathe.

With a black cloth covering her eyes, Karin finally asked her question: "What exactly do you want to do?"

Marcus wrote on Karin's palm: "Save you."

Karin asked again: "Why?"

Marcus was silent for a long time and wrote hesitantly: "I don't know."

Karin sighed helplessly, temporarily gave up her plan to ask further questions, and asked, "Why can't I use my powers?"

Marcus thought for a while, then moved the handcuffs and shackles on Karin's body.

Karin raised her hands in annoyance and said in a deep voice: "Open it for me!"

Marcus hesitated.

Without waiting for a response, Karin guessed the other party's worries and said directly: "I am already blind, where else can I run?!"

Marcus scratched his head, and then removed all Karin's handcuffs and shackles.

Kicking aside these strange shackles made of stone-like material, Karin touched her freed hands and feet, closed her eyes first, and entered the soul space. After a few seconds, the expression on her face was gone. Nervous and uneasy.

Karin hid in Marcos' arms again: "Going north, there are stones arranged in a circle on the ground under a high wall, and there is a damaged gap there."

Marcus lay down and took Karin with him, carefully traveling through the military camp of the Abbasid Empire under the cover of night, and soon found the stone mark under the high wall of the camp.

"Pull open the weeds and sand, and there will be a hole under the wall that can allow a person to get out."

Marcus followed the instructions and removed the debris, and found the hole in the ground that Karin had mentioned.

The entrance to the hole seemed a bit small for Marcus' size, but with his strange strength, he quickly doubled the entrance to the hole.

After taking Karin out of the hole in the military camp, Marcus finally came to the street.

It was still late at night, everything was quiet, except for the occasional barking of dogs.

Karin closed her eyes and confirmed the escape route with Rachel again in the soul space.

"There should be a spice shop on this street with a colorful curtain hanging on the door. Go in from the alley next to the shop."

Marcus followed Karin's directions and walked into the alley.

"At the end of the alley there is a path that leads down to the canal."

Marcus held Karin in the night and found the path at the end of the alley.

However, the muddy path was too slippery. Marcus did not pay attention to his steps and rolled down the slope with Karin.

Karin climbed up with difficulty, patted the muddy water on her body, and said softly: "I'm fine, keep moving forward."

Marcus began to look around and found a piece of hemp rope thrown on the roadside. Regardless of Karin's objection, he tied her behind her back and then walked all the way down to the lower reaches of the city's canal.

Lying on Marcus's back, Karin confirmed the route in the soul space and directed: "On the wall on the right, there is a five-pointed star graffitied with charcoal. Go up from there, and there is a five-pointed star on it. Broken steps, then climb up from there.”

Marcus took Karin up the side wall of the city's water channel and arrived at a dilapidated warehouse.

Karin patted Marcus on the shoulder and said softly: "Put me down."

Walking to the locked door of the warehouse, Karin knocked out three long and two short signals.

Soon, a voice came from inside: "Who is knocking on the door?"

Karin whispered: "I ordered wine to be sent to the north."

"What kind of wine?"

"Barley, alfalfa and clover."

The door of the warehouse opened, and a middle-aged businessman wearing a headscarf raised a torch. Seeing Karin's burned face, he was stunned for a moment, and then asked uncertainly: "Are you Mr. Forman?"

Karin pulled her cloak down a little to cover her face: "You should all have received Rachel's message. I want to leave here tonight."

The middle-aged businessman nodded: "No problem, our caravan will leave the city at dawn, and the soldiers at the gate are ready. As long as..."

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of Marcus behind Karin. The middle-aged businessman was so shocked that he didn't even finish his words. He directly reached for the weapon on his waist: "Oh my God, what is this?! Mr. Foreman, Get out of the way!"

Karin stopped the other party's actions and said in a deep voice: "He is with me!"

The middle-aged businessman couldn't help but glance at Marcus again and whispered: "He doesn't look like a mutant at all, or even a human."

Ignoring the other party's questions, Karin gestured for the other party to lead the way.

Arriving at a place similar to a bookkeeping room in the warehouse, the middle-aged businessman went to make arrangements for the fleet. Karin and Marcus were finally able to take a break.

Leaning her back against Marcus, Karin said, "Now I can finally ask you some questions."

"First of all, why did you save me?"

This question kept Marcus silent for a long time, maybe he didn't even know the answer.

Karin analyzed: "You and Miles are together, which shows that you are also a dead soul. Whether you are a master or a servant or a superior or subordinate, there must be a good reason for you to disobey orders and save me."

Marcus took Karin's hand and wrote crookedly: "Karin, stay alive."

Karin shook off his hand and said angrily: "What kind of answer is this? Sympathy?"

Marcus took Karin's hand again and stubbornly wrote again: "Karin, stay alive."

This time, Karin didn't let go of his hand. She repeatedly stroked the other person's handwriting and said thoughtfully, "I don't know why, but you make me feel familiar."

Marcus quickly let go of Karin and hid in a corner of the room, as if he heard something terrible.

Karin tried her best to recall everything in the past in her mind, trying to find where the familiar feeling just now came from.

However, she failed.

This feeling was like a ghost that flashed past her eyes and then disappeared.

She didn't have long to think. Soon, the middle-aged businessman walked into the room and said to Karin: "Sir Forman, the caravan is ready."

Karin struggled to get up and limped to her feet.

The middle-aged businessman tilted his head and looked at Marcus with a frown: "Mr. Forman, how should we deal with this... person?"

Karin turned her head in the direction of Marcus, thought for a few seconds, and said, "Take him and let's go together."
